How do I clean the Eta James beard trimmer?

Remove the cutting head and rinse it under running water. Use the included cleaning brush to remove hair clippings from the blades. Dry thoroughly before reassembling.

How do I adjust the cutting length?

The trimmer has an adjustable comb that slides to set the cutting length between 0.5 and 10 mm. Alternatively, use one of the 4 included guide combs for precise lengths.

How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?

The lithium-ion battery provides up to 60 minutes of runtime after a full charge of about 90 minutes. Use the included USB cable to charge from any USB port.

Can I use the trimmer while it's charging?

No, for safety reasons, do not use the trimmer while it is connected to the charger. Use it only as a cordless device.

Is the Eta James beard trimmer waterproof?

It is splash resistant (IPX5) and can be washed under a tap, but do not immerse in water. Always detach the cutting head before rinsing.

How do I replace the blades?

Press the release button to remove the cutting head. Unscrew the old blade and attach a new one of the same type. Replacement blades are available from the manufacturer or authorized dealers.

What does the lock button do?

The lock button prevents accidental activation during travel or storage. Press the lock button to lock the on/off switch; press again to unlock.

How often should I lubricate the blades?

It is recommended to lubricate the blades with a drop of oil (not included) after every few uses to maintain performance. Wipe off excess oil before use.

What is the warranty period for the Eta James trimmer?

The standard warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase. Keep your receipt for warranty claims. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, not normal wear.

Can the trimmer be used for grooming other body hair?

Dear customer, thank you for purchasing our product. Please read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep these instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing

I. SAFETY WARNING

- Before the first use, read the instructions for use carefully, look at the picture and keep the instructions for use.

- Check whether the data on the type label correspond with the voltage in your socket.

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

- Before replacing accessories or accessible parts, which move during operation, before assembly and disassembly, before cleaning or maintenance, turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains by pulling the charger from the power socket!

- Never use the appliance if the USB power cable or adapter is damaged, if it does not work properly, if it fell to the ground and got damaged. In this case take the appliance to a special service to check its safety and proper function.

- For additional protection we recommend installation of current protection (RCD) with the nominal release current not exceeding 30 mA. Ask a control technician or an electrician for advice.

- Do not leave the iron plugged in power supply without supervision!

- The trimmer with the plugged adapter must not be used at places where it could fall into a bath tub, a wash basin or a swimming pool. If the trimmer fell to water anyway, do not take it out! First of all, unplug the adapter from the socket and only then remove the trimmer. In this case take the appliance to a special service to check its safety and proper function.

- Always unplug the appliance from charger if you leave it unattended or before cleaning.

- The appliance is intended for use in households only and for similar use! It is not designed for use in hair salons or for other commercial use!

- Do not put or take out the plug to or from a socket with wet hands!

- Never immerse the appliance or the adaptor in water or other liquids (not even partly) and never wash in running water!

- Use only the accessories designed for this type. Do not use damaged adapters.

- Never tuck the appliance or the accessories into any body holes.

- Be careful in using the appliance without a set adapter, the blades are sharp.

- Do not use the appliance while having a bath, having a shower or taking a sauna and for trimming wet or artificial hair.

- The appliance is not intended for operation with an exterior time switch or separate remote control system.

- The appliance is not intended for styling animal hairs.

- Never charge the appliance in direct sunlight or close to heat sources and if the temperature is below 10^ or above 40^ . If the appliance is fully loaded, unplug the charging device.

– In case the cutting lath gets blocked, the appliance must be turned off immediately and the cause removed.

- The appliance gets hot when charging which is absolutely normal.

- Charge the battery in temperature close to room temperature.

- Do not dispose the battery into fire. There is a risk of explosion!

- Do not charge a battery which is leaking electrolyte.

- Do not expose the battery to temperatures higher than 50^ to prevent damaging the battery.

- Do not put the trimmer on hot heat sources (e. g. oven, stove, radiator, etc.)

- Also, do not put the trimmer in the on position on soft surfaces (e.g. bed, towels, sheets, carpet); the surfaces or the appliance could get damaged.

- The power cord of the adapter must not be damaged with sharp or hot objects, open fire and it must not be sunk into water.

- The cable supplied with this appliance is intended for this appliance only, do not use it for other purposes. Also, use only the supplied cable with this appliance, do not use any other cable for charging (e.g. from another appliance).

- Never use the appliance for any other purpose than for the intended purpose described in these instructions for use!

- The producer is not responsible for any loss caused by improper handling of the appliance and its accessories (e. g. injury, appliance damage, fire, etc.) and its guarantee for the appliance does not apply in the case of non-compliance with the safety instructions above.

II. DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE AND ITS ACCESSORIES (fig. 1)

III. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before you can use the appliance, its batteries must be charged. The operation time for one charge depends on the attachment used and workload. Attachment is around 90 minutes.

