Frequently Asked Questions - Lun Komfort POB-800 WILFA

How do I install the Wilfa Lun Komfort POB-800 heater?
Mount the fixture to the wall using the included screws and expansion pins. Then secure the heater onto the fixture hooks and press into the clips. Ensure minimum clearances: at least 0.2 m from sides and 2 m from ceiling.
Can I use this heater in a bathroom?
No. The heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, or wet locations. It must only be used indoors in dry areas.
What does the 'DO NOT COVER' warning mean?
It means you should never place any objects over or against the heater's air vents, as this can cause overheating and fire risk. The symbol is printed near the upper vent.
Why does the heater produce a smell when first used?
It is normal for the heater to emit a slight odor when turned on for the first time or after long storage. The smell will disappear after a short period of operation.
How do I clean the heater?
Always unplug and let it cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth, then buff with a dry cloth. Do not use detergents or abrasives, and avoid letting water enter the heater.
Can I use an extension cord?
Avoid using an extension cord as it may overheat and cause a fire. If necessary, use a heavy-duty cord and ensure it does not exceed the heater's current rating.
What should I do if the heater stops working?
Check if the overheat protection has tripped. Wait for it to cool down; it will automatically reset. If it still doesn't work, contact an authorized service center. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
How do I set the thermostat?
Turn the thermostat dial clockwise to the desired temperature setting. The heater will maintain that room temperature. The minimum setting provides frost protection (above freezing).
What is the power consumption?
The heater has a power output of 800 W and draws 5.5 A. At full power, it consumes 0.8 kWh per hour.
Is it safe to leave the heater unattended?
Yes, it has built-in overheat protection that automatically switches off if overheating is detected. However, always follow safety instructions: keep flammable materials at least 1 m away and do not block vents.

Bruk

5 Laveste termostatinnstilling. Ved denne innstillingen (avhengig av rommets størrelse) vil varmeovnen holde temperaturen over frysepunktet.

It is important that you read these instructions before using your new panel heater. We strongly recommend that you keep them in a safe place for future reference.

Safety instructions

When using this electrical panel heater, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury. Read all instructions before using this heater, including the following:

  • Do not cover or obstruct the upper and lower air vents of the heater, as this will cause the heater to overheat. The text "Do not cover" and related symbol are printed close to the upper air vent of the heater.
This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
  • Keep flammable materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 1 m from the front of the heater, and also keep them away from the sides and rear.
    ■ Always check the power cord, and do not operate the heater with a damaged cord or plug.

This heater is equipped with an earthed plug and must be plugged into an earthed outlet. This is a safety feature: DO NOT REPLACE THIS PLUG!

■ DO NOT OPEN HEATER. There are no user serviceable parts inside.

- Do not use the heater if it has malfunctioned, or if it has been damaged or dropped in any way. If this happens, return the heater to an authorised service facility for examination and/or repair.

- Do not use outdoors – always use indoors. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, wet areas or similar.

Never position the heater so that it can fall into a bathtub or other water container.

■ Do not run the heater power cord under carpeting or otherwise cover the cord. Ensure that the power cord is out of the way so that it does not pose a tripping risk.

■ Turn off heater before unplugging from the electrical outlet.

- Do not insert objects through the air vents of the heater as this may cause electric shock or fire. To prevent fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner.

A heater has hot and arcing parts inside. Never use the heater close to places where paint thinners, gasoline, paint or other flammable liquids are used or stored.

■ Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use may cause personal injury, damage to property or electric shock.
- Avoid using an extension cord to power the heater. The extension cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire.
This heater draws 5.5 amps during operation. To prevent overloading a circuit, take this into consideration when plugging the heater into a circuit that is already being used to power other appliances.
■ The plug should not feel hot to the touch. A loose fit between the plug and the socket may cause overheating and the plug may become warped. If the plug is loose, this may mean that the socket is loose or worn out and needs to be replaced by a qualified electrician.
■ Do not allow water to splash on the heater. If the heater appears to be damp, discontinue use immediately.
■ The output of this heater and its temperature may become intense enough to burn exposed skin. This heater is not recommended for use by persons with reduced sensitivity to heat or inability to react to avoid burns.
■ Aside from cleaning, all servicing of the heater must be performed by an authorised service centre. The appliance contains no parts that can be repaired by the user. Repairs may only be carried out by authorised service technicians.
■ The heater features internal protection from overheating, which automatically switches appliance off if it detects overheating. The appliance switches back on again once it has cooled down.
■ Do not use this heater in the immediate vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming pool.
■ The heater must not be positioned immediately below and in front of the mains socket.
■ The appliance must not be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have received instructions.
■ Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance unsupervised.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service technician or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
