Frequently Asked Questions - KS 32265-63 GRAM

How do I adjust the temperature on my Gram KS 32265-63 refrigerator?
Turn the thermostat knob to the desired setting. Settings range from 1 (warmest) to 5 (coldest). For ambient temperatures above 25°C, use the maximum setting; below 25°C, use the minimum setting. The average fridge temperature should be around +5°C.
What should I do if the refrigerator does not operate?
Check that the power cord is properly plugged into a grounded socket. Ensure the fuse is not blown. If the compressor does not start, wait approximately 6 minutes for the protective thermic to reset. If still not running, contact GRAM service.
How does the defrost system work?
The fridge compartment defrosts automatically. Thawing water flows through a drain channel into a collection container at the rear. During defrost, water droplets may form at the back of the fridge; they will thaw during the next cycle. Periodically check that the drain is not blocked.
How do I change the interior light bulb?
The LED lamp used for illumination must be replaced by an authorized service. Do not attempt to change it yourself. Contact GRAM service for assistance.
How should I clean the refrigerator?
Unplug the appliance before cleaning. Use lukewarm water for the exterior and a solution of one teaspoon bicarbonate of soda per pint of water for the interior. Wipe dry. Never use sharp instruments, soap, or household cleaners. Avoid getting water into the lamp housing.
Why is there condensation on the inner walls or side walls?
Condensation can occur due to hot and humid weather, frequent door openings, or leaving the door ajar. It is normal. Wipe with a dry cloth and check if it persists. To reduce condensation, limit door openings and ensure the door is fully closed.
What should I do if the compressor is not running?
The compressor may not start immediately after a power failure or unplugging due to unbalanced refrigerant pressure. Wait at least 6 minutes for the protective thermic to reset. If it does not start after that, check power supply and contact service.
How can I reverse the door opening direction?
The door can be reversed following the instructions in the manual. The process involves removing screws, adjusting hinges, and repositioning the door. Refer to the Reversing the door section with diagrams. If unsure, consult an authorized service.
What if the refrigerator is making unusual noises?
Normal noises include liquid spilling (refrigerant flow), air blowing (fans), and compressor hum. If the noise is excessive, check that the appliance is level and on a solid floor. Remove objects from the top. If vibrations persist, adjust the front feet.
How do I dispose of the refrigerator at the end of its life?
Do not dispose with household waste. Take it to a collection center for electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Remove the plug and disable door locks to prevent child entrapment. Consult local authorities for designated drop-off points.

The decoration kit is not a part of the product but can be delivered as an accessory.
  • When you operate your refrigerator for the first time, please observe the following instructions during the initial six hour.

  • The door should not be opened frequently.

  • It must be operated empty without any food in it.
  • Do not unplug your refrigerator. If a power failure occurs out of your control, please see the warnings in the “Recommended solutions for the problems” section.
  • Original packaging and foam materials should be kept for future transportations or moving.
  • Due to temperature change as a result of opening/closing the product door during operation, condensation on the door/body shelves and the glass containers is normal.

Temperature Control And Adjustment

The operating temperature is regulated by the temperature control.

Warm Cold 1 2 3 4 5

(Or) Min. Max.

1=Lowest cooling setting

(Warmest setting).

5=Highest cooling setting

(Coldest setting)

The average temperature inside the fridge should be around +5°C.

Please choose the setting according to the desired temperature.

Please note that there will be different temperatures in the cooling area.

The coldest region is immediately above the vegetable compartment.

The interior temperature also depends on ambient temperature, the frequency with which the door is opened and the amount of foods kept inside.

Frequently opening the door causes the interior temperature to rise.

For this reason, it is recommended to close the door again as soon as possible after use.

Thermostat setting button

The interior temperature of your refrigerator changes for the following reasons;

  • Seasonal temperatures,
  • Frequent opening of the door and leaving the door open for long periods,

- Food put into the refrigerator without cooling down to the room temperature,

- The location of the refrigerator in the room (e.g. exposing to sunlight).

- You may adjust the varying interior temperature due to such reasons by using the thermostat. Numbers around the thermostat button indicates the cooling degrees.

- If the ambient temperature is higher than 25^ C, turn the thermostat button to maximum position.

- If the ambient temperature is lower than 25^ C, turn the thermostat button to minimum position.

Defrost

The fridge compartment defrosts automatically. The thawing water flows through the drain channel into a collection container at the rear of the device.

During defrosting, water droplets form at the back of the fridge due to the evaporator.

If not all of the drops run down, they may freeze again after defrosting but will be thawed during the next defrost cycle.

Check the flow of the thawed water from time to time. It may become blocked occasionally.

Changing the illumination lamp

To change the Bulb/LED used for illumination of your refrigerator, call your AuthorisedService.

The lamp(s) used in this appliance is not suitable for household room illumination. The intended purpose of this lamp is to assist the user to place foodstuffs in the refrigerator/freezer in a safe and comfortable way. The lamps used in this appliance have to withstand extreme physical conditions such as temperatures below -20 °C.
