3. Function
Arendo's rice cooker enables you to cook rice according to your taste. Thanks to the inbuilt keep-warm function, the rice stays warm and edible for a longer time. The high capacity makes it possible to cook large quantities of rice.
4. Before initial use
When the device is put into operation for the first time, check the intactness of the product or components and their function again. Take the device out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Then rinse and dry the cooking vessel, spatula, steamer attachment and the measuring cup thoroughly. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Please wipe the outer body with a clean damp cloth. Then wipe it dry. Never immerse the outer body and the electronic parts in water or any other liquid! Never operate the device unattended and check it before each use for possible damage.
5. Usage
Measure the rice and water and distribute the ingredients evenly in the cooking vessel. Now place the cooking vessel in the rice cooker and close the lid.
Insert the power cord into a properly installed 230V AC power outlet and press the "Mode selection" switch on the front of the appliance. The red indicator starts glowing.
Allow the rice to cook for about 20 minutes and then mix it with the spatula. The rice cooker automatically changes over to the keep-warm mode once the rice is ready.
After cooking, remove the power cord from the socket and then remove the lid.
Note: If the rice needs to be kept warm, then the power cord must be connected and the lid should be in place. The keep-warm function will be terminated if the power cord is removed.
For example, you can use the steamer attachment to steam cook your vegetables. To do this, you have to place the steamer attachment on the cooking vessel and then add the ingredients. You then have place the lid on the steamer attachment.
The approximate portions of rice and water depend on the type of rice.
Sample portions of rice and water:
For one measuring cup of rice, fill water up to the "CUP 1" mark. For two measuring cups of rice, fill water up to the "CUP 2" mark.
For three measuring cups of rice, fill water up to the "CUP 3" mark.
For four measuring cups of rice, fill water up to the "CUP 4" mark.
For five measuring cups of rice, fill water up to the "CUP 5" mark.
Note: For a better result, we recommend that you rinse the rice beforehand with water.

6. Cleaning and Care
Clean the cooking vessel, the lid, the steamer attachment, the measuring cup and the spatula in warm soapy water. Do not use any strong or aggressive cleaning agents or scouring agents. Then rinse all the parts thoroughly and allow them to dry.
Wipe the outer body with a clean, damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly.
Ensure that water does not get into the switching mechanism or onto the heating plate since there is a risk of electric shock.
This appliance is not suitable for cleaning in dishwashers.

Please do not try to open the appliance to carry out repairs or modifications by yourself. Avoid contact with the mains supply. The appliance is free of electrical current only when disconnected. Please do not short-circuit the product. Do not forget to disconnect the power cord when the appliance is not being used or during thunderstorms. The appliance is not approved for outdoor use. Therefore, please use it only in dry surroundings.
Protect it from high humidity, water and snow. Do not expose the appliance to high outside temperatures. Do not expose the appliance to sudden changes in temperature or strong vibrations, as this could damage the electronic components. Check the appliance for any damage before using it. The appliance should not be used if it has been subject to impact or has been damaged in any other way. Please follow the local regulations and restrictions.
Do not use the appliance for purposes other than those described in this user manual. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children or mentally disabled persons. Use the appliance only with the base plate supplied. Any repairs or modifications to the appliance not carried out by the original supplier will void any warranty and guarantee claims.
The appliance should be used only by persons who have read and understood this user manual. The specifications of the appliance may be changed without special prior notice.

8. Disposal instructions
In line with the European WEEE directive, electrical and electronic devices should not be disposed of along with domestic waste. Their components must be sent separately for recycling or disposal, as improper disposal of toxic and dangerous components may permanently damage the environment.
