Frequently Asked Questions - CTC3860V Elvita

How do I properly install the washing machine?
Ensure the machine is on a level surface. Remove all transport bolts using the provided wrench. Connect the water inlet hose to a cold water tap and the drain hose to a suitable drain. Plug into a grounded outlet.
What should I do if the machine shows an error code?
Refer to the manual's error code table. Common codes: E01 (door lock issue), E02 (drainage problem). Try restarting the cycle after checking hoses and filter.
How often should I clean the lint filter?
Clean the filter every month or after each load if you notice slow drainage. Turn the filter cap counterclockwise, remove debris, and rinse under water.
Can I use high-efficiency (HE) detergent?
Yes, HE detergent is recommended to prevent oversudsing and ensure proper cleaning. Use the marked compartments.
Why is my washing machine vibrating excessively?
Check that the machine is level and all transport bolts are removed. Uneven loads can also cause vibration; redistribute clothes evenly.
How do I descale the washing machine?
Run a cleaning cycle with a descaling agent or white vinegar. Place the agent in the detergent drawer and select a hot cycle (90°C) without laundry.
Can I wash delicate fabrics in this machine?
Yes, use the Delicates program with cold water and a reduced spin speed. Place small items in a laundry bag.
What is the maximum spin speed and how does it affect drying?
Maximum spin speed is 1200 rpm. Higher speeds reduce moisture content, shortening drying time. Adjust based on fabric type.
How do I activate the child lock?
Press and hold the Child Lock button for 3 seconds until the indicator lights up. Repeat to deactivate.
What should I do if the door won't open after a cycle?
Wait a few minutes for the lock to release. If still stuck, check if the machine has water inside; run a drain cycle. If problem persists, contact support.

Cotton Hard-wearing textiles, heat-resistant textiles made of cotton or linen.
Cotton Eco This improves washing performance and increases washing time.
SyntheticFor washing synthetic items, such as shirts, coats and blended fabrics. When knitted garments are washed the amount of detergent should be reduced to avoid excessive foaming.
Baby CareFor washing baby clothes. This improves washing and rinsing performance to protect baby's skin.
Jeans Specially for jeans.
Mix Mixed load consisting of textiles made of cotton and synthetics.
Colours For washing brightly coloured clothes. This protects colours better.
Sport Wear For washing active wear.
QuickExtra-short program. Suitable for lightly soiled washing and small amounts of laundry.
DelicateFor delicate, washable textiles, e.g. made of silk, satin, synthetic fibres or blended fabrics.
WoolHand or machine-washable wool or wool-rich textiles. Especially gentle wash program to prevent shrinkage, with longer program pauses.
Spin Only Extra spin with selectable spin speed.
Rinse & Spin Extra rinse with spin.
Dry OnlySelect this to dry clothes. The temperature and drying time should be chosen to suit the load.
1 Hour W/DFor small amounts of synthetic items or shirts. The load limit is 1 kg (about 4 shirts). When you have an urgent appointment but no more clean shirts left in your cupboard, this program will help you. Time duration is only 1 hour including wash and dry. Note: This program is not suitable for large towels or jeans, as they take longer to dry.

Cleaning the drain pump filter

Elvita CTC3860V - Maintenance - 1

WARNING!

  • Be careful of the hot water!
  • Allow detergent solution to cool down.
  • Unplug the machine to avoid electrical shock before washing.
  • The drain pump filter is designed to trap fibres and small foreign objects from laundry.
  • Clean the filter periodically to ensure normal operation of the washer dryer.

Elvita CTC3860V - WARNING! - 1

CAUTION!

  • Make sure the valve cap and emergency drain hose are reinstalled properly; fittings must be correctly aligned otherwise water may leak.
  • Some machines do not have an emergency drain hose, so steps 2 and 3 can be skipped. Rotate lower filter cover to make water run into basin.
  • When the appliance is in use and depending on the program selected there may be hot water in the pump. Never remove the pump cover during a wash cycle, always wait until the appliance has finished the cycle and is empty. When replacing the cover, ensure it is securely re-tightened.
