- Read the whole content of this user manual before using the appliance for the first time connect the connection cord to a socket which complies with the specification provided in the manual.
- Set the appliance on a flat, stable and high temperature resistant surface.
- Always disconnect the appliance from the mains by pulling the plug, not the power cord.
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains whenever it is not used or before cleaning it.
- Do not immerse the cord or the appliance in water.
- Do not use in open air.
- Do not use nearby inflammable materials such as furniture, bedding, paper, clothes, lace curtains, linings etc.
- Do not leave children without care nearby the appliance parts of the appliance become hot when the appliance is being used. You should hold the appliance only by the handgrip.
- Be careful when taking out the sandwiches. Ready made sandwiches are hot and can burn.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Before commencing with the cleaning of the appliance, remove the plug from the mains power socket and allow the appliance to cool down.
- Never submerse any ports of the appliance in water or other liquids. This would bring about the risk of a potentially fatal electric shock.
- First of all, clean the baking surfaces with a dry paper towel to soak up any grease residue.
- Then clean all surfaces and the power cable with a lightly moistened dish cloth. Always dry the appliance well before using it again.
- Do not use detergents or solvents. These could not only cause damage to the appliance, they can also leave traces that could be baked into the next waffles.
- In the case of stubborn residues never make use of hard objects. These could damage the coatings of the baking surfaces. It is better to lay a wet wash cloth on the encrusted residues in order to soften them.

OPERATING
Before taking the appliance into use check to ensure that the appliance, the power plug and the power cable are all in a serviceable condition and that all packaging materials have been removed.
Note
On first use the development of a light odour may occur, caused by production residues. This is normal and stops after a short time. Provide for sufficient ventilation. Open a window, for example.
OPERATION
- Wipe the heating plates with a damp cloth.
- Position the device on a level, stable and high-temperature resistant surface.

Oil the plates slightly with butter, margarine or oil to make them ready for making waffles.

Close the lid (2) and secure the handle with interlock (4).
- Plug in the appliance operation of the appliance is signalled by the green light (A).
- Control light (B) signals when the waffle-maker is heated and ready for operation.
- open the lid (2) and pour the batter in so that it fills the form halfway up (any excess batter will flow out from the form after closing the lid).
- Close the lid gently and secure the handle with interlock (4).
- Bake waffles for 6-8 minutes.
The baking time is dependant on:
- The type of cake.
- Expected baking level of waffles and the number of waffles in the waffle iron.
USEFUL TIPS
- Mix all ingredients together uniformly, this will ensure a constant level of browning.
- If you use milk instead of water, the waffles will be softer and darker.
- Never lay crisply baked waffles on top of each other. This causes them to become soft quickly. To keep them crispy, lay them next to each other on a kitchen grill.
RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 2 glasses of flour
- 500 ml milk
-4 eggs - 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 50 ml oil
- a pinch of salt
- approx 1 / 2 glass of sugar
Mix eggs with sugar, and then pour flour, which has been previously mixed with baking powder. Add milk and oil and mix until the cake is homogeneous. Add salt to taste. Waffle recipes are also available on various Internet sites.
