How do I clean the air filter?

Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the filter mesh, vacuum dust, rinse under running water in the opposite direction of airflow, and let it air dry completely before reinstalling. Clean every two weeks.

What does error code E1 mean?

E1 indicates an ambient temperature sensor failure. Check the sensor connection or replace it. If unsure, contact a qualified technician.

Can I use an extension cord with this air conditioner?

No, do not use an extension cord or adapter plug. Plug the unit directly into a grounded power outlet.

What refrigerant does the PA240 use?

The unit uses R-290 (propane) refrigerant, which is flammable. Only qualified technicians should service the sealed refrigerant loop.

How do I drain the water manually?

When the water tank is full, unplug the unit, place a container below the side water outlet, remove the water plug, and let the water drain. Replace the plug before restarting.

What is the minimum room size required for installation?

The unit must be installed in a room with a minimum area of 7 m². Ensure the room is well-ventilated and free from ignition sources.

How do I set the timer?

Press the Timer button on the remote or control panel, then use the Up/Down buttons to set the desired delay (1-24 hours). Press Timer again to confirm or press Power to exit.

Why does the unit stop cooling?

The air conditioner stops cooling when the room temperature drops below the selected temperature. This is normal. Also check if the filter is dirty or the exhaust hose is blocked.

What does error code Ft mean?

Ft indicates a condensate water high level alarm. Empty the drain pan by removing the rubber plug at the back of the unit.

Can I extend the exhaust hose?

No, extending the exhaust hose may reduce cooling performance and cause the unit to shut down due to low backpressure. Use only the supplied hose.

General Fuel Safety

• Petrol/fuel/gasoline is extremely flammable – keep clear of naked flames or other ignition sources.
• Do not spill fuel. If you spill fuel, wipe it off the equipment immediately – if fuel gets on your clothing, change clothing.
• Do NOT smoke near fuel or when refuelling.
  • Always shut off the engine before refuelling.
• Do NOT refuel a hot engine.
• Open the fuel cap carefully to allow any pressure build-up in the tank to release slowly.
  • Always refuel in well-ventilated areas.
• Always check for fuel leakage. If fuel leakage is found, do not start, or run the engine until all leaks are fixed.

General Carbon-Monoxide Safety

• Using a combustion engine indoors CAN KILL IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains carbon-monoxide – a poison you cannot smell or see.
• Use combustion engines OUTSIDE only, and far away from windows, doors, and vents.

General Equipment Use and Care

General Electrical Safety

Intended Use

• This appliance is intended for use by expert or trained users in shops, light industry, farms, or for commercial use by laypersons.
• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children without supervision.

Designated Refrigerant

• The unit is designed only for use with R-290 (propane) gas as the designated refrigerant.
• The refrigerant loop is sealed and should only be serviced by a qualified technician.
• Do not discharge the refrigerant into the atmosphere.

Propane Gas Safety

• R-290 (propane) is flammable and heavier than air. It collects first in low areas but can be circulated by the fans.
• If propane gas is present or even suspected, do not allow untrained personnel to attempt to find the cause.
• The propane gas used in the unit has no odour. The lack of smell does not indicate a lack of escaped gas.
• If a leak is detected, immediately evacuate all persons from the area, ventilate the room, and contact the local fire department to advise them of a propane leak.
• Do not allow anyone back into the room until a qualified service technician has arrived and confirmed it is safe to return.
• No open flames, cigarettes, or other possible sources of ignition should be used inside or near the units.
• Component parts are designed for propane and are non-incendiary and non-sparking. Only identical replacement parts should be used for repairs.
• FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THIS WARNING COULD RESULT IN AN EXPLOSION, DEATH, INJURY, AND PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Power Supply and Cord Safety

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
• The appliance must be disconnected from its power source during service.
  • Always operate the unit from a power source of equal voltage, frequency, and rating as indicated on the product identification plate.
  • Always use a grounded power outlet.
• Unplug the power cord when cleaning or when not in use.

Installation and Storage

• The unit shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.
• Do not use means to accelerate the defrosting process or to clean other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
• The appliance shall be stored in a room without continuously operating sources (e.g., open flames, an operating gas appliance, or an operating electric heater).
• The appliance shall be stored to prevent mechanical damage from occurring.
• Do not pierce or burn the unit, even after use.
• Be aware that refrigerants may not contain an odour.
• Pipework shall be protected from physical damage and shall not be installed in an unventilated space if that space is smaller than 7m^2 .
• Compliance with national gas regulations shall be observed.
• Keep any required ventilation openings clear of obstruction.
• The appliance shall be stored in a well-ventilated area where the room size corresponds to the room area specified for operation.

