Frequently Asked Questions - BTDT2-919 BRIGMTON

How do I perform the first installation?
Connect the antenna to RF IN, connect the receiver to your TV via HDMI or SCART, then plug in the power. The first installation wizard will appear. Set language, country, time zone, and start an automatic channel search. See section 2.1 of the manual.
How can I use the Electronic Program Guide (EPG)?
Press the EPG button on the remote control. You can browse current and next programs for each channel. Use UP/DOWN to select channels and PAGE -/+ to view different time slots. Press EXIT or EPG again to close.
How do I set subtitles?
Press the SUBTITLE button to open the subtitle menu. You can select a preferred subtitle language. To enable Teletext subtitles, press the TEXT button first, then subtitles. Default subtitles are off. See sections 2.4 and 2.5.
Can I record TV programs?
Yes, the receiver supports PVR (Personal Video Recorder) via USB. Connect a USB storage device to the USB port. Then you can record live TV or schedule recordings using the EPG or PVR menu. The time shift function also allows pausing live TV.
How do I update the software?
Download the latest firmware from the Brigmton website to a USB drive. Insert the USB into the receiver. Go to the settings menu and select 'Software Update' or follow the on-screen instructions. Do not turn off the device during update.
What connections do I need for the best picture quality?
For the best quality, use an HDMI cable to connect the receiver to your TV. This provides both high-definition video and audio. Alternatively, SCART can be used for standard definition. For audio, you can use the coaxial digital output to connect to an amplifier.
Why is my remote control not working?
Check that the batteries are inserted correctly and are fresh. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver's sensor (front panel). Bright sunlight can reduce sensitivity. The range is up to 7 meters at an angle of 60 degrees.
How do I change the OSD language?
Press the MENU button, go to 'Preference', then 'OSD Language'. Select your desired language from the list and confirm. The menu will change immediately.
Can I use a USB hub to connect multiple devices?
The USB port is intended for a single storage device for PVR or media playback. Using a hub may cause compatibility issues or insufficient power. It is recommended to connect one device directly.
What should I do if the receiver freezes or stops responding?
Try unplugging the power cord for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in. This will restart the unit. If the problem persists, check for software updates or contact Brigmton support.
