Frequently Asked Questions - Classic C1 Turbo Team MIELE

How to install the turbo brush on the Miele Classic C1 Turbo Team vacuum cleaner?
Replace the bipositional brush with the turbo brush into the suction tube by turning left and right until you hear a click of engagement.
Can the turbo brush be used on all types of floors?
No, the turbo brush is ideal for short-pile carpets and rugs. For hard floors, preferably use the bipositional brush or the parquet brush. Avoid hand-woven or long-pile carpets.
How to clean the cylindrical brush when hair gets tangled?
Turn off and unplug the vacuum cleaner. With scissors, cut the tangled threads and hair around the brush following the guide groove lengthwise. The debris will then be vacuumed up.
What to do if the turbo brush slows down on thick carpets?
Open the additional air slider (top frame) to let in more air. This helps maintain suction flow and prevent slowdown.
What safety precautions should be observed with the turbo brush?
Always stop and unplug the vacuum cleaner before cleaning or maintenance. Never bring the turbo brush near face, fabrics, and do not vacuum liquids, glowing objects or flammable substances.
Can children use this vacuum cleaner?
Children under 8 years old must be kept away. Children aged 8 and above may use it under adult supervision after understanding the risks. Cleaning and maintenance must not be done by children without supervision.
Can you vacuum liquids with the turbo brush?
No, never vacuum liquids or damp items. Allow shampooed carpets to dry completely before vacuuming. The turbo brush is designed only for dry surfaces.
How to maintain the turbo brush after use?
Clean the turbo brush with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Never immerse it in water. Regularly check that the cylindrical brush is not blocked by threads or hair and remove them if necessary.
What types of carpets should not be vacuumed with the turbo brush?
Avoid using the turbo brush on valuable hand-woven rugs (Berber, Persian, etc.) or very long-pile carpets, as you risk pulling warp threads. Also avoid highly textured or uneven floors.
Why does the turbo brush remain 1.5 mm from the floor?
Four casters maintain the turbo brush at a distance of 1.5 mm from the floor, which concentrates suction while avoiding damage to the flooring or sticking to the carpet.

Turbobrush features

The Turbobrush is operated by the suction power of the vacuum cleaner. It has a rotating roller brush which is very effective at picking up thread, hairs and fluff. Four rollers maintain the brush 1.5 mm away from the floor.

⚠️ The Turbobrush should not be used for vacuuming deep-pile rugs and carpets or valuable hand-knotted rugs and carpets, e.g. Persian and oriental rugs etc. There is a danger of the threads being pulled out.

⚠️ Do not use the Turbobrush to clean highly textured or uneven floors. The brush might come into contact with the floor and cause damage.

The Turbobrush is particularly suitable for vacuuming thread and hair from cut pile carpeting.

The standard floorhead or one of the Miele floorbrushes should be used for cleaning hard floors.

It is also important to observe the flooring manufacturer's cleaning and care instructions.

Using the Turbobrush

■ To achieve the best effect, pass the Turbobrush slowly backwards and forwards over the carpet or floor covering.

For carpets with fringes always draw the Turbobrush from the carpet across the fringe towards the rest of the floor.

Fitting the Turbobrush (dia. 01)

■ Instead of the usual floor attachment, fit the Turbobrush to the suction tube by twisting it to the left and right. Ensure that the locking device engages.

To open the air inlet valve (dia. 02)

The brush is operated by the suction power of the vacuum cleaner. With deeper, dense pile carpets the roller brush may rotate more slowly. This is caused by the carpet pile creating a seal around the mouth of the Turbobrush and hindering the flow of air. This will affect how well the carpet is brushed.

■ To increase the airflow, open the air inlet valve (top illustration).

In all other situations the air inlet valve should be closed, to benefit from the full suction power.

■ Close the air inlet valve (bottom illustration).

Maintenance

⚠️ Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for cleaning and maintenance work on the Turbobrush. Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug.

Removing threads and hairs (dia. 03)

■ Use scissors to cut any threads or hairs which have wound around the roller brush. There is a groove on the roller to guide you.

Then run the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the bits.
