Frequently Asked Questions - IND3N61G28 Infiniton

What type of cookware can I use on this induction hob?
Use cookware with a flat, ferromagnetic base (e.g., cast iron, enameled steel). The base must be at least 14 cm in diameter. Perform the magnet test: if a magnet sticks to the base, it is suitable. Do not use aluminum, copper, glass, or ceramic pots unless they have a magnetic layer.
How do I activate the Boost function?
Select the cooking zone (only zones 1 and 3 support Boost) by touching its selection key, then touch the Boost button. The display will show 'P'. Boost lasts 5 minutes, then the zone returns to power level 9. To cancel, touch the zone selection key and then the Boost button again.
How do I use the Child Lock?
Press and hold the '-' and '+' controls simultaneously for 3 seconds. The timer indicator will show 'Lo' to confirm lock. To unlock, repeat the same action. When locked, all touch controls except On/Off are disabled.
What does the 'H' on the display mean?
The 'H' indicates that the cooking zone is still hot (residual heat). It will disappear when the surface cools to a safe temperature. Do not touch the zone while 'H' is displayed.
How do I set the timer to turn off a cooking zone?
Select the desired cooking zone, then touch the timer control. The timer display will flash. Use '+' or '-' to set the time (1 to 99 minutes). The countdown starts immediately. When time expires, the zone switches off automatically and shows 'H'.
What should I do if an error code like E1 or F3 appears?
Error codes indicate specific issues. For E1/E2 (irregular supply voltage), check the power supply and reset. For F3/F4 (temperature sensor failure), contact official technical service. For other codes like E3 or E5, allow the hob to cool down. If persistent, call a qualified technician.
How do I clean the induction hob?
Disconnect the hob from power. For light soiling, use a damp cloth and mild cleaner. For burnt-on spills, use a glass scraper at a 30° angle while the surface is warm (but not hot). Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals. Always dry thoroughly before use.
What are the installation requirements?
The hob must be installed by a qualified technician. Ensure the worktop is heat-resistant, level, and has a cutout of 565 x 495 mm. Maintain a minimum clearance of 5 cm around the opening. Do not seal with silicone. Allow proper ventilation: air inlet and outlet must not be blocked.
Why is my pan not heating up?
The hob may not detect the pan. Check that the pan is suitable for induction (ferromagnetic base), has a diameter of at least 14 cm, and is centered on the cooking zone. Clean the base and the hob surface. If the issue persists, try a different pan.
What is the maximum power consumption?
The total power is 5500-6300 W at 220-240 V. Each zone has individual power: Rear right up to 2600 W with Boost, rear left 1500 W, front left up to 2000 W with Boost. Ensure your electrical installation can handle the load.

The joy of cooking

Infiniton would like to give you a brief guide to help you get the most out of your gas, vitroceramic or induction hob. Take note!

Get the most out of your Infiniton hob

The operation of an Infiniton cooktop is very simple thanks to the technology we have employed to make your everyday life easier. Just follow these simple tips and enjoy a kitchen for years to come.

It will always depend on each model, although the minimum distance between the cooking zone and the extraction zone will generally be between 55cm - 65cm for vitroceramic or induction hobs.

If the hob is a gas hob, the recommended distance will be somewhat greater, between 65cm - 75cm.

Minimum distance on glass-ceramic and induction hobs 55-65cm Minimum distance on gas hobs 65-75cm

Protect the surface of your hob

Use only certified products that do not scratch or damage your cooktop such as liquid or foam cleaners, then apply a clean damp cloth and it will be as good as new.

What power level should I use for each recipe?

It is usual to get down to work with any recipe and use the maximum power of your cooker, but each food is cooked differently. For example, for cooking rice, we will use a low power setting, while medium power settings are ideal for boiling potatoes or a stew. It is advisable to use the maximum power setting only for frying, meat, fish and frozen foods.

Which equipment can I use on my hob?

If you have a glass-ceramic or gas hob, you can use either. They accept all types of pots and pans. If you have an induction hob, the base of pans and pots must be ferromagnetic and of a certain thickness.

Which materials do I need for my induction hob?

There are often cases in which our induction hob does not heat pans properly, leading us to think that it is faulty. In most of these cases it is usually due to the use of frying pans and pots that are not suitable for induction. Below, we explain the main characteristics that an induction frying pan should have:

It is very important that the size of our utensils is adjusted to our cooking zone, being 14 cm or larger.

Our diameters range from 14cm to 32cm.

Its base should be flat and fully ferromagnetic for best results.

Ferromagnetic base

You can check if your pots and pans are suitable by doing the magnet test.

Hold a magnet close to the base of the cookware; if it attracts the magnet, it is suitable for induction.

Stainless steel, aluminium and copper utensils without a ferromagnetic base are not suitable for induction.

Small Item Detection

When an improperly sized or non-magnetic pan (e.g. aluminum), or some other small item (e.g. knife, fork, key) has been left in contact with the cooktop, the cooktop will automatically switch to standby mode in 1 minute. The fan will continue to run on the induction cooktop for an additional 1 minute.

