Frequently Asked Questions - Blade V8 ZTE

How to install the nano-SIM card and microSD card?

Turn off the phone. Use the included ejection tool to open the tray. Place the nano-SIM cards (SIM 1 and SIM 2) and the microSDXC card into the corresponding slots, then reinsert the tray.

Is the battery removable?

No, the battery is not removable. Do not attempt to remove the back cover, as this could cause fire or explosion. Use only the charger and cable approved by ZTE.

How to charge the phone?

Plug the micro-USB cable into the charger and the phone. Connect the charger to a wall outlet. If the battery is very low, let it charge for at least 20 minutes before attempting to turn on the device.

What to do if the screen freezes?

Press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds to force restart the phone.

Is this phone waterproof?

No, the ZTE Blade V8 is not waterproof. Avoid any contact with liquids and keep the device dry.

What are the SAR values?

The head SAR is 0.333 W/kg and the body SAR (at 5 mm) is 1.229 W/kg, in accordance with European standards.

Can I use two SIM cards in 4G simultaneously?

No. Only one slot supports 4G/3G; the other card connects in 3G/2G. You can set which card uses 4G in the settings.

What type of memory card can I use?

You can insert a microSDXC card (up to 128 GB or more depending on specifications) into the dedicated slot on the SIM tray.

How to update the software?

Go to Settings > About phone > System updates. You can also visit the official ZTE website to download updates.

Can I use the phone while charging?

Yes, but this may slow down charging. It is recommended to use the original charger and cable to avoid any risk.

Getting to Know Your Phone

Installing the nano-SIM Card(s) and the microSDXC™ Card

Power off your phone before installing or removing the nano-SIM card.

WARNING!

To avoid damage to the phone, do not use any other kind of SIM cards, or any non-standard nano-SIM card cut from a SIM card. You can get a standard nano-SIM card from your service provider.

NOTE:

The two nano-SIM slots support 4G/3G/2G networks. When one nano-SIM card is set to connect with 4G/3G networks, the other installed nano-SIM card can only connect with 3G/2G networks.

Charging the Phone

Your phone's battery should have enough power for the phone to turn on, find a signal, and make a few calls. You should fully charge the battery as soon as possible.

WARNING!

Use only ZTE-approved chargers and cables. The use of unapproved accessories could damage your phone or cause the battery to explode.

WARNING!

Do not remove the back cover. The battery is not removable. Removal may cause fire or explosion.

NOTE:

If the battery is extremely low, you may be unable to power on the phone even when it is being charged. In this case, try again after charging the phone for at least 20 minutes. Contact the customer service if you still cannot power on the phone after prolonged charging.

NOTE:

If the screen freezes or takes too long to respond, try pressing and holding the Power key for about 10 seconds to restart the phone.

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)

Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves recommended by international guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the independent scientific organization ICNIRP and include safety margins designed to assure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health.

The guidelines use a unit of measurement known as Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile devices is 2 W/kg and the highest SAR value for this device when tested at the head was 0.333 W/kg*, and when tested at the body was 1.229 W/kg* with 5 mm distance.

As SAR is measured utilizing the device's highest transmitting power, the actual SAR of this device while operating is typically below that indicated above. This is due to automatic changes to the power level of the device to ensure it only uses the minimum power required to communicate with the network.

* The tests are carried out in accordance with EN 50360, EN 50566, EN 62479, EN 62209-1 and EN 62209-2.
