How to turn off or minimize the screen of the SMEG SFP109S when not in use?

The SMEG SFP109S oven does not have a true screen off function, as the appliance is always powered and controlled by its knobs. However, you can put the appliance in standby mode which significantly reduces consumption:
- Turn the function knob to position 0 (symbol O) - this is standby mode. The display will continue to show the current time, but no heating elements are active.
In standby mode, only the digital display remains powered to show the time. This is the most energy-efficient setting available on this model.
To further optimize energy consumption:
- Finish cooking a few minutes early to use residual heat
- Minimize door openings during cooking to avoid heat loss
- Use Low Power mode (LO) instead of normal power (HI) if the recipe allows
