Frequently Asked Questions - NZ-1212B-UK Coline

How do I clean the stone plate?
Wash the stone plate in hot water. Use a spatula (not metal) to remove food residue. Never use dishwashing detergent, as it can be absorbed and discolor the pizza. For thorough cleaning, apply a mixture of 75 g sodium bicarbonate with 3 teaspoons of water, let it sit for 15-20 minutes, then rinse and dry completely.
Why does the oven smell when first used?
The pizza oven may emit an odor of burning the first time it is used. This is normal. To eliminate it, run the oven empty at temperature setting 2 for 10 minutes, then at setting 3 for 5 minutes before using it for pizza.
How do I set the timer for less than 15 minutes?
To set the timer for a time shorter than 15 minutes, turn the knob past (to a longer time) the desired time, then turn it back to the correct time. This ensures the mechanism engages properly.
What size pizza can I use?
The oven is designed for pizzas up to 30 cm in diameter. Never try to fit a larger pizza.
Can I use metal utensils on the stone plate?
No. Use only utensils made of non-metal materials, such as a spatula or similar, to remove pizza or clean the stone plate. Metal can scratch or damage the stone.
What do the temperature settings mean?
Position 1 is the lowest temperature, ideal for keeping pizzas warm. Position 2 is generally best for baking normal pizzas. Position 3 is the highest, best for pizzas with extra toppings that require more heat.
How do I know when the oven is ready?
When the heat indicator light goes out, the oven has reached the correct temperature and is ready for baking. The light cycles on and off during baking as the thermostat maintains temperature.
Can I leave the oven unattended while it is on?
No. Never leave the product unsupervised when it is connected to an electrical socket. Always monitor the baking process, especially if you are making pizzas with a high crust that might touch the heating element.
What should I do if my pizza starts to burn?
If the topping starts to burn, reduce the temperature setting or open the lid carefully (use an oven glove) to release steam. Monitor the baking closely in future and consider using a lower temperature or shorter time.
How should I store the pizza oven?
Allow the oven to cool completely before storing. Wipe it dry and place it on a level, heat-resistant surface. Keep it away from flammable materials. Always unplug after use.
