Frequently Asked Questions - DH-6SM1 PANASONIC

How do I reset the ELB (Earth Leakage Breaker)?
If the ELB Reset Lever has tripped (slid down), push it up firmly until it clicks into place. If it cannot be reset or slides down again, stop using the appliance and contact an authorized dealer immediately. Do not fix the lever with tape or other materials.
What should I do if no hot water comes out?
First, ensure the Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) and the ON/OFF DP Switch are turned on. Check that the ELB Reset Lever is up. Also verify the Main Water Valve is open and the Filter Unit is clean. If the ELB Lamp does not light up, contact an authorized dealer.
How do I clean the filter unit?
Turn off the MCB. Remove the filter unit (attached to the filter knob) and clean it with water. It is recommended to clean it every week or when you notice reduced hot water flow. Ensure the O Ring is not removed and is free from foreign particles before reassembling.
Can I use this water heater for drinking water?
No. The appliance is not intended for potable water supply. It is designed only for household use such as bathing or washing.
What is the minimum water pressure required?
The minimum water pressure is 0.02 MPa (0.2 kgf/cm² / 2.9 psi). If the pressure is lower, the heater may not operate correctly.
How is the appliance installed?
Installation must be performed by competent personnel. The appliance must be wall-mounted indoors in a frost-free location, with the inlet and outlet pipes pointing downward. It requires a permanent connection to the water mains and a dedicated electrical supply with a double-pole switch (contact separation ≥3 mm). Proper earthing is essential.
What does the ELB Lamp indicate?
The ELB Lamp (red) lights up when the appliance is operating and the ELB is in the ON condition. If the lamp goes off during operation, it may indicate a trip. Test the ELB monthly by pressing the Test Button – the lamp should go off and the reset lever should drop.
How do I adjust the water temperature?
Use the Temperature Control Knob (Min to Max). For finer control, adjust the Hot Water Faucet and Cold Water Faucet. Always open the cold water faucet first to avoid scalding. If the water is too hot, reduce the volume of water or open the cold faucet more.
What should I do if water leaks from the unit?
If you notice any water leakage, do not use the appliance. Turn off the Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) and Main Water Valve, and contact an authorized dealer immediately. Leakage may indicate a faulty seal or internal damage.
Can I use a timer or external switch with this heater?
No. The appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device like a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility. This is to avoid inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out and ensure safety.
