Frequently Asked Questions - FSI 3225-92 N GRAM

How do I set the correct temperature for my Gram FSI 3225-92 N freezer?
Turn the thermostat knob inside the freezer. Settings 1-7: 1 warmest, 7 coldest. For normal use, set to 4 (approx -18°C). Adjust as needed.
How often should I defrost the freezer?
Defrost when ice layer reaches 5-10 mm thickness, typically every 6-12 months. Remove food, unplug, leave door open, and place towels to absorb water.
What does the 'Fast Freeze' function do and how do I activate it?
The Fast Freeze function lowers temperature quickly to freeze fresh food. Activate it by pressing the fast freeze button (if equipped) or turning the thermostat to the highest setting for 24 hours before adding food.
Why is the freezer making unusual noises?
Normal sounds include compressor hum, gas flow gurgle, and clicks from thermostat. If loud or sharp, check leveling, ensure rear clearance for ventilation, and that interior items are stable.
How do I clean the freezer?
Unplug the freezer, remove all food and shelves. Wash interior with mild detergent and warm water, not abrasive cleaners. Dry thoroughly before restarting. Clean door seals with a damp cloth.
What should I do if the freezer stops working?
Check power cord, fuse, and that the plug is secure. Ensure the thermostat isn't set to '0' (off). If still not cooling, contact a qualified technician.
Can I reverse the door on my Gram freezer?
Yes, the door is reversible. Refer to the manual for instructions. You'll need to unscrew hinges and transfer to opposite side. Ensure you have tools and assistance.
What is the recommended power failure duration for safe food storage?
A full freezer keeps food safe for about 48 hours if door stays closed. Partial freezer: 24 hours. Do not refreeze thawed food unless still icy.
Where can I find replacement parts for the FSI 3225-92 N?
Contact Gram customer service or authorized dealers. Use original parts for safety. Models often share parts with similar Gram freezers.
How do I interpret the energy label on this freezer?
The energy class E indicates moderate efficiency. Annual energy consumption is approx 220 kWh. Higher classes (A-G) mean more efficiency. Use in cool, ventilated places to reduce consumption.

  • The door should not be opened frequently.
  • It must be operated empty without any food in it.
  • Do not unplug your refrigerator. If a power failure occurs out of your control, please see the warnings in the “Recommended solutions for the problems” section.
  • Original packaging and foam materials should be kept for future transportations or moving.
  • The baskets/drawers that are provided with the chill compartment must always be in use for low energy consumption and for better storage conditions.
  • Food contact with the temperature sensor in the freezer compartment may increase energy consumption of the appliance. Thus any contact with the sensor(s) must be avoided.

  • In some models, the instrument panel automatically turns off 5 minutes after the door has closed. It will be reactivated when the door has opened or pressed on any key.

  • Due to temperature change as a result of opening/closing the product door during operation, condensation on the door/body shelves and the glass containers is normal

Setting the operating temperature

Warm ←● 1 2 ● 3 ● 4 ● → Cold MAX.

The operating temperature is regulated by the temperature control.

1 = Lowest cooling setting (Warmest setting)

MAX. = Highest cooling setting (Coldest setting)

Please choose the setting according to the desired temperature.

The interior temperature also depends on ambient temperature, the frequency with which the door is opened and the amount of foods kept inside.

Frequently opening the door causes the interior temperature to rise.

For this reason, it is recommended to close the door again as soon as possible after use.

The normal storage temperature of your appliance should be -18 °C (0 °F). Lower temperatures can be obtained by adjusting the thermostat knob towards Position MAX.

We recommend checking the temperature with a thermometer to ensure that the storage compartments are kept to the desired temperature. Remember to take the reading immediately since the thermometer temperature will rise very rapidly after you remove it from the freezer.

456 MIN. MAX. -88 1 2 3

LED indicators and control panel

LED indicators in the front section of your freezer are intended to help you in monitoring the operation of your appliance.

Keep your food in the freezer in a safe manner by monitoring and using these LEDs and controls as explained below:

Fast Freeze Button (4): Used to freeze the food fastly. Compressor may not operate immediately but after some time when the button is pressed and this is quite normal.

Thermostat Setting Button (5): Used to set your freezer between minimum and maximum values.

Temperature Indicator (6): Displays the inner temperature of your freezer.

Orange LED (1): Lights up when the fast freeze button on the LED panel is pressed. In this case, freezer operates continuously.

Press the button again when the food you would like to fast freeze comes to the desired temperature and the orange LED will turn off.

Green LED (2): Lights up continuously after plugging in your freezer.

Red LED (3): It warns user by lighting up continuously when there is not enough cooling in the freezer, when the door remains open for a long time and when excessive food is loaded.

If the red LED lights up continuously when the conditions stated in the adjacent column do not exist, then call our Authorized Service.

Freezing

Freezing food

You can use the appliance for freezing fresh food as well as for storing pre-frozen food.

Please refer to the recommendations given on the packaging of your food.

GRAM FSI 3225-92 N - Freezing food - 1

Attention

Do not freeze fizzy drinks, as the bottle may burst when the liquid in it is frozen.

Do not exceed the freezing capacity of your appliance in 24 hours. See the rating label.

In order to maintain the quality of the food, the freezing must be effected as rapidly as possible.

Thus, the freezing capacity will not be exceeded, and the temperature inside the freezer will not rise.

GRAM FSI 3225-92 N - Attention - 1

Attention

Keep the already deep-frozen food always separated with freshly placed food.

When deep-freezing hot food, the cooling compressor will work until the food is completely frozen. This can temporarily cause excessive cooling of the refrigeration compartment.

If you find the freezer door difficult to open just after you have closed it, don't worry. This is due to the pressure difference which will equalize and allow the door to open normally after a few minutes.

You will hear a vacuum sound just after closing the door. This is quite normal.

Making ice cubes

Fill the ice-cube tray 3/4 full with water and place it in the freezer.

As soon as the water has turned into ice, you can take out the ice cubes.

Never use sharp objects such as knives or forks to remove the ice cubes. There is a risk of injury!

Let the ice cubes slightly thaw instead, or put the bottom of the tray in hot water for a short moment.

Fast freeze

If large amounts of fresh food are going to be frozen, adjust the control knob to max. 24 hours before putting the fresh food in the fast freeze compartment.

GRAM FSI 3225-92 N - Fast freeze - 1

natural_image Line drawing of a hand inserting a tray into a refrigerator (no text or symbols)

It is strongly recommended to keep the knob at MAX. position at least 24 hours to freeze maximum amount of fresh food declared as freezing capacity. Take special care not to mix frozen food and fresh food.

When fast freeze switch is on, -27 degrees C will flash for 5 seconds on display (6). Fast-freeze operation is for freezing fresh food (see Freezing Fresh Food section).

Defrosting of the appliance

The appliance defrosts automatically.

Door Open Warning

\*May not be available in all models

An audio warning signal will be given when the door of your product is left open for at least 1 minute. This warning will be muted when the door is closed or any of the display buttons (if any) are pressed.