- Any person involved in working on or breaking into a refrigerant circuit must hold a current valid certificate from an industry-accredited assessment authority. This certificate authorises their competence to handle refrigerants safely in accordance with an industry-recognised assessment specification.

• Maintenance and repair requiring the assistance of other skilled personnel shall be carried out under the supervision of a person competent in the use of flammable refrigerants.

Safety Precautions on Servicing

• Please follow these warnings when servicing an appliance with R290.
• CHECKS TO THE AREA: Prior to beginning work on systems containing flammable refrigerants, safety checks are necessary to ensure that the risk of ignition is minimized. For repairs to the refrigerating system, the following precautions shall be complied with before conducting work on the system.
• WORK PROCEDURE: Work shall be undertaken under a controlled procedure to minimize the risk of a flammable gas or vapour being present while the work is being performed.
• GENERAL WORK AREA: All maintenance staff and others working in the local area shall be instructed on the nature of the work being carried out. Work in confined spaces shall be avoided. The area around the workspace shall be sectioned off. Ensure that the conditions within the area have been made safe by controlling flammable materials.
• CHECKING FOR PRESENCE OF REFRIGERANT: The area shall be checked with an appropriate refrigerant detector prior to and during work to ensure the technician is aware of potentially flammable atmospheres. Ensure that the leak detection equipment being used is suitable for use with flammable refrigerants, i.e. non-sparking, adequately sealed, or intrinsically safe.
• PRESENCE OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER: If any hot work is to be conducted on the refrigeration equipment or any associated parts, appropriate fire extinguishing equipment shall be available. Have a dry powder or CO2 fire extinguisher adjacent to the charging area.

• NO IGNITION SOURCES: No person carrying out work on a refrigeration system that involves exposing any pipework containing or that has contained flammable refrigerant shall use any ignition sources that may lead to the risk of fire or explosion. All possible ignition sources, including cigarette smoking, should be kept sufficiently far away from the site of installation, repair, removal, and disposal, during which flammable refrigerant may be released into the surrounding space. Before work begins, the area around the equipment must be surveyed to ensure there are no flammable hazards or ignition risks. "No Smoking" signs shall be displayed.

• VENTILATED AREA: Ensure the area is open or adequately ventilated before breaking into the system or conducting any hot work. Ventilation should continue during the period that the work is carried out to safely disperse any released refrigerant and preferably expel it externally into the atmosphere.

• CHECKS TO THE REFRIGERATION EQUIPMENT: When changing electrical components, they must be fit for purpose and to the correct specification. At all times, the manufacturer's maintenance and service guidelines shall be followed. If in doubt, consult the manufacturer's technical department for assistance.

• The following checks shall be applied to installations using flammable refrigerants:

• The charge size is in accordance with the room size within which the refrigerant-containing parts are installed.

• The ventilation machinery and outlets are operating adequately and are not obstructed.
• If an indirect refrigerating circuit is being used, the secondary circuit shall be checked for the presence of refrigerant.
• Marking on the equipment continues to be visible and legible. Illegible markings and signs shall be corrected.

• Refrigeration pipes or components are installed in positions where they are unlikely to be exposed to any substances that may corrode refrigerant-containing components, unless the components are constructed of materials inherently resistant to corrosion or are suitably protected against corrosion.

• CHECKS TO ELECTRICAL DEVICES: Repair and maintenance of electrical components shall include initial safety checks and component inspection procedures. If a fault exists that could compromise safety, no electrical supply shall be connected to the circuit until it is satisfactorily dealt with. If the fault cannot be corrected immediately but it is necessary to continue operation, an adequate temporary solution shall be used. This shall be reported to the owner of the equipment, so all parties are advised.

• Initial safety checks shall include:

• Ensuring capacitors are discharged safely to avoid the possibility of sparking.

• Ensuring no live electrical components and wiring are exposed while charging, recovering, or purging the system.

• Ensuring continuity of earth bonding.

• WARNING! INSTALL THE UNIT IN ROOMS WITH A MINIMUM AREA OF 7M². DO NOT INSTALL THE UNIT IN PLACES WHERE INFLAMMABLE GAS MAY LEAK.

Choosing Your Location

• Initial Setup: If the unit has been tipped more than 45^ , allow it to sit upright for at least 24 hours before starting it up.
• Placement: Place the unit on a firm, level surface in an area with at least 50 cm of free space around it to allow for proper air circulation.
  Do not operate the unit near walls, curtains, or other objects that may block the air inlet and outlet. Keep the air inlet and outlet free of obstacles.
• Avoid These Locations: Never install the unit where it could be subject to:

• Heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products that produce heat.

