Use the AV-OUT socket on the Master unit with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm AV cable (included). For external audio, you can also connect earphones to the headphone jacks.

Can I use batteries?

No, the player is powered only via the included 12V car cigarette lighter adapter. There is no internal battery.

What disc formats are compatible?

The player supports DVD, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, CD-DA, CD-R/RW, MP3, JPEG, Kodak Picture CD, and MPEG-4 files. Do not use CD-ROM, CD-G, or CVD discs.

How do I set parental controls?

Press Setup in stop mode, navigate to Custom Setup > Parental Ctrl, enter the 4-digit password (default 0000), and choose a rating level from KID to ADULT.

How do I clean the device?

Unplug the player. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth dampened with a mild soap solution and wring thoroughly. Never use alcohol, benzine, thinner, or compressed air.

Why is there no sound?

Check that the AV cable is properly connected and the TV input is correct. Ensure the player is not muted (press Mute button). Also verify the audio settings in the Audio Setup menu.

How do I use the remote control?

Point the remote at the remote sensor on the Master unit (within 5 meters, 60° angle). Install a CR2025 lithium battery matching the + and - marks. Remove the insulating strip if it's the first use.

How do I adjust the LCD brightness or color?

Press the LCD button repeatedly to cycle through Panel, Color, Brightness, and LCD settings. Use the Left/Right arrows to adjust values. Press Play/Sel. to confirm LCD ON/OFF.

How to secure the DVD player in a car?

Thread the car straps through the eyelets on the player, loop them around the headrest with the player facing the rear seat, and fasten the clips. Tighten the straps to ensure safety. Never use the player as a driver.

Safety Warnings

Follow Instructions - All operating and maintenance instructions should be followed and warnings adhered to.

Screen Burn - ATTENTION! Please note that some programmes are broadcast with a logo that will appear in the corner of your TV screen. Some of these logo's can be very bright and may cause damage by permanently marking the logo on the screen. To prevent this, avoid leaving channels displaying a logo for a prolonged periods of time, particularly when the TV is not being watched.

Car Use - On no account must this unit be used by the driver of a moving motor vehicle. If the unit is being used by a passenger in your vehicle, make sure that it does not cause distraction to the driver, is secured or held safely and does not obstruct any safety device (e.g. airbag, seat belt, etc.) that is fitted. It is advised that this product is installed in the rear of the vehicle only. Make sure that it is always securely fastened before use. Never place the product in a position where a sudden stop will cause it to become dislodged.

Standby - The standby button on the remote control doesn't switch off the DVD completely and the DVD will continue to draw electricity from the mains supply. Therefore in the interests of safety and to avoid unnecessary energy consumption, never leave your DVD in standby while unattended for long periods of time (eg. Overnight, while on holiday or while out of the house) and make sure the unit is unplugged from the mains power supply.

Cleaning - Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.

Accessories - Do not use accessories not recommended in this instruction book as they may be hazardous.

Water and Moisture - Hazard of electric shock. Do not use this product near water or in rainy/moist situations.

Objects and Liquid - Never allow objects of any kind or liquids to be pushed/spilled into this product through openings as they may come into contact with dangerous voltage or other hazards. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit.

Condensation - Moisture will form in the operating section of the player if the player is brought from cool surroundings into a warm room or if the temperature of the room rises suddenly. When this happens, the player's performance will be impaired. To prevent this, let the player stand in its new surroundings for about an hour before switching it on, or make sure that the room temperature rises gradually. Condensation may also form during the summer if the player is exposed to the breeze from an air conditioner. In such cases, change the location of the player.

Placing or Moving - Do not place on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. A product and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn.

Ventilation - To ensure proper ventilation and proper operation, never cover the unit with a cloth or other material and make sure there is a gap of at least 10mm around the outside of the unit.

Damage Requiring Service - Disconnect this product from the wall outlet and all power sources including batteries, and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

a) When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.
b) If any liquid has been spilled onto, or objects have fallen into the product.
c) If the product has been exposed to rain or water.

1 Thread both strap ends through the strap eyelets.

Note: Make sure the buckles are properly assembled to avoid accidental loosening.

2 Loop the straps around the headrest, with the DVD player facing the rear seat, then fasten the straps with the clip.

3 Connect the Master and Slave DVD players to your car's DC12V cigarette lighter socket with the cigarette adapter.
4 Connect 3.5mm to 3.5mm AV cable with the Master and Slave DVD player.

- You may connect earphones to both Master and Slave players' earphone jacks. The Master DVD player has two earphone sockets. One is reserved for the Slave player.

Remote Control Operation Range

Point the remote control unit no more than 5 meters from the remote control sensor and within 60^ of the front of the unit. The operating distance may vary according to the brightness of the room.

Battery Installation for the Remote Control

Insert the battery and match the (+) and (-) on battery to the marks inside the battery compartment. Remember to remove the insulating mylar strip from the battery if the battery is being used for the first time.

Note:

The battery in the Remote Control normally lasts for about one year, although this depends on how often and for what operations the Remote Control is used.

