What type of pads can I use with the OS6010 polisher?

The OS6010 uses hook-and-loop (Velcro) backing pads of 180 mm diameter. You can use foam, wool, or microfiber pads designed for 7-inch hook-and-loop systems.

How do I adjust the speed on the polisher?

Turn the speed dial on the rear of the tool. There are 6 numbered positions, with 1 being the slowest (approx. 1500 rpm) and 6 the fastest (approx. 3000 rpm). Adjust while the tool is running for optimal control.

Can I use the polisher for wet sanding?

No, the OS6010 is designed for dry polishing only. Using water or other liquids may damage the tool and pose an electrical hazard. Always use dry polishing techniques.

What is the correct way to change the backing plate?

First, unplug the polisher. Press and hold the spindle lock button near the gear housing. While holding, rotate the backing plate counterclockwise to remove. Install the new plate by threading clockwise, then release the spindle lock.

Why does my polisher vibrate excessively?

Excessive vibration may be caused by a worn or unbalanced pad, a damaged backing plate, or a bent spindle. Inspect and replace the pad or backing plate if needed. Also ensure the pad is properly centered. If vibration persists, contact service.

How often should I replace the carbon brushes?

Check carbon brushes after every 50-100 hours of use. Replace them when they are shorter than 6 mm. Use only genuine Blaupunkt replacement brushes to maintain performance and safety.

Is the OS6010 suitable for polishing cars?

Yes, the OS6010 is ideal for automotive paint correction and polishing. Use appropriate pads and polish compounds. Start with a low speed to spread product, then increase speed for cutting or finishing.

What safety precautions should I take while using the polisher?

Always wear eye protection and a dust mask. Keep the cord away from rotating parts. Do not force the tool. Use both hands to maintain control. Disconnect power before changing accessories or cleaning.

Can I use extension cords?

Yes, but use a heavy-duty extension cord rated for at least 15 amps and no longer than 30 m. Ensure the cord is fully unwound to avoid overheating. Do not use damaged cords.

What does the 'lock-on' switch do?

The lock-on switch allows continuous operation without holding the trigger. Press the trigger, then press the lock button on the side. To release, squeeze and release the trigger. Use only when the tool is held securely.

• This device is for domestic use only. Do not use for any other purposes.
• The device should only be connected to an socket with values corresponding to the values on the rating label.
• It is necessary to check, if total current consumption of all devices plugged into the wall outlet does not exceed the fuse in the circuit.
• If you are using an extension cord, make sure that the total power consumption of the equipment plugged into the extension cord does not exceed the extension cord power rating. Extension cords should be arranged in such a way as to avoid tripping hazards.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of counter, or touch any hot surface.
• The device is not designed to be controlled via an external timer, separate remote control, or other equipment that can turn the device on automatically.
• Before maintenance work always disconnect the unit from the power supply.
• When unplugging the power cord from electrical outlet, hold it by the plug only and remove the plug carefully. Never pull the cable as it may cause damage to the plug or power cord. Damage to the power cord or plug can lead to an electrocution hazard.
• Never leave the product connected to the power source

without supervision.

- The device should be cleaned regularly complying with the recommendations described in the section on cleaning and maintenance.

The instruction manual should be used as a reference for the safe use of this equipment. Children should not play with the equipment. Children without ensured supervision should not be allowed to perform the cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

• Additional precautions should be taken when using this device in the presence of children or pets. Do not allow children to play with the device.

- Never use the product close to combustibles.

- Never expose the product to atmospheric conditions such as direct sun light or rain, etc... Never use the product in humid conditions (like bathroom or camping house).

- The power cable should be periodically checked for damage. If the power cable is damaged the product should be taken to a professional service location to be fixed or replaced to prevent any hazards from arising.

- Never use the product with a damaged power cable or if it was dropped or damaged in any other way or if it does not work properly. Do not try to repair the defected product by yourself as it can lead to electric shock. Always return the damaged device to a professional service in order to repair it.

All the repairs should only be performed by authorized service professionals. Any attempted unauthorised repairs performed can be a hazard to the user.

- Only Original accessories should be used, as well as accessories recommended by the manufacturer. Using accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer may result in damage of the device and may render the device unsafe for use.

PREPARATION FOR USE

Follow the steps below to prepare your unit:

1. Install the selected grinder base by screwing it to the device according to the instructions in the diagram.

2. Fit the dust container, mount the container adapter in the dust container port and turn counter clockwise. Make sure that the container is properly mounted.

3. Place the appropriate sandpaper on the grinding plate, the sanding sheet is equipped with Velcro and eyelets. This allows a new pad to be applied quickly without the need for a tensioning system. Clean the grinding plate before applying a new sanding sheet on it. Spread the sandpaper over the grinding plate and make sure the holes in the plate and the disc match.

SELECTION OF SANDING PAPER

• Always use the correct sanding paper for the material you want to sand.
• Depending on the grain size, there are degrees of roughness. The thickness is determined by the number on the back of the paper. The higher the number, the finer the grain.
• It is important to use the right paper for the surface. For coarse sanding, use grits up to 80; for soft woods such as larch, pine or spruce, use a grit size of 60 to 150. For dense hardwoods such as beech or maple, grit sizes up to 220 can be used.

OPERATION

CAUTION: Before starting the appliance for the first time, read the warnings at the beginning of this Operating Instructions.

1. Position the entire grinding surface on the workpiece.
2. Connect the plug to an electrical outlet, start the unit using the trigger button.
3. Run the machine along the surface to be sanded in a circular motion. No additional pressure should be applied to the machine when sanding, the weight of the machine itself is usually sufficient to ensure optimum speed and good results.
4. Use the speed control knob to adjust the speed to the type of surface to be sanded.
5. Use the trigger button lock to switch to continuous mode.
6. When you have finished working, switch off the unit.

Clean the unit with a damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents. Do not immerse the device in water. Do not clean the unit with water from a hose or a pressurised water jet. Switch off the machine before cleaning.