• Direct sunlight.

• Mechanical vibration or shock.
• Excessive dust.
  – Lack of ventilation, such as in a cabinet or bookcase.

WARNING! Install the unit in rooms with a minimum area of 7m^2 . Do not install the unit in places where inflammable gas may leak.

Attaching the Exhaust Hose

The air conditioner requires venting outside to expel exhaust air, which contains waste heat and moisture, from the room. Do not replace or extend the exhaust hose, as this will decrease efficiency and may cause the unit to shut down due to low backpressure.

1. Connect the hose connector to one end of the exhaust hose.

1. Connect the window kit adapter to the other end of the exhaust hose.

NOTE: Extending the length of the included exhaust hose may result in reduced cooling performance. We do not recommend adding extra lengths of exhaust hose.

1. Extend the adjustable window kit to the length of your window. Connect the exhaust hose to the window kit.

1. Close your window to secure the kit in place. It needs to hold the window kit firmly in place; secure the window kit with duct tape if required. It is recommended that the gap between the adapter and the sides of the window should be sealed off for maximum efficiency.

1. Attach the hose connector to the exhaust air outlet of the unit.

1. Adjust the length of the flexible exhaust hose, avoiding bends in the hose. Then place the air conditioner near an electrical outlet.

Settings

Start-up and Shutdown

1. Press POWER to turn the unit on.
2. Press the MODE button to select the desired operation mode.
3. Press POWER again to turn off the unit.

Operation Mode

The unit has four operation modes: Fan, Cool, Dehumidify, Sleep.

Cooling Your Room

1. Select the cool mode to lower the temperature in your room.
2. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the COOL indicator lights up.
3. Press the UP/DOWN button to adjust the temperature, which is displayed on the screen. The temperature can be set between 16°C and 32°C.
4. Press the SPEED button repeatedly until the desired fan speed indicator lights up.
5. To control the direction of the airflow horizontally, adjust the inner louvre by hand.

NOTE: The air conditioner stops if the room temperature is lower than the selected temperature.

Ventilating Your Room

1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the FAN indicator lights up. In ventilation mode, the room air is circulated but not cooled.
2. Press the SPEED button repeatedly to select the fan speed as desired.

Drying Your Room

1. Press the MODE button on the control panel or remote control until the dry indicator lights up. The fan speed cannot be selected in this mode.
2. Connect the hose to the drain outlet at the bottom of the unit.

NOTE: In this mode, the fan speed switches to low speed and cannot be adjusted.

Sleep Mode

The sleep mode can be activated when in cool mode.

• In cool mode:

• After 1 hour, the preset temperature increases by 1^ . After another hour, the preset temperature increases by another 1^ .
• The temperature then remains constant for 10 hours.
• All the indicators dim to dark.
• The fan speed may switch to low speed for silent operation and cannot be selected.

Timer Setting (1 hour - 24 hours)

The timer has two ways of operation:

Press Up /Down repeatedly until the LED shows '00'. Note: when press POWER will also exit the timer setting.

Automatic Defrost

At low room temperatures, frost may build up at the evaporator during operation. The unit will automatically start defrosting, indicated by the POWER LED blinking. The defrost control sequence is as follows:

- When the unit operates in cooling or drying mode, if the ambient temperature sensor detects that the evaporator coil temperature is below -1°C, the compressor will stop operating for 10 minutes or until the coil temperature rises to 7°C. The unit will then restart in cooling mode.

Overload Protection

In the event of a power loss, to protect the compressor, there is a 3-minute delay before the compressor restarts.

Drainage

Manual Drainage

1. When the machine stops after the water tank is full, unplug the power plug.

NOTE: Move the machine carefully to avoid spilling the water in the water pan at the bottom of the body.

1. Place a water container below the side water outlet at the back of the body.
2. Unplug the water plug, allowing the water to automatically flow into the water container.

NOTE: Keep the water plug properly. During drainage, the body can be tilted slightly backwards. If the water container cannot hold all the water, plug the water outlet with the water plug before the container is full to prevent water from spilling onto the floor or carpet.

1. Once the water is discharged, replace the water plug.

NOTE: Restart the machine only after the water plug and drainage cover are installed. Failure to do so may cause condensate water to flow onto the floor or carpet.

