Use
Make sure that the hair is completely dry and comb it well. If the hair is very long or thick, it would make it easier if you use hair clips to separate the hair.
Plug to a wall outlet and switch on the appliance by pressing the I/O button and the signal lamp of the set temperature (155°C) starts flashing. Adjust the temperature by pressing the + (or the -) button until the signal lamps flash at the wanted temperature. Select the suitable temperature depending on your type of hair and see the recommended temperatures below. If you use the appliance for the first time, we recommend that you start at the lowermost temperature setting.
155-170°C - thin, fine hair/coloured hair
185-200°C - normal hair
215-230°C - thick and very strong hair
Place the appliance on an even, heat-resistant surface during heating. When the display of the chosen temperature stops flashing, the temperature has been reached and the straightener is ready for use.
Keep the appliance at a safe distance from your skin and eyes. Use a mirror. The hair sections should not be wider than 5 cm. Put the lock of hair between the plates and press them together. Take care that your fingers do not touch the hot plates. Now pull the appliance downwards towards the ends in an even movement. To get the best result, start close to the scalp and work your way towards the ends.
NOTE! The appliance reaches very high temperatures. Make sure that the hot plates of the appliance do not touch the scalp, your face, neck or hands. Do not use the appliance for wigs, hair extensions or artificial hair without having tested the appliance on a small section of hair, as there may be a risk that the hair will melt.
Automatic switch-off
The appliance has a safety function that switches it off automatically after about 1 hour. The automatic switch-off function is an extra safety function, but as a general rule, the appliance should always be switched off by pressing the I/O button and unplugging after use.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Switch off the appliance by pressing the I/O button. Unplug the appliance and let the appliance cool completely on a heat-resistant surface before cleaning.
- Note that when using chemicals, the colour of the housing of the appliance could be damaged.
- Make sure that the appliance is out of the reach of children. The appliance reaches very high temperatures during use and consequently, it will take some time before it has cooled off completely.
- Never immerse the appliance and the cord in water or any other liquid and do not let these parts get in direct contact with water.
- Be careful that water does not penetrate into the housing!
- Wipe dry the housing and the plates of the appliance with a damp cloth. Wipe with a dry cloth.
- Do not wind the cord around the appliance.
• Make sure that the appliance is completely cool and dry before storing. - Store the appliance at a dry and safe place out of the reach of children after use.
The plate straightener has a useful locking function that makes it easy for you to bring along the appliance. Activate the locking function by pressing together the plates and push the locking button located at the cord attachment towards the closed padlock icon. To unlock, press the plates against one another and push the button towards the open padlock icon.
Do not wind the cord around the appliance as this means an extra charge with a risk of damage to the cord.
