Frequently Asked Questions - DashCam-408 ROLLEI

What type of memory card does the Rollei DashCam-408 use?
It uses a Micro SD / TF card of Class 10 or above, with capacity from 8GB up to 64GB. It is recommended to format the card before first use.
How do I install the dashcam on my windshield?
Clean the windshield, attach the suction cup below the mirror, adjust the angle, and lock the suction cup. Then mount the DashCam-408 onto the holder and connect the power cable. Ensure it is securely fixed before driving.
How does the emergency recording work?
Emergency recording can be triggered manually by pressing the POWER button during recording (only in emergencies). It automatically triggers when the G-sensor detects a collision. The manual saves the current, previous, and next video; the automatic saves one minute before and after the event.
Can the dashcam record when the car is parked?
Yes, the Parking Monitor feature starts recording when a shock is detected. Also, Motion Detection can start recording when motion is detected, even if the device is turned off.
How do I change the language on the device?
Go to Menu settings, use the up/down buttons to select 'Language', choose your desired language from the list, and confirm with the OK button. The device supports multiple languages including German and English.
How do I reset the dashcam to factory settings?
In the Menu, navigate to 'Default' and confirm. Alternatively, use the RESET button (small hole) on the device with a pin if the menu is inaccessible.
What should I do if the dashcam is not recording properly?
First, ensure the TF card is inserted and formatted (use 'Format' in the menu). Check that the card is Class 10 and not full. If issues persist, try resetting the device or updating the firmware (check the manufacturer's website).
How long does the battery last?
The built-in 300 mAh lithium-ion battery provides short-term backup for parking mode or manual use. For continuous recording, the dashcam should be connected to the car's power supply via the included charger.
Does the dashcam have GPS?
Yes, it has a built-in GPS receiver that shows GPS status and can record location data in videos (if supported by the firmware). You can view GPS status in the menu.