Continuous Drainage

The self-evaporating system uses the collected water to cool the condenser coils for better efficiency. It is not necessary to empty the drainage tank during cooling operation, except during drying operation and high humidity conditions. The condensate water evaporates at the condenser and is evacuated through the exhaust hose.

For continuous operation or unattended operation in drying mode, please connect the attached drain hose to the unit. Condensate water can automatically flow into a bucket or drain by gravity.

Steps for Continuous Drainage:

1. Switch off the unit before operating.
2. Remove the plug of the water outlet opening and keep it in a safe area.
3. Securely and properly connect the drainage hose, ensuring it is not kinked and is clear of obstructions.
4. Place the outlet of the hose over a drain or bucket and ensure that water can freely flow out of the unit.

NOTE: Do not submerge the end of the hose into water, as this can cause an "air lock" in the hose.

To Avoid Water Spillage:

• Due to the large negative pressure of the condensate drain pan, tilt the drain hose downward toward the floor. The degree of inclination should exceed 20 degrees.
• Straighten the hose to avoid any traps that could restrict water flow.

Maintenance

Cleaning The Air Filter (Every Two Weeks)

Dust collects on the filter and restricts the airflow. Restricted airflow reduces the efficiency of the system, and if it becomes blocked, it can cause damage to the unit. The air filter requires regular cleaning and is removable for easy maintenance. Do not operate the unit without an air filter, as the evaporator may become contaminated.

Steps for Cleaning the Air Filter:

1. Press the POWER button to switch off the unit and unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the filter mesh from the unit.
3. Use a vacuum cleaner to suck dust from the filter.
4. Turn the filter over and rinse the air filter under running water. Let the water run through the filter in the opposite direction of the airflow.
5. Set aside and allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling it.

Switch off the unit and remove the air filters. Rinse the air filter under running water.

WARNING! Do not touch the evaporator surface with bare hands, as it could cause injury to your fingers.

Cleaning Up of Refrigerant

General Measures:

• Gas/vapour is heavier than air and may accumulate in confined spaces, particularly at or below ground level.
- Eliminate every possible source of ignition.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Evacuate unnecessary personnel, isolate, and ventilate the area.
- Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Do not breathe vapours or gas.
• Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.
- Stop the source of the release if safe to do so. Consider the use of water spray to disperse vapours.
- Isolate the area until the gas has dispersed. Ventilate and test the gas levels before entering. Contact competent authorities after a spill.

Troubleshooting

Symptom		Inspection	Solution
The unit is not operating.		Check the power connection is secure.	Insert the power cord securely into the wall outlet.
		Check if the water level indicator lights up.	Empty the drain pan by removing the rubber plug.
		Check the room temperature.	The range of operating temperature is 5-35°C.

		Check if the air duct is blocked.	Clear the obstacle.
		Check if the room door or window is open.	Keep the door and windows closed.
		Check if the desired operating mode is selected and the temperature is properly set.	Set the mode and temperature at the proper set point according to the manual.
		The exhaust hose is detached.	Make sure the exhaust hose is securely attached.
Water Leakage		Overflow while moving the unit.	Empty the water tank before transport.
		Check if the drain hose is kinked or bends.	Straighten the hose to avoid a trap existing.
Excessive Noise		Check if the unit is securely positioned.	Place the unit on horizontal and firm ground.
		Check if there are any loose, vibrating parts.	Secure and tight the parts.
		Noise sounds like water flowing.	Noise comes from flowing refrigerant. This is normal.
Error Codes	E0	Communication faults between main PCB and display PCB.	Check the wire harness of the display PCB for damage.
	E1	Ambient temperature sensor failure	Check connection or replace it. To clean or replace the temperature sensor.
	E2	Coil temperature sensor failures.	Check connection or replace it. To clean or replace the temperature sensor.
	Ft	Condensate water high level alarm.	Empty the drain pan by removing the rubber plug.

Storage

Long-Term Storage:

If you will not be using the unit for an extended period (more than a few weeks), it is best to clean and dry the unit completely. Please store the unit following these steps:

1. Unplug the unit and remove the exhaust hose and window kit. Store them with the unit.
2. Drain the remaining water from the unit.
3. Clean the filter and let it dry completely in a shaded area.
4. Re-install the filter in its position.
5. Keep the unit in an upright position when in storage.
6. Store the machine in a ventilated, dry, non-corrosive, and safe indoor place.

ATTENTION: The evaporator inside the machine must be dried out before packing the unit to avoid component damage and mould growth. Unplug the unit and place it in a dry, open area for several days to dry it out.

• Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste; use separate collection facilities.
• Contact your local government for information regarding the available collection systems.
