Frequently Asked Questions - B760NH-E BIOSTAR

What CPUs are supported by the Biostar B760NH-E?
The motherboard supports 12th, 13th, and 14th generation Intel Core i9/i7/i5/i3 processors, as well as Intel Pentium and Celeron processors in the LGA1700 package. Check www.biostar.com.tw for the full CPU support list.
How do I update the BIOS?
You can update the BIOS using the BIOSTAR BIO-Flasher utility from the UEFI BIOS, or the BIOS Update Utility in Windows. Download the latest BIOS file from the Biostar website to a FAT32 USB drive, then run the flasher and follow the on-screen instructions. After update, load optimized defaults.
What type of memory does it support?
It supports Dual Channel DDR5 memory with speeds up to 6400+ MHz (overclocked). The two DIMM slots can accommodate up to 96 GB total, using non-ECC modules of 8/16/24/32/48 GB each. It also supports Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP).
How many storage devices can I connect?
The motherboard offers one M.2 (M key) slot supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA III SSDs (type 2280), and four SATA III (6 Gb/s) ports via the chipset. Note that using a SATA SSD on the M.2 slot disables SATA port 4.
Does it have onboard graphics output?
Yes, if you use a CPU with integrated graphics (Intel UHD Graphics). The rear panel includes an HDMI 1.4 port (up to 4096x2160 @30Hz) and a DisplayPort 1.2 (up to 4096x2160 @60Hz). You can use two displays simultaneously.
What is the form factor and dimensions?
It is a Mini-ITX motherboard with dimensions of 170 mm x 170 mm.
How do I clear the CMOS?
To clear CMOS, first disconnect the AC power. Then short the JCMOS jumper pins (pin 1-2) using a metal object for about five seconds. Return the jumper to its default open position, reconnect power, boot into BIOS and load optimized defaults.
What does the Debug LED indicate?
The board has four LEDs: CPU, DRAM, VGA, BOOT. During startup, they light sequentially. If an error occurs, the corresponding LED stays on to indicate the failing component (e.g., CPU, memory, graphics, or boot device).
Can I use a Wi-Fi card?
Yes, there is an M.2 (E key) socket for a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module (not included). It supports 2230 type modules and Intel CNVi. The rear panel includes two Wi-Fi antenna ports for connection.
What operating systems are supported?
The motherboard supports Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11 (64-bit). Biostar may add or remove support for other OS without notice.
