Use
Filter
Before you switch on the appliance, the anti-scale filter cassette shall be rinsed as follows:
- Remove the water tank (A) by lifting it up from the master unit (E). Lift the anti-scale filter cassette (B) from the vapour chamber.
- Before you use the appliance for the first time, rinse the anti-scale filter cassette (B) thoroughly under running water to remove powder residues from the yellow water softening balls
Filling of water
- Position the air humidifier on an even surface, and note that the air humidifier should not be positioned on wooden surfaces or similar sensible surfaces, as they may be damaged due to humidity. Lift the water tank (A) off the master unit (E).
- Turn the water tank upside down and remove the lid. Fill up the water tank with clean tap water or distilled water (5-40°C). Change the water once a week.
- Remount the lid on the water tank. Wipe the outside of the water tank with a dry cloth.
- Remount the anti-scale filter cassette (B) in the vapour chamber and lower the water tank. A gurgling sound and water bubbles will emerge from the tank once correctly positioned in the master unit. The water in the water tank shall pass through the anti-scale filter cassette to be cleaned and softened, which takes about 2-5 minutes. When it stops bubbling, the water level in the vapour chamber is sufficient to generate vapour.
- Only lift the water tank for filling of water or if the appliance needs cleaning, since the water level in the vapour chamber might be too high.
How to start the appliance
- Plug and you will hear two beeps. The appliance is now in the standby position.
- Start the appliance by pressing the on/off switch (1). The appliance will now start in the standard position: medium air humidification capacity, activated illumination in the vapour chamber and without timer setting.
Illumination
Press the illumination button (4) to switch on and off the illumination of the vapour chamber.
Adjust the vapour temperature
Press the "cooler/warmer" button (3) to switch between warm and cold vapour. The indicator (2) in question will go on when activated.
Air humidity level and timer
- Press the SET button (8) to change from air humidity setting to timer setting and vice versa. The chosen alternative will be displayed (5, 6) as an indication. Set the air humidity level or the timer, respectively, by pressing the + (9) or the - (7) button.
- Setting of air humidity level:
- Press the SET button (8), the air humidity display (6) flashes.
- Press the + (9) and the - (7) buttons to adjust to optional level (min 30% and max 70% relative air humidity (the capacity of the air to absorb water vapour at various temperatures).
- When the air humidity level has been set, the display will revert to the actual air humidity level of the surroundings.
Attention! The air humidifier stops generating vapour once the set air humidity level has been reached. The air humidifier restarts to emit vapour when the air humidity in the closest surroundings is about 5% (relative air humidity) below the set air humidity level.
- In order to choose a continuous mode, press the + button (9) until the display shows 70% and press the + button once again. The display (11) features CO as an indication that the generation of vapour is not affected by the air humidity obtained in the room.
Setting of timer:
- Press the SET button (8) twice until H is displayed.
- Press the + (9) and the - (7) buttons to set the timer from 0-12 hours.
- The timer starts to count down. When it reaches 0, the air humidifier stops generating vapour and reverts to standby position.
- If the timer is set at 0 hours, the air humidifier works continuously.
Attention! It is quite normal that the display changes between air humidity level and timer setting.
How to change the air humidification capacity
The air humidifier has three capacity levels that can be changed by means of the + (9) and the - (7) buttons.
Low capacity: The generated vapour is up to 100 ml/h. The indicator (10) of low capacity is on.
Medium capacity: The generated vapour is up to 200 ml/h. The indicator (10) of low and medium capacity is on.
High capacity: The generated vapour is up to 300 ml/h. All indicators (10): low, medium and high are on.
Indication of low water level
When there is no water left in the water tank, the appliance switches to standby position within a few seconds. The appliance beeps 10 times and the illumination of the vapour chamber and the indicator (2) of "cooler/warmer" functions flash.
Turn off the appliance by means of the on/off switch (1). Fill water in the water tank and put it back into the master unit. Switch on the appliance by means of the on/off switch and wait for about 10 seconds. The appliance starts generating vapour.
How to turn off the appliance
Always turn off the appliance by means of the on/off switch (1) after use. If you do not unplug the appliance, all settings will be memorized for the next activation of the air humidifier. If the appliance is unplugged, all previous settings will be deleted.
Note that you cannot lift the appliance by the handles of the water tank. The appliance should be lifted by grabbing the master unit.
Remember
- This ultrasound air humidifier comprises a metal membrane that vibrates in an ultrasound frequency, thus creating drops of water that, by means of an incorporated fan, is dispersed into vapour.
- The gurgling sound is normal, because the water passes through the anti-scale filter cassette of the vapour chamber.
- The intensity of the vapour is affected by the relative humidity and the room temperature. It is more difficult to generate vapour if the surroundings are cold and humid because the evaporation process takes more time.
- The water in the water tank shall be between 4 and 50°C and it shall be clean tap water or distilled water.
- If the local water is mineral-bearing (hard water) this may cause white residues on the appliance and on near-by surfaces round the appliance. So this does not mean that the appliance is defective, but that the tap water is mineral-bearing.
Cleaning and maintenance
Switch off the appliance and unplug prior to cleaning. Clean the water tank and the vapour chamber once a week.
Cleaning of the anti-scale filter cassette: The anti-scale filter cassette (B) consists of a plastic lid with lock, a non-woven filter, and yellow, transparent water softening balls.
The yellow, transparent balls reduce the amount of calcium and to a certain degree manganese and iron in hard water.
The anti-scale filter cassette should be cleaned once a week depending on the water quality. Rather clean too often than too seldom.
Lift off the water tank (A). Remove the anti-scale filter cassette from the vapour chamber and pour out remaining water from the anti-scale filter cassette. Rinse the anti-scale filter cassette under running water to make the water pass through the entire anti-scale filter cassette.
Replace the anti-scale filter cassette once a year (can be ordered with OBH Nordica 08-445 79 00).
Cleaning of the water tank: unscrew the lid and pour out water from the water tank (A). Rinse the water tank and its lid with water.
Cleaning of the vapour chamber: The vapour chamber should be cleaned once a week. Lift off the water tank (A) and the anti-scale filter cassette (B). Hold the appliance over the sink or similar, remove the plug (13) at the bottom of the vapour chamber and empty remaining water from the vapour chamber. Clean the cabinet of the vapour chamber and the membrane behind the clean-out door (15) with the delivered brush (17) and wipe with a damp cloth.
Cleaning of the master unit: Wipe the master unit (E) with a cloth dampened with warm water. Rub off possible scale residues with a soft cloth. Lift off the vapour mouthpiece (C) by lifting it straight upwards from the master unit. Rinse the vapour mouthpiece under running water, wipe and remount it.
Be careful not to immerse the entire appliance or the cord in water. Never use any kind of detergent when cleaning.
Storing
Store the appliance in dry conditions. If you will not use the appliance for a long period of time, clean the appliance in accordance with former instructions and make sure that all parts are dry before storing the appliance.
