Frequently Asked Questions - SWS 212 SENCOR
How do I set up the SENCOR SWS 212 weather station?
Insert 2 AAA batteries into the main unit and 2 AAA batteries into the outdoor sensor. Place the sensor within 100m range (open area). The main unit will automatically start searching for the DCF radio signal and the sensor signal.
Why is the outdoor temperature not showing?
Check that the outdoor sensor has fresh batteries and is within range (max 100m in open area). Ensure there are no obstacles (walls, metal) blocking the signal. Press the CHANNEL button to re-sync.
How does the DCF radio clock work?
The DCF signal is transmitted from Frankfurt, Germany. The main unit automatically synchronizes the time after battery insertion or manually via a button. The signal icon will flash during reception and stay solid when synchronized.
What if the DCF signal is weak?
Place the main unit near a window, away from electronic devices. The signal is strongest at night. You can manually set the time if the signal cannot be received.
How to change the batteries without losing settings?
The main unit has a backup battery (internal) that retains time and alarm settings for a short time. However, it's recommended to replace batteries quickly and re-synchronize if necessary.
What temperature units are available?
You can switch between °C and °F by pressing the °C/°F button on the back of the main unit.
How do I set the alarm?
Press and hold the ALARM button until the hour digits flash. Use the +/- buttons to adjust, press ALARM again to set minutes. Press ALARM to confirm. Press ALARM once to view or enable/disable the alarm.
What is the accuracy of the thermometer?
Indoor temperature accuracy is ±1°C, outdoor ±1.5°C. Humidity accuracy is ±5% RH.
Can I add more outdoor sensors?
The SWS 212 supports up to 3 outdoor sensors. Each sensor must be set to a different channel (CH1, CH2, CH3) using a switch inside the sensor battery compartment.
How to clean the weather station?
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the main unit and sensor. Do not use any solvents or abrasive cleaners. Avoid getting moisture into the sensors.
