Frequently Asked Questions - ORC98G OMEGA

What is the recommended installation height for the ORC98G range hood?
The recommended distance between the cooking surface and the range hood is 65-75 cm (26-30 inches) for optimal performance.
How do I clean the grease filters?
The aluminum grease filters can be cleaned by soaking in warm water (40-50°C) with mild detergent and gently scrubbing with a soft brush, or placed in a dishwasher at around 60°C. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing.
Can the ORC98G be used in recirculation mode?
Yes, if you use recirculation mode, you must install activated charcoal filters above the grease filters to absorb odors.
How do I replace the charcoal filters?
Remove the grease filters first. Then twist the charcoal filter in the direction indicated (usually a quarter turn) to release it. Install the new filter by twisting in the opposite direction until locked.
Why is the light on but the motor not working?
Possible causes: the fan may be blocked, the capacitor could be damaged, or the motor may be jammed. Check for obstructions first; if the problem persists, contact a qualified technician.
What should I do if the range hood shakes during operation?
Shaking can be due to a damaged fan, loose motor mounts, or the hood not being securely fixed to the wall. Tighten all screws and check the fan condition. If needed, replace the fan.
How often should I clean the grease filters?
It is recommended to clean the grease filters every month to prevent grease buildup and maintain performance.
Can the range hood be installed over a gas cooktop?
Yes, but ensure adequate ventilation. The range hood must not share the same flue as gas appliances. Follow the installation height guidelines (65-75 cm) and local safety regulations.
What type of light bulbs does the ORC98G use?
It uses halogen capsule lamps with a power rating of 20W each (12V). Ensure replacement bulbs match the specifications.
Is professional installation required?
Yes, installation must be performed by a qualified electrician and competent installer to ensure safety and proper function.
