Thank you for purchasing your new POINT brand 23 liter Microwave oven. These operating instructions will help you use it properly and safely. We recommend that you spend some time reading this instruction manual in order that you fully understand all the operational features it offers. Read all the safety instructions carefully before use and keep this instruction manual for future reference.

Maintenance of your microwave
WARNING : It is hazardous for anyone other than a qualified technician to carry out any service or repair operation which involves the removal of a cover that gives protection against exposure to microwave energy.
WARNING : If the door or door seals are damaged, the microwave must not be operated until it has been repaired by a qualified technician.
- If smoke is observed, switch off or unplug the microwave and keep the door closed in order to stifle any flames.
- If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a service agent or a qualified technician.
- If you have a pacemaker, contact your doctor before using a microwave.
Microwave Use
- This microwave is not intended for commercial use.
- It should never be used for drying clothes or for other non-food purposes.
- The microwave should not be left unattended when in use.
- The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the microwave is operating.
- To prevent high moisture content gathering inside the microwave cavity, open the door immediately after the cooking function has stopped to allow steam to escape.
- Only use utensils that are suitable for microwave use.
- Care should be taken when using paper, plastic, wooden or other combustible materials in the microwave as they can catch fire.
- Oil & fat for deep frying should not be heated in the microwave.
- Only use cling film designed for microwave use and take extra care when removing the film to avoid steam burns.
- Only heat popcorn that has been designed for microwave use.
Cooking Use
- As the power of different microwaves can vary considerably, care must be taken when first using this microwave as it may cook faster than expected.
- Do not leave the microwave unattended during use.
• Take care when cooking food with a high sugar or fat content, such as Christmas pudding or fruitcake.
The sugar or fat can overheat and in some cases catch fire.
WARNING : Only allow children to use the microwave without supervision when adequate instructions have given so that the child is able to use the microwave in a safe way and understands the hazards of improper use; DO NOT assume that because a child has mastered one cooking skill he/she can cook everything without close supervision. The microwave MUST NOT be treated nor used like a toy.
Fire!
In the event of fire:
- Keep the microwave door closed.
- Turn off the power.
- Unplug the microwave from the mains power.
First Aid
Treat scalding by:
- Quickly placing the scald under cold running water for at least 10 minutes.
- Cover with a clean dry dressing. Do not use creams, oils or lotions.
Cleaning your Microwave
The microwave should be cleaned regularly and food deposits removed. Failure to maintain the microwave in a clean condition can affect the life of the microwave and possibly result in a hazardous situation. (See cleaning your microwave)
Do not use these in your Microwave
- Metal objects are not to be used in the microwave. These include:
- Metal cooking utensils.
- Metal plates or trays
- Wine twist ties
- Crockery with metal trims

Meat thermometer

Never use equipment made of metal, except aluminum foil in your microwave. The microwave energy cannot pass through the metal so it bounces off and sparks against the inside of the microwave.
- Stop the microwave straight away if any equipment is causing sparks.
- Remember that some crockery has a metal trim around the edge. Even this trim can cause sparks.
Containers
WARNING : Pressure will build up in sealed containers and can cause them to explode. Therefore, do not use the following in your microwave:
- Sealed containers - Capped bottles - Vacuum containers
- Sealed jars - Hard-boiled eggs - Eggs in their shells
- Nuts
• Always pierce the skin of fruit and vegetables, such as potatoes.
- Never use scratched, cracked or damaged glass in a microwave. Damaged glass can explode.
- When heating food in plastic or paper containers, keep an eye on the microwave due to the possibility of ignition.
Delayed Boiling
Liquids heated in a microwave can boil up when removing them from the microwave.
Take the following precautions :
• Always stir liquids, before and after cooking.
- Allow them to stand.
- Use containers that are wider at the top than at the bottom.
Preparing food for Babies
Extra care must be taken when preparing food or drink for babies and small children.
• Always test the food or liquid temperature before feeding it to the baby.
- When using a baby bottle, ensure the teat is removed before heating.
- When warming milk, ensure the bottle is shaken.


