The locking of the SMEG SFP111S door occurs in two main situations:
Child Safety Mode Active
If the child safety mode is activated, the controls and the door automatically lock after one minute of operation without intervention. To temporarily unlock the door, hold the programming knob down for 5 seconds. The lock will reactivate after one minute of inactivity.
You can also completely unlock the device by pressing the function knob for 3 seconds to turn it off instantly. This action also unlocks the door.
During the Pyrolysis Cycle
During a pyrolysis cleaning, the door remains locked until the temperature has dropped to a safe level. The lock indicator will turn off automatically once the oven has cooled sufficiently, indicating that the door can be opened.
In normal operation, if the door does not open despite pressing the handle, first check if the child safety mode is active or if a pyrolysis cycle is in progress.
