Frequently Asked Questions - Stretch 3.0 Plugwise

How do I connect the Plugwise Stretch 3.0 to my WiFi network?
You can connect via WPS (press the button for 2 seconds then enable WPS on router), use the Plugwise Connect app (Android), or via the web interface after connecting to the Stretch's access point (network starting with 'stretch_').
What is the purpose of the 8-letter code on the back?
The short ID is used to log in to the Stretch's web page at connect.plugwise.net and as the password when connecting to its access point.
How far should the Stretch be from the Circle+?
The Circle+ (the one with a grey back) must be within 5 meters of the Stretch for optimal network performance.
What do the LEDs indicate?
STATUS blinks slowly during startup; solid when connected. WLAN blinks during WiFi communication; slow blink indicates connection issues. LAN blinks during wired communication.
Can I use the Stretch with a LAN cable instead of WiFi?
Yes. Connect a network cable between the router and the Stretch, then restart it. The STATUS and LAN LEDs will be solid when connected.
How do I reset the network settings?
Press the black button for 5 seconds until the STATUS LED blinks 5 times and the WLAN LED starts blinking rapidly. This deletes all network settings.
What does the Stretch manage in the Plugwise system?
The Stretch acts as the gateway and central manager for Plugwise Circles and Stealths, allowing you to monitor and control energy consumption via the Plugwise app.
Is the Stretch compatible with the Plugwise app?
Yes, after connecting the Stretch to your network, you can add it to the Plugwise app. Ensure your device is on the same network as the Stretch.
What should I do if the Stretch cannot connect to WiFi?
First, reset the network connection (press button for 5 seconds). Alternatively, temporarily connect via LAN cable, configure WiFi through the web interface, then disconnect the cable.
Can I mount the Stretch on a wall?
Yes, the package includes a wall plate for mounting. Place the Stretch centrally, ideally near a stairwell on the first floor, for best ZigBee coverage.

Old electrical and electronic appliances very often contain valuable materials. Therefore, never dispose of discarded appliances with normal household waste. Always hand in your old appliances at the municipal collection points for electrical and electronic equipment.

This is the short installation manual for the Plugwise Stretch 3. The Stretch is the gateway that works together with the Plugwise Circle or Stealth using the Plugwise ZigBee protocol. The Stretch is the manager in the Plugwise network. With the Circle or Stealth you can measure the electricity consumption and switch appliances on or off in your home.

In this manual we shortly describe how to install the Stretch. Because you will always use the Stretch in combination with a Circle or Stealth, we also briefly explain how to set up a good network using the Stretch and Circles. The Stealth has the same functionalities as the Circle, but unlike the Circle that you plug into a socket, the Stealth is a built-in module*.