Caution!
Hot Surface
During cooking the outer surface will become hot. Do not touch the outer casing of the microwave. Care should be taken not to store any items on top of your microwave.
Earthing Instructions
WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
- This appliance is equipped with a mains cable having an earthed plug.
- The plug must be plugged into an appropriate mains socket that is installed and earthed in accordance with all local standards and requirements.
Warning!
- Improper connection of the appliance-earthing conductor can result in a risk of an electric shock.
- Check with a qualified electrician or service representative if you are in doubt whether the appliance is properly earthed.
- Never modify the plug provided with the appliance.
- If the plug does not fit properly in the mains socket, have a qualified electrician install a proper mains socket.
PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY
(a) Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open since this can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to break or tamper with the safety interlocks.
(b) Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.

To Reduce the Risk of Injury to Persons Grounding Installation
DANGER
Electric Shock Hazard Touching some of the internal components can cause serious personal injury or death. Do not disassemble this appliance.
WARNING
Electric Shock Hazard Improper use of the grounding can result in electric shock. Do not plug into an outlet until appliance is properly installed and grounded.
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current.
Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions are not completely understood or if doubt exists as to whether the appliance is properly grounded.
If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a 3-wire extension cord.
- A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- If a long cord set or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
2) The extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
3) The long cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
CLEANING
Be sure to unplug the microwave oven from the power supply.
- Clean the cavity of the microwave oven after using with a slightly damp cloth.
- Clean the accessories with warm soapy water.
- The door frame and seal and neighbouring parts must be cleaned carefully with a damp cloth when they are dirty.
- Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the microwave oven door glass since they can scratch the surface, which may result in shattering the glass.
- Cleaning Tip-For easier cleaning of the cavity walls where cooked food has touched: Place half a lemon in a bowl, add 300ml (1/2 pint) water and heat on 100% microwave power for 10 minutes. Wipe the microwave oven clean using a soft, dry cloth.
UTENSILS
CAUTION
Personal Injury Hazard
It is hazardous for anyone other than a qualified person to carry out any service or repair operation that involves the removal of a cover which gives protection against exposure to microwave energy.
See the instructions on "Materials you can use in a microwave oven or to be avoided in a microwave oven." There may be certain non-metallic utensils that are not safe to use for microwaving. If in doubt, you can test the utensil in question following the procedure below.
Utensil Test:
- Fill a microwave-safe container with 1 cup of cold water (250ml) along with the utensil in question.
- Cook on maximum power for 1 minute.
- Carefully feel the utensil. If the empty utensil is warm, do not use it for microwave cooking.
- Do not exceed 1 minute cooking time.

Turntable Installation

a. Never place the glass tray upside down. The glass tray should never have its movement restricted.
b. Both glass tray and turntable ring assembly must always be used during cooking.
c. All food and containers of food are always placed on the glass tray for cooking.
d. If glass tray or turntable ring assembly cracks or breaks, contact your nearest authorized service center.
Countertop Installation
Remove all packing material and accessories.
Examine the microwave oven for any damage such as dents or broken door. Do not install if microwave oven is damaged.
Cabinet: Remove any protective film found on the microwave oven cabinet surface.
Do not remove the light brown Mica cover that is attached to the microwave oven cavity to protect the magnetron.
Installation
- Select a level surface that provides enough open space for the intake and/or outlet vents.

(1) The minimum installation height is 85cm.
(2) The rear surface of the oven should be placed against a wall.
Leave a minimum clearance of 30cm above the microwave oven, and a minimum clearance of 20cm is required between the microwave oven and any adjacent walls.
(3) Do not remove the legs from the bottom of the microwave oven.
(4) Blocking the intake and/or outlet openings can damage the microwave oven.
(5) Place the microwave oven as far away from radios and TVs as possible. Operation of a microwave oven may cause interference to your radio or TV reception.
2. Plug your microwave oven into a standard household outlet. Be sure the voltage and the frequency is the same as the voltage and the frequency on the rating label.
WARNING: Do not install microwave oven over a range cooktop or other heat-producing appliance. If installed near or over a heat source, the heat source, the microwave oven could be damaged and the warranty will be void.
The accessible surface may be hot during operation.