Default operation

The automatic switch-off is a function designed to protect your hob. It switches off automatically if you ever forget to turn off the cooktop. The preset operating times for various power levels are shown in the table below:

Power level 12 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Default working time (hours) 8 8 8 4 4 4 22 2

Cooking tips and hints

Infiniton IND3N61G28 - Cooking tips and hints - 1

WARNING! Be careful when frying, as oil and fat heat up very quickly, especially when using the

Boost function. At extremely high temperatures, oil and fat ignite spontaneously, posing a serious fire hazard.

  • When food starts to boil, reduce the temperature.
  • Using a lid will reduce cooking times and save energy by retaining heat.
  • Reduce the amount of liquid or fat to reduce cooking time.
  • Start cooking on a high setting and reduce the setting when the food has warmed up.

Simmering

Simmering occurs below boiling point, at about 85^ C, when bubbles gradually rise to the surface of the liquid being cooked. This is the key to delicious soups and tender stews, as the flavours develop without overcooking the food. You should also cook egg-based sauces and flour-thickened sauces below the boiling point.

Cooking rice

Some tasks, such as cooking rice by the absorption method, may require a setting higher than the lowest setting to ensure that the food is cooked properly in the recommended time.

Browning a fillet of meat

For cooking juicy and tasty steaks:

  1. Let the meat stand at room temperature for about 20 minutes before cooking.
  2. Heat a large frying pan.
  3. Brush both sides of the steak with oil. Drizzle a small amount of oil into the hot pan and then place the meat in the hot pan.
  4. Turn the steak only once during cooking. The exact cooking time will depend on the thickness of the steak and how cooked you want it. Time may vary from 2 to 8 minutes per side. Press the steak to measure the degree of doneness: the more firm the steak looks, the more done it is.
  5. Let the steak rest on a warm plate for a few minutes to relax and tenderise before serving.

Stir-fry

  1. Choose a flat-bottomed wok (induction compatible) or a large frying pan.
  2. Have all the ingredients and equipment ready. Stir-frying should be quick. If cooking large quantities, cook the food in several smaller batches.
  3. Preheat the pan briefly and add two tablespoons of oil.
  4. Cook the meat first, set aside and keep warm.
  5. Sauté the vegetables. When they are hot but still crisp, turn the cooking zone to a lower setting, return the meat to the pan and add your sauce.
  6. Stir the ingredients gently to heat through.
  7. Serve immediately.

WARNING! When an unsuitably sized or non-magnetic frying pan (e.g. aluminium) or any other small object (e.g. knife, fork...) is left on the hob, the hob will automatically switch to standby within 1 minute. The fan will continue to run for another 1 minute.

Power settings

The settings given below are for guidance only. The exact setting will depend on a number of factors, such as your cookware and the amount you cook. Experiment with the hob to find the settings that suit you best.

Power setting Recommended for
1 - 2 • Slowly heatsmall quantities of food.Melt chocolate, butter and foods that burn quickly.Gentle simmering.Simmering on low heat.
3 - 4 • Reheat.Rapid simmering.Cook the rice.
5 - 6 • PancakesCrepes.Waffles.
7 - 8 • Stir-fries.Cooking pasta.
9 • Stir-fryLightly sautéBoil the soupBoil the water
LEVEL OF SOILING SOLUTION WARNING!
Common dirt on the glass (fingerprints, marks, smudges left by food or splashes on the glass)1. Disconnect the hob from the main power supply.2. Apply a worktop cleaner while the glass is still hot (but not too hot!).3. Rinse and dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.4. Switch the hob back on.When the power to the hob is switched off, there will be no "hot surface" indication, but the cooking zone may still be hot. Be very careful.Strong scouring pads, some nylon scouring pads and strong/abrasive cleaning products can scratch glass.Always read the label to check if your cleaner or scourer is suitable.Never leave cleaning residues on the hob: the glass may become stained.
Spills from boiling, hot melts and hot sweets on glassRemove them immediately with a spatula or blade scraper suitable for glass hobs, but be careful of hot surfaces in the cooking area. hot surfaces in the cooking area:1. Switch off the power supply to the hob at the wall.2. Hold the blade or utensil at a 30° angle and scrape off any dirt or spillage onto a cool area of the cooktop.3. Wipe off the dirt or spillage with a tea towel or paper towel.4. Follow steps 2 to 4 in the section "Daily soiling of the glass".Remove stains left by melted and sugary foods or spills as soon as possible. If left to cool on the glass, they may be difficult to remove from the glass surface.Cutting hazard: when the safety cover is retracted, the blade of the scraper is sharp as a razor. Use with extreme care and always store safely and out of the reach of children.
Splashes on the touch controls1. Unplug the hob.2. Absorb the spillage.3. Wipe the area with a clean, damp sponge or cloth.4. Dry the area completely with a paper towel.5. Reconnect the hob.The hob may beep and turn off, and the touch controls may not work while there is liquid on them. Be sure to clean the touch controls area before turning the hob back on.
