Frequently Asked Questions - ISH-3500BP Imarflex

How do I install the Imarflex ISH-3500BP water heater?
Installation must be performed by a qualified professional. Ensure the unit is mounted vertically on a wall, with proper water inlet and outlet connections (1/2 inch BSP). The electrical supply should match the rating (220-240V, 3500W). Use a dedicated circuit with an RCD.
Can I use this water heater with a shower?
Yes, it is designed for shower use. However, ensure adequate water pressure (min 0.1 MPa) and that the shower head is compatible with the flow rate. The unit has a built-in flow sensor.
What is the maximum water temperature?
The adjustable thermostat allows a maximum temperature of 60°C. Default setting is usually around 45°C. Do not exceed 60°C to avoid scalding.
How to clean the inlet filter?
Turn off power and water supply. Unscrew the inlet connection, remove the filter mesh, rinse it under running water, and reassemble. Perform this every 3 months to prevent clogging.
Why does my water heater turn off during use?
This may be due to overheating. The unit has a thermal cut-off that activates if water flow is insufficient or if the temperature exceeds the limit. Check the water flow and reduce the temperature setting. Reset by turning the unit off and on after cooling.
What does the model number ISH-3500BP stand for?
The '3500' indicates the power rating in watts (3500W). 'BP' likely refers to a specific series or design variant. It is an instant electric water heater.
Is the water heater safe to use in a bathroom?
Yes, it has an IPX4 rating, meaning it is splash-proof. It should not be directly sprayed. Install it away from water sources and ensure proper grounding.
What tools are needed for installation?
Basic plumbing tools (wrench, Teflon tape), electrical tools (screwdriver, voltage tester), and a drill for wall mounting. Consult the manual for a detailed list.
How long does it take to heat water?
As an instant heater, it heats water on demand. The output temperature depends on flow rate and inlet water temperature. A lower flow rate yields higher temperature.
Where can I find spare parts?
Spare parts such as heating elements, thermostats, and seals can be obtained from Imarflex authorized service centers or online. Use only genuine parts.

  3. Drill the holes and insert the tox.
  4. Fit the Shower Heater to the wall.

NOTE;

- The Control Knob is integral part of the front cover do not attempt to remove them.

Plumbing Connection

  1. Turn OFF the main water valve.
  2. Connect the water supply to the inlet of the Shower Heater using 12 " (.5mm) pipe with compression fitting.
  3. Turn ON the main water valve and check for leaks in the pipe work connection of the Shower Heater.

NOTE:

  • Before completing the connection of the water supply to the inlet of the Shower Heater, flush out the pipe work to remove all system debris.
  • Do not use joining compounds on any pipe fittings for the installation. Compression fittings must be used to connect the inlet of the Shower Heater.

Fitting the Shower Set

  1. Insert the Holder and the Soap Dish into the Rod.
  2. Fit the two Brackets into the two ends of the Rod with Holder and Soap Dish.
  3. Place the Brackets with Rod onto the wall and mark the two fixing holes.
  4. Drill the holes and insert the tox.
  5. Fit the Brackets, Rod with Holder and Soap Dish onto the wall using the screw provided.
  6. Fit the flexible Hose to the Shower Head.
  7. Connect the flexible hose with Shower Head to the Shower Heater using the rubber sealing washer.
  8. Place the Shower Head in the Holder.

NOTE:

  • The Shower Head Holder should not be fixed at a location higher than the Shower Heater.
  • The pointed part of the flexible Hose should be fitted to the Shower Head.

Electrical Connection

  1. For electrical installation, disconnect the main power supply to avoid electric shock.
  2. Make sure to use the required wire size which is 14 AWG.
  3. Route the Wire into the Shower Heater and connect to the terminal block as follows:

• Live Wire to terminal marked L

• Neutral Wire to terminal marked N

- Earth Wire to terminal marked E

  1. Used the wire clamp to secure the wire. The clamp is suitable for 6mm^2 wires or can be reverse for 10mm^2 wires. If the wire is larger than 10mm^2 is been used, do not use the wire clamps but make sure that the wire is securely fitted.

NOTE:

  • Make sure that the terminal block screws are fully tightened and that no wire insulation is trapped under the screws.
  • The Shower Heater must be permanently connected to the electrical supply via a circuit breaker.
  • The Shower Heater should be earthed. Improper grounding may result in malfunctioning of ELCB. Never use the Shower Heater if there is a doubt on the grounding installation.
  • Do not switch on the electrical supply until the front cover has been fitted.

FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS

Light Indicators

  • POWER: As soon as the Power Control Knob is turned clockwise the indicator will turn ON but if the water pressure is not enough the power light indicator will still OFF then the shower heater is not functioning.
  • PUMP: The indicators will turn ON when the booster Pump is turned clockwise and it will turn OFF if the Pump Control Knob is in OFF position.
  • ELCB: It indicates that there is no electrical leakage in the system and the Shower Heater is safe to operate.

Control

  • POWER CONTROL KNOB: to set the desired water temperature.
  • PUMP CONTROL KNOB: to activate and control the speed of the Booster Pump.

- TEST BUTTON: to simulate the ELCB (Electronic Leakage Circuit Breaker). Once you press this button, the unit will automatically shut OFF.

- RESET BUTTON: to activate the unit.

NOTE:

- ELCB (Electronic Leakage Circuit Breaker)- this is a safety device that detects an electrical leakage and turns the unit OFF to protect the users.

- If the flow of water is too low to activate the Heater or Pump, press and hold the Pump button for a few seconds to build up the pressure and the Shower Heater and Pump will automatically turn ON.

HOW TO USE

  1. Make sure that the Power Control Knob is in OFF position before using.
  2. Turn the main water valve ON.
  3. Adjust the Water Flow Regulator Knob to desired water flow from the shower head.
  4. If the water flow is too low to turn ON the Shower Heater, adjust the Pump Control Knob clockwise to increase the flow of water.
  5. Adjust the Power Control Knob to the desired water temperature.
  6. Always turn the Power Control Knob to OFF position after use.

NOTE:

- If there are other branch pipes are connected to the main water supply, the pressure of the water will be lowered when other faucets are opened. In that case the water temperature will be increased and we should be aware of it.