OPERATION
This microwave oven uses a modern electronic control to adjust cooking parameters to meet your needs for better cooking.
1. Clock Setting
When the microwave oven is turned on, the microwave oven will display "0:00", and the buzzer will ring once.
1) Press "CLOCK/KITCHEN TIMER" once. "00:00" displays.
2) Turn " 🔍 " to adjust the hour digits, the input time should be within 0--23(24-hour).
3) Press "CLOCK/KITCHEN TIMER", the minute digits will flash.
4) Turn "☐" to adjust the minute digits, the input time should be within 0--59.
5) Press "CLOCK/KITCHEN TIMER" to finish clock setting. ":" will flash.
Note: 1) If the clock is not set, it will not function when powered.
2) During the process of clock setting, if you press " STOP/CLEAR ", the microwave oven will automatically go back to its previous status .
2. Microwave Cooking
1) Press "CLOCK/KITCHEN TIMER" twice, the screen will display 00:00.
2) Turn " 🔍" to enter the correct timer. (The maximum cooking time is 95 minutes.)
3) Press " START/+30SEC./CONFIRM " to confirm setting.
4) When the kitchen time is reached, the buzzer will ring 5 times.
Note: The kitchen timer is different from the 24-hour system, Kitchen Timer is a timer.
3. Microwave Cooking
Press "MICROWAVE" once, the screen will display "P100". Press "MCROWAVE" repeatedly or turn "☐h" to choose the power you want, and "P100", "P80" "P50", "P30" or "P10", will display for each added press. Then press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to confirm, and turn ☐h to set cooking time from 0:05 to 95:00. Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" again to start cooking.
Example: If you want to use 80% microwave power to cook for 20 minutes, you can operate the microwave oven following the below steps.
1) Press "MICROWAVE" once, the screen display "P100".
2) Press "MICROWAVE" once again or turn "to choose 80% microwave power.
3) Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to confirm, and the screen displays "P 80".
4) Turn "☐" to adjust the cooking time until the microwave oven displays "20:00".
5) Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to start cooking.
NOTE: the step quantities for the adjustment time of the coding switch are as follow:

4. Grill or Combi. Cooking
Press "GRILL/COMBI." the screen will display "G-1", then press "GRILL/COMBI." repeatedly or turn the "☐" to choose the power you want, and "G-1", "C-1", "C-2", "C-3" or "C-4", will display for each added press. Then press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to confirm, and turn "☐" to set cooking time from 0:05 to 95:00. Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" again to start cooking.
Example: If you want to use grill power to cook for 10 minutes, you can operate the microwave oven following the below steps.
1) Press "GRILL/COMBI." once, the screen display "G-1".
2) Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to confirm.
3) Turn "☐" to adjust the cooking time until the microwave oven displays "10:00".
4) Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to start cooking.
Note: When half the grill time has passed, the microwave oven will sound twice, and this is normal. In order to have a better effect for grilling food, you should turn the food over, close the door, and then press"START/ +30SEC./ Confirm" to continue cooking. If no operation, the microwave oven will continue working.