• If the remote control unit fails to work even when it is operated near the player, replace the battery.
• Use a 3V lithium battery (No. CR2025 or equivalent).

Basic DVD Playback

1 Turn on the player. Open the disc cover.
2 Hold the edge of the disc to put it in the disc tray with the printed side up.
3 Close disc cover.

- Close the disc cover and the portable DVD player starts playback if the disc does not have any menus recorded on it.

- If the disc has one or more titles recorded on it, a menu screen will appear on the screen.

4 To play a title, press ☐ Up / ☐ Down / ☑ Left / Right or Number Button(s) to highlight it and then press Play/ Sel. Play/Sel..

Stopping Playback and Returning to the Menu Screen (If a Menu Screen is Available on the Disc)

Pausing Playback

Frame Advance (Step)

1 Press ☉ Pause to pause playback.
- The disc is advanced by one frame each time pressing 📄 Pause.

Fast Forward and Backward

1 Press ➕ Fast Forward or ➕ Fast Backward during playback.

The speed of advance ( x2, x4, x8, x16 and x32) or reverse ( x2, x4, x8, x16 and x32) changes for each press of ⊙ Fast Forward or ⊙ Fast Backward.

- When the preferred language is not selected even after pressing the button several times, it may indicate that language is not available on the disc.

Changing Subtitle Languages

1 Press 📄 Subtitle during playback.
2 Press 📄 Subtitle a number of times until a preferred language is selected.
3 To clear the subtitle display, press Subtitle until Subtitle Off appears on the screen.

Viewing from Different Angles

1 Press Angle during playback.
2 Press Angle a number of times until the preferred viewing angle is selected.

Note:

- This operation works only with discs on which multiple viewing angles are recorded.

Using a DVD Menu

1 Press Title in stop mode. The DVD menu available on the disc appears.
2 Press Up / Down Left Right to select the preferred item.
3 Press Play Sel. Play/Sel. to enter to the selected item.
4 To return to the previous menu screen, press Title.

• The above operation instructions only works with disc with Title Function.

1 Load an Audio CD.

• For audio CDs without playback control, the DVD player starts playback.
• For audio CDs provided with playback control, a menu appears after a few seconds.

2 To play a music track in the menu, press Left in the Stop mode to enter the folder list on the left of the screen. Press Up / Down to highlight a folder.

3 Press Right to enter the file list on the right of the screen. Press Up / Down to highlight a track and then press Play/Sel. to play.

Before requesting service for the DVD Player, check the chart below for a possible cause of the problem you are experiencing. Some simple checkups or a minor adjustment on your part may eliminate the problem and restore proper operation.

Distorted picture.• Sometimes a small amount of picture distortion may appear. This is not a mal-function.
Completely distorted picture or no colorin picture.	• The disc format is not according to the TV-set used (PAL/NTSC).
Picture is distorted during rapid advanceor rapid reverse.	• The picture will be somewhat distorted at times: this is normal.
No rapid advance (or rapid reverse)playback.	• Some discs may have sections which prohibit rapid advance (or rapid reverse).
No 4:3 (16:9) picture.	• Choose the correct setup “TV Aspect” item.
No operations perform with the remotecontrol.	• Check the batteries are installed with the correct polarities (+ and -).• The batteries are depleted: replace them with new ones.
• Point the remote control unit at the remote control signal sensor and operate.• Operate the remote control unit at a distance of not more than 6 meters from theremote control signal sensor.	• Remove the obstacles between the remote control unit and remote control signal sensor

Handling Precautions

- Hold the disc by the edges so the surface will not be soiled with fingerprints. (A)

Fingerprints, dirt and scratches can cause skipping and distortion.

• Do not write on the label side with a ball-point pen or other writing utensils.
• Do not use record cleaning sprays, benzine, thinner, static electricity prevention liquids or any other solvent.
• Be careful not to drop or bend the disc.
• Do not install more than 1 disc on the disc tray.
• Do not try to close the disc tray when the disc is not installed properly.
• Be sure to store the disc in its exclusive case when not in use.

If the surface is soiled (B)

Wipe gently with a soft, damp (water only) cloth.

When wiping discs, always move the cloth from the center hole toward the outer edge.

(If you wipe the discs using a circular motion, circular scratches are likely to occur, which will cause noise.)

If the disc is brought from a cold to a warm environment, moisture may form on the disc

Wipe the moisture off with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth before using the disc.

Improper disc storage

You can damage discs if you store them in the following places:

• Areas exposed to direct sunlight
  • Humid or dusty areas
• Areas directly exposed to a heat outlet or heating appliance

Maintenance

• Be sure to turn the unit off and disconnect the AC power cord before maintaining the unit.
• Wipe this unit with a dry soft cloth.

If the surfaces are extremely dirty, wipe clean with a cloth which has been dipped in a weak soap-and-water solution and wrung out thoroughly, and then wipe again with a dry cloth.

- Never use alcohol, benzine, thinner, cleaning fluid or other chemicals. And do not use compressed air to remove dust.
