Mounting and Installation
⚠ Warning! Do not fit a head to a tripod that cannot support the combined mass of the head and its full payload.
Warning! Do not place fingers between the platform and the body of the fluid head.
Caution! Always lock the horizontal and vertical brakes when the camera is mounted but not in use or when leveling the fluid head on the tripod.
Caution! Hold the camera securely when mounting or dismounting from the fluid head and when making adjustments to the tripod height or footprint.
Caution! Always hold the pan bar when making adjustments to the counterbalance or camera position. Do not use the pan bar to lift or move the tripod and fluid head.
Caution! Do not attach heavy items to the pan bar.
⚠ Caution! Always remove the camera before transporting.
Maintenance
⚠ Warning! The fitting of non-approved parts and or accessories or servicing by non-approved personnel could effect the safety of the product. It may also invalidate the terms and conditions of the product warranty.
⚠ Caution! When replacing the battery, only use the same or an equivalent type of battery recommended for use with this product.
General
⚠️ Caution! Before mounting the fluid head on the tripod, check if the tripod has a safe standing and if the tripod leg extensions are clamped
⚠ Caution! Before releasing the tie down on the fluid head (with amounted camera), the tripod must be secured against fall over.
Caution! Before releasing the vertical brake (at a non balanced camera set up) or the clamping of the camera/balance plate the camera must be secured against sudden movement, otherwise there may be a danger of finger trapping.
Caution! During camera tilt movements with extreme tilt angles there may be a danger of finger trapping between sideload plate and housing for users and third persons.
Caution! Do not use side load lever as a carrying handle.

3.1 Intended Use
The Cine 20 fluid head has been developed to enable smooth pan and tilt movement giving the operator total image control through a wide range of angles. (See Technical data for Maximum payload).
3.2 Moving the pan bar
Open the black clamp lever of the pan bar and move the pan bar into the desired position. Close the clamp lever of the pan bar. During transportation the pan bar can be moved next to the tripod legs.
Caution: Open the clamp lever of the pan bar far enough that the teeth of the pan bar clamp do not touch while moving the pan bar. Make sure that the teeth interleave with each other when closing the clamp lever of the pan bar.
3.3 Leveling the fluid head
The fluid head has a bubble to facilitate leveling. Apply the vertical brake of the fluid head and hold the camera with one hand. Open the tie down of the fluid head and move the head in such a way, that the bubble moves into the levels black circle. Tighten the tie down firmly.
Touch Bubble
The fluid head has a self illuminating Touch Bubble which allows easy leveling even under unfavorable lighting conditions.
The illumination is activated by strong tapping on the bubble.
3.4 Mounting the camera and / or plate
Attach the camera plate around the cameras centre of gravity.
- Apply horizontal brake and release vertical brake.
- Hold the camera and / or plate with one hand.
- Press the safety push button with your thumb and open the side load lever completely as shown in Pic. 3, illustration "OPEN".

- The camera(plate) is now unlocked and can be removed from the fluidhead.
- Attach the camera plate to the camera ( Two 3/8" screws are provided as a standard fixing solution.)
- If you need to attach your camera either with 1/4"screw and 3/8"screw or 1/4" screw and pin, just use the screws located in the parking positions, shown in picture 4.

- To mount the camera (plate) onto the fluid head, place the camera plate's dovetail in the dovetail's guide on the head (arrow A).
- Lower the camera (plate). The snap lock will spring back and snap in to secure the camera plate when it is in a flat position. (arrow B)

- Close the sideload lever until the red safety lock is locked (audible clicking).
If the camera plate is not locked into position, the sideload lever will not close completely.
Closing the sideload lever without camera plate (e.g. for transportation), press the marked safety pin whilst closing the sideload lever.
3.5 Counterbalancing the camera
Before adjusting the counterbalance of the camera, the center of gravity of the camera must be centered precisely over the axis of the fluid head.
- Lock the vertical brake, adjust the vertical setting of the fluid damping to "0", adjust the knob for the counterbalance setting to "1" and switch the payload range shifter (Boost Button) on the head's front side to position "LO".
- Secure the camera with one hand and open the vertical brake.
- Should the camera be front or back heavy open the side load lever (pic. 3, illustration "SLIDE"). Keep the camera secured with one hand. Centre the camera weight and compensate for a back heavy setup by sliding the camera plate forwards and for a front heavy setup by sliding backwards. The camera should remain in the horizontal position.
- Lock the camera plate by closing the side load lever completely
- The fluid head is equipped with a sixteen step counterbalance adjustment and payload range shifter on the head's front side with two positions (High and Low).
- Select the setting which compensates best with your camera set up. Adjusting the lower setting is immediately effective. The adjustment of the higher setting becomes effective after passing the "0" level while tilting the fluid head.
3.6 Setting the damping
The Cine 20 is equipped with a 7-step damping level horizontally and vertically and a zero setting. By turning the vertical setting and the horizontal setting the desired level of fluid damping is selected. Turn the setting ring to "0" in order to switch off the damping completely. The different damping levels can only be felt if the horizontal and vertical brakes are open. If you apply damping, the degree of horizontal and vertical damping is identical and this enables precise diagonal panning movements without jerks and vibrations. Make sure that you always turn the setting to the next indexed position (arrow pointing on index dot). Engage the retainer pins by slowly panning or tilting the camera.
Panning or tilting the camera with settings between the indexed positions can damage the retainer pins and/or disks.
3.7 Brakes
The horizontal brake applies the lock for the pan and the vertical brake for the tilt movement. Both brakes are free off vibrations and can be used during shooting.
3.8 Change the battery
The illumination is powered by one standard type button cell (CR 2032, 3 V) located in the battery holder, which can be opened with a tapered object such as a screwdriver. Make sure to insert the new batteries according to the “plus” symbol as indicated in the covering plate. The battery lasts for about 2000 illumination cycles.
3.9 Transport setting for damping, counterbalance and brakes
To ensure smooth operation of the setting rings for the damping over the long lifetime period of the fluid head, you should turn both setting rings from position "0" to maximum position, before and after the use of the fluid head.
Setting during transportation: the most important issue is to open both brakes - horizontal and vertical.
Counterbalance and damping should be set to maximum position.

6 Inspection & Cleaning
Clean the fluid head regularly using a soft cloth and mild detergent.
7 Warranty
The warranty will be invalidated if:
- The head is improperly installed or used in a manner contrary to this user guide.
- The head housing is opened by unauthorized personnel.
