1. Risk of electrical shock

6. Cleaning the device

- USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) Type-C ^TM interface to host connection
- LED for power and SSD access
Please note the following information about the compatibility of USB Type-C™ enclosures and adapters, including this device!
- The enclosure only supplies the full data transfer rate of up to 20 Gbit/s via a USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) USB Type-C™ host interface and an available Asmedia chipset ASM3242 at host PC.
- Currently a macOS ^ based computer does not support the USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) standard
- A USB Type-A host interface can be connected with USB 3.1, 3.0 or 2.0 standard in some notebooks and computers by using the enclosed USB-Type-C™ to type-A cable.
- The enclosure also works on devices with a Thunderbolt ^TM 3 Type-C ^TM interface only with the transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s specified by USB 3.1 (Gen 2).
- The following operating systems are supported: Windows ^ , macOS ^
External USB Type-C™ Enclosure for M.2 NVMe SSD
With the help of the external USB 3.2 Type-C ^™ enclosure IB-1916M-C32 you can take one NVMe SSD with you quickly and easily. It allows access to M.2 SSDs of up to 2 TB no matter to which host you connect it. The IB-1916M-C32 is compatible with M.2 cards of 80 mm length, operating system-independent and suitable for a variety of applications such as high-speed storage, cloning a drive or running a mobile operating system. A PCIe controller from Asmedia give the NVMe inside the IB-1916M-C32 incredible speeds of up to 2000 MB/s read and write via USB Type-C ^™ while also making your M.2 SSD more durable and more efficient.

Installation
Important: During the drive assembly all cabling has to be disconnected from the computer. It may cause electric shock accident or malfunction.
When connecting the hard drive, please note the electrostatic! Body's static electricity may cause malfunction of the device. Please touch a metal object to discharge or wear antistatic gloves before the operation.
Attention!
• PCB of this device and SSDs are precision machinery, please be careful do not collision and please notice the right direction of SSD.
- Be careful the cutting edge inside may cut hand!
- If hard disk already contains data, please backup data before installation to prevent data loss.

- Insert your SSD carefully with the connection side into the M.2 socket at an angle of about 30^ so it fits in smoothly.

- Connect the IB-1916M-C32 via the delivered cable to the corresponding port of your host computer.
- When the IB-1916M-C32 has been plugged correctly the LED will turn on blue!
Application
- The external SSD can be connected to or disconnected from the computer without shutting down the computer.
- Please await the end of read/write operations before disconnecting the SSD to avoid data loss.
- A new SSD must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted by the operation system to be displayed by the system.
- If the drive isn't recognized instantly by the operating system please check: if the driver software is installed (USB), if the SSD is initialized, partitioned and formatted.
Info: Drives must be initialized and have active partitions to be immediately recognized as volumes in the operating system. If this is not the case, initialize the drives in the volume management of your operating system.
The full USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) transfer rate can only be achieved with a compatible USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) host computer. Furthermore, the USB 3.2 drivers must be installed by the operating system. If this is not the case, install the appropriate drivers for your operating system (Windows®).
