Frequently Asked Questions - S20-90ABTH PKM

What is the minimum distance required between the hood and the hob?
The minimum distance depends on the hob type: 65 cm for ceramic-glass rings/hotplates, 75 cm for gas cookers, and 85 cm for coal/oil/wood fired stoves. Never install below these distances to avoid fire risk.
How do I install the hood in recirculation mode?
Follow the installation steps for exhaust air operation but ignore steps 5 and 6 (exhaust pipe connection). Ensure the carbon filters (CF 150, not included) are installed on the motor. The exhaust hose is not required.
How often should I clean the grease filters?
Clean the aluminium grease filters at least once a month. They can be cleaned by hand or in a dishwasher at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive or alkaline detergents.
How often should I replace the carbon filters?
Conventional carbon filters cannot be cleaned and should be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending on usage. They are only used in recirculation mode.
What should I do if the hood is not working at all?
Check if the plug is connected, the socket has power, and the fuse is on. If the voltage is too low, compare with the rating plate. If these are fine, contact a qualified professional.
Can I use the hood together with a gas fireplace?
If operating in exhaust air mode, ensure sufficient air supply in the room to avoid negative pressure above 4 Pa. In recirculation mode, simultaneous use is generally safe. Always consult a chimney sweep.
How do I replace the LED light?
Disconnect the hood from the mains. Remove the grease filter, then pull out the old LED lamp (3.0 W max) and insert a new one of the same type. Use a cloth to avoid touching the lamp with bare hands. Reinstall the filter.
Why is the motor running but no suction?
Check if the ventilation damper is blocked or the motor mounting is defective. Also ensure the exhaust duct is not obstructed and the filters are clean. If the problem persists, contact service.
What diameter should the exhaust hose be?
The recommended diameter is 120 mm or 150 mm. Using a smaller diameter will reduce performance and increase noise. The hose should be as short and straight as possible with bends no less than 120°.
Does the hood come with carbon filters?
No, carbon filters (model CF 150, 2 pieces) are not included in the delivery. They must be purchased separately for recirculation operation.
