Frequently Asked Questions - IWB-1600S Imarflex

How do I install the Imarflex IWB-1600S water heater?
Installation should be done by a qualified professional. The unit must be mounted on a wall capable of supporting its weight when full. Ensure the power supply is disconnected before installation. Connect the water inlet and outlet using 1/2 inch BSP fittings, and attach the pressure relief valve as per the manual.
What is the maximum temperature setting?
The thermostat can be adjusted up to 75°C. For safety, it is recommended to set the temperature between 50-60°C to prevent scalding and reduce energy consumption.
How often should I descale the water heater?
Descaling should be performed every 6 months, especially in areas with hard water. Use a descaler suitable for enamel tanks and follow the instructions in the manual.
What does the pressure relief valve do?
The pressure relief valve releases excess pressure from the tank to prevent explosions. It may drip water during normal operation; ensure the drain pipe is directed to a safe location.
Why is my water heater not heating water?
Check if the power supply is on and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Ensure the thermostat is set above the current water temperature. If the problem persists, the heating element may be faulty and should be replaced by a professional.
Can the water heater be used with a timer?
Yes, you can connect an external timer to control operation. However, ensure the timer is rated for the heater's power (1600 W) and comply with local electrical codes.
How do I replace the anode rod?
The anode rod helps prevent corrosion. It should be checked every 2 years and replaced if heavily corroded. Drain the tank, unscrew the old anode, and install a new one with Teflon tape. Refer to the manual for exact location.
Is the water heater safe to leave on overnight?
Yes, the water heater is designed for continuous operation with built-in safety features like thermal cut-off. However, to save energy, you can use a timer to heat water only when needed.
What should I do if water leaks from the unit?
First, turn off the power and water supply. Check all connections for tightness. If the tank itself is leaking, it may be damaged and require replacement. Contact a service technician.
How long does it take to heat a full tank?
With a 1600 W element and 15 L capacity, it typically takes about 30-40 minutes to reach 60°C from a cold start, depending on the inlet water temperature.
