Installation 6 Measure and adjust the pH level of water
After the Alkaline Ionizer has been installed or after it has not been used for a prolonged period (generally, a week or more), be absolutely sure to measure the pH level, and check that it is within the "pH standard" before using the Alkaline Ionizer. Remember to measure the pH level periodically (at least once a month).
Note
• What is the pH level (ion concentration)?
The pH level indicates the degree of alkalinity, neutrality or acidity of water (aqueous solutions), and stands for "hydrogen ion exponent."

Procedure for measurement
What to have ready: pH test kit (supplied accessory)
Measure with Alkaline 3 and weak acidic water respectively.
1 Put 2 drops of pH test liquid in to the test tube.
- The pH cannot be determined accurately any amount other than 2 drops.
- If the test water is placed before the pH test liquid is added, the two liquids may not be evenly mixed, leading to incorrect measurement.

2 Place the water generated by this machine in a regular cup.
- Flush water at least 10 seconds in order to obtain a stable pH level.

natural_image
Illustration of a medical or laboratory device with tubing and a central container (no text or symbols visible)3 Put the sample water into the test tube.
- If some of the test water is first collected in a glass and then poured into the test tube, it will be easier to align the level with the line inside the test tube.
- So long as the water inside the test tube is within 5 mm above or below the line, no problems will be posed in the pH level measurement: there is no need to adjust the level until it comes up to the exact level of the line.

Pour the water until it is near the line inside the test tube.
4 Under the enough light, compare the result with the pH Chart.
The color of the test water will change as time passes.
Compare its pH level against the pH Chart right away.

OK in this range
| Water type | Alkaline ion water Level 3 | Weak acidic water |
| pH level standard | 9 ~ less than 10 | 5 ~ 6.5 |
EN22
When is adjustment necessary?
When the measurement results are beyond the range of "pH level standard", adjustment shall be made. After the completion of adjustment, the pH level shall be measured again.

EN28)Has the water supply been cut off ? (P. EN33)Is the water supply hose bent or fl attened? If the problem is still not solved after all of the above are checked, the cartridge may be clogged. Replace the cartridge. (P. EN30) | |
| Flow rate is too low is displayed | ||
| Not much water comes out of the Alkaline lonizer after the cartridge has been replaced | Did you run water for approx. 3 to 4 minutes after replacement?(P. EN30)(It is necessary to remove the air inside the cartridge) | |
| Much water comes out | The water amount from the main spout varies depending on the kind of water and/or selection of the water quality even though the amount of source water stays constant.Maximum flow varies depending on the kind of water and/or selection of the water quality. | |
| Reduce water flow has become more likely to be displayed | ||
| The water comes out from the main spout is warm | At an early stage of running of water, the water warmed by the room temperature or heat inside the Alkaline lonizer while water flow is stopped may come out.(This is not a malfunction. Allow the water to flowing before uses.) | |

Before Requesting a Repair Service (continued)
| Problem Check point | ||
| Drain hose | Water is drained even after the faucet is closed. | Water inside the main unit is drained every after use.(P. EN27, EN31) |
| Water is not drained while water other than purifi ed water is used. | Is the drain hose bent or fl attened? If water keeps running, it may cause malfunction. Also It can not electrolysis correctly.Rise ve is played? (P. EN27) | |
| Sound and buzzer | A buzzer does not beep while weak acidic water or acidic water is used. | Has “Weak acidic buzzer” been set to OFF? (P. EN32) |
| Sounds are heard from the unitafter the faucet has been turned off | A clicking sound may be heard from the main unit before water is drained.(This is not a malfunction) | |
| Odor, taste, turbidness, and change in color | The water produced by the Alkaline lonizer has an odor or unpleasant taste or is turbid | Purifi cation performance of the cartridge is deteriorated.→ Replace the cartridge. (P. EN30)If an odor occurs within 2 to 3 months after the cartridge is replaced, the water discharge line or waste water line may be soiled.→ Press the Acidic button, and run weak acidic water for approx. 15 seconds. |
| The smell at the beginning of use of water concerns me. | Since water is accumulated inside the main unit for 10 minutes after Alkaline level 1 to 3 and Purifi ed are used, there are rare cases where some people are sensitive to the smell of the main unit.→ If the smell concerns you, after a buzzer beeps, run water for a while before using. | |
| The weak acidic water has an odor | Electrolysis causes the chlorine ions in the water to collect in weak acidic water, forming hypochlorous acid.→ There’s no problem if you use it as is. | |
| White suspended matter is mixed in with the alkaline ion water | White floating matter is calcium deposited inside the main unit.Foam-like floating matter is the air inside the main unit or hydrogen foam generated during electrolysis.(There’s no problem if you use it as is.)This foam tends to be much generated after installation or cartridge replacement. In the case of weak acidic water, oxygen foam is generated. | |
| Alkaline ion water or purifi ed water looks shiny. | It is due to the precipitation of the components (mainly minerals) which are dissolved in the water.→ There’s no problem if you use it as is. But if it bothers you, use the Alkaline lonizer at a reduced pH (ion concentration) level. | |
