Frequently Asked Questions - VS-124999 Emerio

How do I use the vacuum sealer for moist foods?
Press the Moist mode button before starting. This increases the vacuum time to handle liquids without mess. Ensure you use a slightly longer bag to leave space.
Can I use any vacuum bags?
For best results, use textured bags designed for vacuum sealers. Smooth bags may not seal properly. Our included bags are compatible, but you can also buy standard pre-cut rolls.
Why won't the machine start vacuuming?
Check that the lid is closed firmly and locked. Also ensure the bag is placed correctly over the vacuum channel. If using a canister, make sure the hose is connected tightly.
How do I clean the sealing strip?
Unplug the machine. Wipe the sealing strip with a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol after it has cooled. This removes residue and prevents sticking.
What is the pulse function for?
The Pulse mode lets you control vacuum manually by holding the button. Release to stop vacuuming. Useful for fragile items like chips or herbs to avoid crushing.
Can I vacuum seal liquids?
It's possible with the Moist mode, but avoid filling bags more than half full. Freeze liquids first to make them solid for easier sealing.
Why is the seal not complete?
Ensure the bag is not wrinkled along the sealing strip. Clean the strip if dirty. If the problem persists, the sealing tape may need replacement.
How long does the vacuum pump last?
With normal home use, the pump can last several years. Allow the machine to cool between cycles (3 min on, 1 min off) to extend its life.
What can I do if the lid won't close?
Make sure there is no debris on the gasket. If the gasket is worn or misaligned, replace it. Do not force the lid shut.
Are spare parts available?
Yes, replacement foam gaskets, sealing tapes, and vacuum hoses are sold by Emerio. Check our website or contact support.

Tips

  • If you want to stop running, please press the "cancel" button.
    • Use a plastic film or bag (20cm -28cm width) with emboss and 0.2-0.29mm thickness.
  • Try to keep the bag smooth during the vacuum sealing process. Wrinkles in the bag can keep residual air in the bag and cause food spoilage.
  • Although the plastic material of the bags is quite strong, it can be punctured by sharp items. So if you are sealing foods with sharp edges (pasta, dried fruits, etc.), use some common plastic wrap before vacuum sealing. This will protect the bag from being punctured.
  • If the vacuum pump continues to run. Press the “cancel” button to make it stop. Check if the condition of the sealed seal is good. Then place the open end of the bag smoothly and correctly, and lock the cover. Start the appliance again.
  • To vacuum seal the foods not frozen, two extra inches are required for bag length to allow for expansion while freezing.
  • Due to the risk of anaerobic bacteria, fresh mushrooms, onions, garlic and soft cheese should never be vacuum packaged.

VACUUM PACKAGING AND FOOD SAFETY

1) The vacuum packaging process extends the life of foods by removing most of the air from the sealed container, thereby reducing oxidation, which affects nutritional value, flavor and overall quality. Removing air can also inhibit growth of microorganisms, which can cause problems under certain conditions.
2) To preserve foods safely, it is critical that you maintain low temperatures. You can significantly reduce the growth of microorganisms at temperatures of 4^ C ( 40^ F) or below. Freezing at -17^ C ( 0^ F) does not kill microorganisms, but stops them from growing. For long-term storage, always freeze perishable foods that have been vacuum packaged, and keep refrigerated after thawing.
3) It is important to note that vacuum packaging is NOT a substitute for canning and it cannot reverse the deterioration of foods. It can only slow down the changes in quality. It is difficult to predict how long foods will retain their top-quality flavor, appearance or texture because it depends on age and condition of the food on the day it was vacuumed packaged.
4) IMPORTANT: Vacuum packaging is NOT a substitute for refrigeration or freezing. Any perishable foods that require refrigeration must still be refrigerated or frozen after vacuum packaging.
5) The Vacuum Sealer also protects non-food items from oxidation, corrosion and moisture. Simply follow the directions to vacuum package items using vacuum bags, canisters and accessories.

Attention

  1. To pack the food containing little water

The water will flow into the interior of the appliance, resulting in failure. So please use a kitchen towel to remove the moisture, or use a plastic wrap or a disposable plastic wrap to carry out vacuum packaging. Slight frozen state will facilitate the vacuum packaging.

  1. To pack powder food

The powder may be inhaled. Before the vacuum packaging, please put it into a disposable plastic bag.

  1. To pack fruits and vegetables

It is not recommended to vacuum fruits and vegetables which are fragile or with high amount of water. When vacuum packed, the food will be pressured to generate extra water and gas to make the bag bulged. All vegetables (including broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, turnips) naturally emits gases and swells the vacuumed bag after a few days, it is recommended to pre-freeze them and keep them refrigerated after vacuum packaging.

  1. To pack the liquid food

It must not be vacuum packed, only need to be sealed.

When sealing liquid food, place the appliance higher than the food.

Storage

For vacuum-packed food (except dehydrated food), frozen storage is advised.

For packaged vegetables, please eat in 2 weeks, to avoid rot.

Microwave

If you want to put the vacuum-packed food in a microwave, punch a hole in the plastic bag first. SUITABLE FOR THAWING IN THE MICROWAVE TO MAX. 70 °C.

CLEANING

  1. Unplug the appliance. Always let the appliance cool off completely before you clean it.

  2. Wipe the appliance with a soft damp cloth. It should be kept as its cover unlocked.
