Before the First Use

Please read the operating instructions and the safety instructions carefully before using the device for the first time. Keep the operating instructions together with the device for future use. If you pass on the device to a third party, this manual is part of the device and must be supplied with the device.

Safety Instructions

1. Only connect the product if the mains voltage of the USB input or USB power supply corresponds to the information on the type plate on the back of the product.
2. Do not use the product if it is visibly damaged or if the cable is defective.
3. Use only the USB-C cable supplied.
4. If the product or accessories are damaged, they must be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards.
5. The housing must not be opened and repairs may only be carried out by a specialist. To do this, contact a specialist workshop. In the event of repairs by the user, improper connection or incorrect operation, all liability and warranty claims are excluded.
6. Do not insert any objects into the product.
7. Do not leave the product unattended during operation.
8. Protect the product from moisture. Do not touch it with wet / damp hands or submerge it in water.
9. This product is not waterproof! Do not use this product in the rain or in wet areas.
10. Do not open, damage, short circuit, bypass, or use the battery for any other purpose.
11. Keep the battery away from children or animals, open flames and liquids and do not expose it to temperatures higher than 50° C. In addition, observe the information on caring for the battery in these operating instructions.

Safety Instructions

1. Do not use or store the device at high temperatures or in closed rooms with direct sunlight and do not charge the battery during this time. The product should no longer be used at ambient temperatures of more than 40\ °C .
2. Do not use the device in the vicinity of flammable gases or liquids, as this can lead to explosions.
3. Do not point the product at drivers of cars, buses, bicycles, motorcyclists, or train drivers while driving. The driver can be blinded and cause an accident. This also applies to persons or groups not listed if an accident could be caused by possible glare.
4. Do not point the product directly into the eyes of people or animals, as this can damage the retina, impair vision and even lead to blindness.
5. The device is not a toy. Keep the device, accessories and packaging materials away from children and pets to prevent accidents and suffocation.
6. Provide adequate ventilation during operation. Never cover the device.
7. If you sell the product to someone else, give up also pass these operating instructions on to this person.

Note: For lighting for photographic purposes only. Not suitable for permanent room lighting.

Precautions

1. Fully charge the battery, then disconnect the USB cable.
2. If the product has not been used for a long period of time, charge the battery before using it again.
3. To extend the battery life, you should charge the battery at least every three months.
4. This product has a built-in, rechargeable battery that has a specific run time. If this has been used for a certain period of time, the performance of the battery will be reduced. This is normal.
5. If the device is used in too cold or too hot ambient temperatures, the device switches off automatically.
6. Please have the product checked by an authorized service center if a problem occurs. You are not permitted to dismantle the product if it malfunctions. Otherwise your guarantee will be void.

Product Overview

Setup

The smartphone holder [12] can be connected with the Rollei LUMIS U-Light via the adjustment wheel with 1/4 " screw [1]. Once attached, you can attach your smartphone to the smartphone holder [12]. Alternatively, you can also use the 1/4 " screw of the adjustment wheel [1] to attach your webcam with 1/4 " screw thread to the Rollei LUMIS U-Light.

On/off button, mode button and setting wheels

On / Off button and mode button [6]

The Rollei LUMIS U-Light can be switched on and off via pushing the on / off button and mode button [6] long. By pushing the button shortly, a part of the LEDs can be switched off. By pushing it shortly again, the LEDs can be fully switched on again.

Turning wheel for the regulation of the brightness [4]

The brightness can be steplessly regulated via the turning wheel for the regulation of the brightness [4].

Turning wheel for the regulation of colour temperature [5]

The colour temperatures can be steplessly set between cool white and warm white (between 2500 K and 8500 K) via the turning wheel for the regulation of colour temperature [5].

Battery indicator [7]

While being charged, the battery indicator is flashing in green. When fully charged, the four battery indicators constantly light up in green.

Note:

• Please only use power adapters with a minimum of DC 5 V / 2A and a maximum of 9 V / 3 A for charging the Rollei LUMIS U-Light. The Rollei LUMIS U-Light supports charging via quick chargers and USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) up to the direct current stated above.
• Please use only the USB cable included in the package to charge the device. Otherwise, there is a danger of fire or electric shock.
