Frequently Asked Questions - VC-B20U Lumens

How do I connect the VC-B20U to my computer?

Use the included USB 3.0 cable to connect the camera's USB 3.0 connector to a USB 3.0 port on your computer. For optimal performance, ensure your system meets the requirements (Windows 7+, Mac OS X 10.8+, or Chrome OS).

Why is there no image from the camera?

First, check that the power cable is connected and the camera is turned on (green LED). Ensure your display supports the output resolution (default 1080p). Try replacing the USB cable. If using USB 2.0, reduce resolution to 720p.

How do I save a camera preset position?

Using the remote control, press Preset followed by a digit (0-9) to save the current lens position. For up to 127 positions, use the VISCA command via RS232.

How do I clean the camera lens?

Unplug all cables before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. For the lens, use a lens cleaning cloth or blower.

What is the maximum resolution supported?

The camera supports up to 1920x1080 at 60 fps via USB 3.0 in YUV2 and MJPEG formats. Over USB 2.0, maximum resolution is 640x480 at 30 fps.

Can I use the camera with Mac?

Yes, the VC-B20U is compatible with Mac OS X 10.8 or above. If you experience flickering or freezing, set DIP switch 4 at the bottom of the camera to ON for Mac OS X 10.10 or below.

How do I adjust the focus?

Press AF on the remote for auto-focus. For manual focus, press MF and then use the Focus +/- buttons to adjust.

Why does the camera go into standby mode automatically?

The camera automatically enters standby mode 5 seconds after the video is turned off in your conferencing software. This saves power and protects privacy. It will wake up when video is turned on again.

How do I change the power frequency setting?

Use the DIP switches at the bottom of the camera. Set DIP 3 to ON for 60 Hz, OFF for 50 Hz. Refer to the manual for details.

What should I do if the remote control doesn't work?

Ensure the camera is connected to a computer and video software is running. Keep the camera away from direct sunlight and avoid interference from energy-saving bulbs or IR touch screens. If multiple cameras are used, operate only one remote at a time.

1 Operation

1.1 Please use the product in the recommended operating environment.
1.2 Do not place the product in tilted position.

2 Installation

2.1 For security considerations, please make sure the standard hanging rack you bought is in line with UL or CE safety approbations and installed by technician personnel approved by agents.

3 Storage

3.1 Do not place the Product where the cord can be stepped on as this may result in fraying or damage to the lead or the plug.
3.2 Never push objects of any kind through cabinet slots. Never allow liquid of any kind to spill into the Product.
3.3 Unplug this product during thunderstorms or if it is not going to be used for an extended period.
3.4 Do not place this product or accessories on top of vibrating equipment or heated objects.

4 Cleaning

4.1 Unplug all the cables before cleaning. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.

3.2 Description of LED indicator

3.2.1 Power :

3.2.1.1 No light: Power off
3.2.1.2 Orange light: In standby mode
3.2.1.3 Green light: In use

3.2.2 Standby:

3.2.2.1 No light: Power on
3.2.2.2 Orange light: Startup in progress or in standby mode; USB not connected
3.2.2.3 Green light: In standby mode, to connect USB
3.2.2.4 Flickering orange: Power off in progress

3.3 System Requirements

4.1 Preparation Before Installation

Installation and connection of HD camera requires special skills. To install by yourself, please follow necessary steps, ensure steady and tight installation of the device, and pay attention to your safety to avoid any accident.

4.1.1 Ensure the safety of the installation environment. Please do not install the device on unstable ceiling or in a place where the device is in danger of falling to avoid any accident.

4.1.2 Please check whether accessories in the box are complete or not. Please contact the supplier for any shortage, and make sure to keep the accessories in the box intact.

4.1.3 Please choose a proper place for installation of camera in advance. Please determine an installation place according to the following requirements.

4.1.1.1 Confirm the position for the object to be captured.

4.1.1.2 Confirm whether the camera is set at a proper distance from other light sources.

4.2 Instruction for installation

1. Before installation, please confirm the orientation of the machine relative to the object to be captured
2. It is recommended that the machine should be set at a distance of more than 1 meter away from the object to be captured.
   Please adjust for a best distance according to the magnification of the lens

1. Press [Preset + ID] on the remote control to save the current position data.

1. Press [Reset + ID] on the remote control to clear the given position data.

2. ID shall be a digit [0 \~ 9].

6.3 I would like to turn on the back light compensation function

1. Press [Back Light] on the remote control to turn on or turn off the back light compensation

6.4 I would like to adjust the shooting angle of the lens

1. Press [Tilt ▲] or [Tilt ▼] on the remote control to adjust the angle upward or downward.
2. Press [Pan ▶] or [Pan ◀] on the remote control to adjust the angle to right or left.
3. Press [Pan - Tilt Reset] on the remote control to reset the angle to the center point.

6.5 I would like to zoom in/out images

6.5.1 Adjust image size

1. Press [Fast +] on the remote control to zoom in images.
2. Press [Fast -] on the remote control to zoom out images.

6.5.2 Fine-tune image size

1. Press [Slow +] on the remote control to zoom in images.
2. Press [Slow -] on the remote control to zoom out images.

6.6 I would like to adjust the focal length

6.6.1 Auto tune

1. Press [AF] on the remote control to adjust automatically.

6.6.2 Manual focus

1. Press [MF] on the remote control to turn on the manual focus function.

3.	VC-B20U cannot be operated by remote control	1. Please confirm that VC-B20U has been connected to the computer, and launch video software.2. Please prevent VC-B20U from direct sunshine.3. Make sure the energy-saving bulb and the IR touch screen are as far as possible in order to avoid interference.4. When several VC-B20U are connected in the same area, the operation of two remote controls at the same time may result in signal interference. It is recommended to use one remote control only.
4.	Windows vista/ Windows 7 do not support YUV2 1920 x 1080 resolution @60 fps	1. YUV2 1920 x 1080@60 fps is supported by USB 3.0 only. Please connect to USB 3.0 Host2. If the YUV2 1920 x 1080@60 fps is connected to but not supported by the USB 3.0 Host, please adjust the resolution to 720P
5.	When connected to the MAC computer, the video screen flicker or freeze	If Mac OS X 10.10 or below is used, please switch the DIP Switch-DIP4 at the bottom of the camera to ON.
6.	Automatically activate Standby mode	5 seconds after the user turns off the video of the video conference software, VC-B20U will activate Standby mode automatically. The lens will be closedautomatically (to comply with personal privacy requirement). When the user turns on the video once again, VC-B20U will automatically activate the Power on mode.