5. Convection Cooking (With preheating function)
The convection cooking can let you cook food in the same way as a traditional oven. Microwave is not used. It is recommended that you should preheat the microwave oven to the appropriate temperature before placing the food in the microwave.
1) Press the "CONVECTION" button once, "100" flash.
2) Keep pressing "CONVECTION" or turn " 🔍 " to select the convection temperature.
Note: the temperature can be selected from 100 degrees to 190 degrees.
3) Press the "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to confirm the temperature.
4) Press the "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to start preheating. When the preheating temperature is reached, the buzzer will sound twice to remind you to put the food into the microwave oven. and the preheated temperature is displayed and flash.
5) Put the food into the microwave oven and close the door.
Turn "☐" to adjust the cooking time. (The maximum setting time is 95 minutes.)
6) Press the "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" hotstart cooking.
Note: a. Cooking time cannot be input until the preheating temperature has been reached. If the temperature arrives, door must be opened to input the cooking time.
b. If the time is not input within 5 minutes, the microwave oven will stop preheating. The buzzer will sound five times and turn back to the ready state.
6. Convection Cooking (Without pre-heating function)
1) Press the "CONVECTION" button once, "100" flashes.
2) Keep pressing "CONVECTION" or turn " 🔍" to select the convection temperature.
Note : the temperature can be selected from 100 degrees to 190 degrees.
3) Press the "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to confirm the temperature
4) Turn "☐" to adjust the cooking time. (The maximum setting time is 95 minutes.)
5) Press the "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" button to start cooking.
7. Multi-Stage Cooking
Two stages can be maximumly set in order. If the first stage is defrosting, it will automatically be in the first stage. The buzzer will ring once after each stage and the next stage will begin.
Note: Auto menu and preheating cannot be set as one of the multi-stages.
Example: if you want to defrost the your food for 5 minutes, then cook with 80% microwave power for 7 minutes. The steps would be as follows:
1) Press "WEIGHT/TIME DEFROST" twice, the screen will display "dEF2";
2) Turn " 🔥 " to adjust the defrost time of 5 minutes;
3) Press "MICROWAVE" once;
4) Turn " 🔥 " to choose 80% microwave power till "P80" display;
5) Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to confirm;
6) Turn " 🔥 " to adjust the cooking time of 7 minutes;
7) Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" to start cooking.
8. Fast Cooking
1) In a ready state, press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" button to cook with 100% power level for 30 seconds. Each press on the same button will increase cooking time by 30 seconds. The maximum cooking time is 95 minutes.
2) During microwave, grill, convection and combination states, press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" wii increase cooking time by 30 seconds.
Note: this function cannot work under weight defrost, multi-stage and auto menu cooking.
9. Fast Microwave Cooking
In a ready state, turn " "left to choose cooking time directly then press
"START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" button to cook with 100% microwave power. This program can be set as the first stage of multi-stagev cooking

10. Auto Menu
1) In a ready state, turn " " right to choose the required function and "A1", "A2", "A3"...."A10" will be displayed.
2) Press "START/ +30 SEC./CONFIRM" to confirm the menu you need.
3) Turn " 🔍" to choose the weight of menu, and "g" indicator will display.
4) Press "START/ +30 SEC./CONFIRM" to start cooking.
Note: When you choose A9 cake, do not put the cake into the microwave oven at the beginning. The microwave oven needs to be preheated to 160 degrees first. After sevarel minutes, the buzzer will sound twice to remind you to put the cake into the microwave oven. After putting the cake in the microwave oven, press start again. The timer will count down, and the cake will be cooked perfectly. When finished cooking, it will sound five times to remind you to take the cake out.
11. Defrost by Weight.
1) Press "WEIGHT/TIME DEFROST" pad once, the microwave oven will display "dEF1".
2) Turn " 🔍" to select the weight of food. At the same time, "g" will display, The weight range is 100-2000g.
3) Press "START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" button to start defrosting.
12. Defrost by Time
1) Press "WEIGHT/TIME DEFROST" button twice, the microwave oven will display "dEF2".
2) Turn " 🔥" to select the cooking time. The maximum setting time is 95 minutes.
3) Press " START/+30SEC./CONFIRM" button to start defrosting.
13. Inquiring Function
(1) During cooking, press "CLOCK/KITCHEN TIMER" to check the current time.
(2) During cooking, press "MICROWAVE", "GRILL/ COMBI." or "CONVECTION", the current power will be displayed for 2-3 seconds.
14. Lock-out Function for Children
Lock: In a ready state, press "STOP/CLEAR" for 3 seconds, there will be a long "beep" denoting entering into the children-lock state and " indicator will display and the display will show current time or 0:00.
Lock quitting: In locked state, press "STOP/CLEAR" for 3 seconds, there will be a long "beep" denoting that the lock is released, and "→0" indicator will disappear.
15. Other Instructions
(1) The buzzer will sound once when turning the control at the beginning;
(2) "START/+30 SEC./CONFIRM" must be pressed to continue cooking if the door is opened during cooking;
(3) When the cooking program is selected, but if user doesn't press "START/+30 SEC./CONFIRM" within 5 minutes, the selected cooking program will be cancelled and current time will display automatically.
(4) When you press a button, there will be a sound to inform you the setting is selected, if no sound, it mean that user doesn't press it well, and the setting isn't selected.
(5) The buzzer will sound five times to remind you when cooking is finished.
