Frequently Asked Questions - 16230026 Melissa

How do I assemble the juicer before use?
Place the motor unit on a flat surface. Attach the base, then push the fruit pulp holder under the drain edge. Lock the centrifuge bowl onto the base. Place the lid and turn the lock mechanism to the vertical position until it clicks. Finally, place the juice jug under the spout.
What is the maximum continuous usage time?
Do not let the appliance run for more than 2 minutes at a time. After 2 minutes, allow it to cool down for 2 minutes before using again.
Can I clean the motor section in water?
No, never submerge the motor section, cord, or plug in water. Clean it only with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent if needed.
Which parts are dishwasher safe?
The centrifuge bowl, fruit pulp holder, base, lid, tamper, and juice jug are all dishwasher safe. However, be careful of the sharp blades in the centrifuge bowl.
Why does the lid not lock properly?
Ensure the lid sits tightly on the base and that the lock mechanism is turned to the vertical position. You should hear a clicking sound when it engages correctly.
Can I juice bananas or avocados with this appliance?
No, bananas, mangoes, papayas, and avocados are not suitable because they produce mashed fruit instead of juice due to their firm, fibrous flesh.
How do I prevent apple juice from turning brown?
Serve apple juice immediately after juicing, or add a little lemon juice to slow down oxidation. Fresh juice loses nutrients and taste quickly when exposed to air.
What should I do if the appliance stops working?
First, check that the plug is properly inserted and the outlet is working. If the appliance overheated, allow it to cool down. If the problem persists, contact the store or Adexi consumer services (www.adexi.eu).
How should I store the juicer?
Ensure all parts are clean and completely dry. Store in a clean, dry place, preferably in its box. Do not place heavy objects on top, and never twist or wind the cord around the appliance.
What fruits and vegetables can I juice?
Soft fruits (oranges, lemons, tomatoes) use low speed; hard vegetables (carrots, apples, celery) use high speed. Always peel thick-skinned citrus and remove large stones. Leafy greens like spinach can be rolled and juiced.

  1. Make sure that the centrifuge bowl sits properly on its base, so that the gear on the bottom of the bowl engages the gear in the base.
  2. Make sure that the centrifuge bowl doesn't sit too loosely on the base and that it rotates evenly.
  3. Place the lid (2) on the appliance so that it covers both the fruit pulp holder and the centrifuge bowl unit. Make sure that the lid fits tightly onto the base.
  4. Turn the lock mechanism (5) to the vertical position and make sure that it engages the lid and locks it fast. The lock mechanism makes a clicking sound when this is done correctly.
  5. Place the juicer jug (8) under the spout.
  6. Plug in and switch on the power.

Preparing fruits and vegetables

• Always wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before juicing.
- It is not necessary to remove seeds, pits or thin peels before using the appliance.
- The juice presser can press whole fruits, e.g. apples and pears, but it is a good idea to slice them into smaller pieces to ensure that they are rotten or have insects etc. in the core.
- Fruits with thick peels such as oranges and lemons must be peeled before juicing. It is particularly important to remove all the peel (including the pith), as even small amounts of peel can impart an unpleasant taste to the juice.
- It is also necessary to remove large stones such as plum and apricot stones before juicing to avoid damaging the appliance.
- Large fruits and vegetables should be cut into smaller pieces that fit into the funnel.

Use

  1. Start the appliance by turning the on/off button to position "I" (low speed) or position "II" (high speed).
  2. The low speed setting is suitable for juicing soft fruits and vegetables.
  3. The high speed setting is suitable for juicing harder fruits and vegetables.
  4. Feed the selected fruits and/or vegetables into the appliance through the funnel a little at a time, pushing them down using the tamper (1).

a. Make sure that you turn the tamper so that the groove in the tamper fits into the funnel properly.
b. Long vegetables such as carrots should be fed into the funnel pointy end first.
c. Press the fruits and/or vegetables gently with the funnel. Too much pressure reduces the amount of juice extracted and can damage the appliance.
d. Stop the appliance before removing the tamper to add more fruit/vegetables in order to avoid to avoid splashes.

  1. Keep an eye on the fruit pulp holder and stop juicing before the holder becomes too full.
  2. Always turn off the power by turning the On/Off button to "0" position before taking off the lid.
  3. Please note: Do not leave the appliance running for more than 2 minutes at a time. If the appliance has been running for more than 2 minutes, leave it to cool down before you use it again.

TIP

  • If you line the fruit pulp holder with a plastic bag before using the appliance, it will be easier to clean the appliance.
  • Use fresh fruits and vegetables – they contain more juice than frozen.
  • Good candidates for juicing include pineapple, apples, cucumbers, celery, carrots, spinach, melons, tomatoes and most citrus fruits.
  • The various varieties of apple yield juice with different flavours and consistency. Experiment with different combinations to find your own favourite.
  • Leafy green vegetables such as cabbage and spinach can also be juiced. Roll the leaves into cylinders of an appropriate size before feeding them into the funnel.
  • Fibrous fruits with very firm flesh such as bananas, mangoes, papayas and avocados are not suitable for juicing, as the result is often mashed fruit instead of juice.
  • All types of juice should be consumed right after juicing, as fresh juice quickly looses important nutrients as well as taste when exposed to the oxygen in the air.
  • Pure apple juice turns brown quickly when exposed to air. To prevent discoloration, serve apple juice immediately after juicing or add a little lemon juice.
  • Remember that fruit pulp need not be thrown away. It can often be used as filling in carrot cakes, vegetable lasagne, muffins etc.

After use

- Always turn off the appliance using the on/off button, and unplug it, when you are finished with it.

- Dissemble the appliance and clean all parts before storing. See "Cleaning".