Charging adapter

The appliance has no charging source of its own, it is only designed for charging via USB (an adapter with USB output, with output voltage of 5.0 V, and output current of at least 1000 mA). Before making any connection, please pay attention to instructions of the manufacturer of the respective power source..

To Charge/Recharge

– Fully charge Clipper before using for the first time or after non-use for a long period of time.
- Battery performance is best if you recharge only when the battery is (almost) completely empty.
- Charging or recharging at temperatures below 10^ or higher than 40^ adversely affects lifespan of the battery.
- Continuously recharging Clipper will reduce lifespan of battery.

1) Be certain Clipper is OFF.
2) Connect the trimmer to the adapter and plug the adapter to the mains.
3) It will take approximately 2 hours to fully charge the Clipper. Do not exceed the set time of charging!
4) After charging, unplug the adaptor from the mains first and only then unplug the connector from the appliance.

Optimize the working life of the battery

• Do not charge for more than 2 hours.
• Do not keep cord permanently plugged in.

Use

The trimmer can be used without the adapter (for cutting contours) or with the selected adapter BA or BB according to the required cut length. Mount the attachment to the trimmer head so that the fits properly.

Beard clipping

• The trimmer turns on and off with a switch A3. Turn the trimmer on only after all the attachments have been properly placed and you are ready for trimming. Turn the trimmer off immediately after use.
• We recommend oiling the blades with the oil C attached before first use.
  —Only use the clipper on dry beard and hair.
• Do not use on freshly washed hair.
  – Before you begin, comb the hair in the direction of growth.
• To achieve optimal clipping results, always move the clipper slowly through the hair against the direction of hair or beard growth.
• In case an blades A1 gets blocked, the appliance must be turned off immediately and the cause of the block removed.

You may use 2 kinds (BA / BB) of comb attachments for trimming

1) Remove the hair comb (if it is attached). Be careful when you are clipping without comb attachment as when the clipper is turned on it will trim every hair or beard it touches.
2) Tilt the clipper in such a way that only one edge of the trimming attachment touches the beard or hair ends when you shape the contours.
3) Mark a facial beard line with the trimmer and cut off the beard exceeding this line from the outer perimeter
4) Put on the desired comb attachment (BA / BB). Then you can turn on the appliance.
5) If you are trimming for the first time, begin by trimming with an attachment of max. length BB to prevent too short of a cut. When you have familiarized yourself with the settings, use attachments BA with lower length.
6) Make sure that the flat part of the comb is always in full contact with the scalp to obtain an even result.
7) Move the clipper slowly over the crown from different directions to achieve an even result.
8) Always move the clipper against the direction of hair or beard growth.
9) Make overlapping passes over all areas to ensure that all hair and beard that should be cut has been cut.
10) Turn the Clipper off and remove the hair comb often to blow and/or shake out hair that has accumulated.
11) After trimming shave the parts around the beard in a usual way.

Trimming a mustache

Trim carefully over a brush to achieve an even cut of the mustache. If you prefer using your finger as a guide, proceed accordingly.

IV. MAINTENANCE

Do not use rough and aggressive detergents! Wipe the trimmer surface with a wet soft cloth.

Cleaning blades (fig. 2)

Clean the blades with the brush attached. For thorough cleaning, the entire trimming head A1 can be removed. With your thumb, push the A1 blades and remove the trimming head (fig. 2a) in the direction of the arrow. When you want to re-attach it (fig. 2c), put the plastic projection in the rear part of the trimming head into the opening in the trimmer and re-attach the trimming head (snap it in). In order to keep the trimmer in a perfect condition, you have to lubricate the list with blades using one or two drops of oil for sewing machines (fig. 2d). Do not use hair oil, petroleum jelly or oil mixed with petrol or any other solvent because after evaporation the solid parts of the lubricant could slow down operation of the blades. Insert the trimming head to the trimmer properly, turn on the trimmer and then turn it off and wipe out the excessive oil from the blades.

Storage

Put the trimmer with the accessories back to the original package at a dry and dust free place, out of reach of children and incapacitated people.

V. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

If the dimensions allow, there are marks of materials used for production of packing, components and accessories as well as their recycling on all parts. The symbols specified on the product or in the accompanying documentation mean that the used electrical or electronic products must not be disposed of together with municipal waste. For proper disposal, hand them over at the special collection places where they will be received free of charge. Suitable disposal of the product can help to maintain valuable natural resources and to prevent possible negative impacts on the environment and human health, which could be the possible consequences of improper waste disposal. Ask for more details at the local authorities or at a collection site. Fines can be afflicted for improper disposal of this type of waste in agreement with the national regulations. The appliance is equipped with rechargeable Li-ion batteries with long life (fig. 3). Dispose of the batteries in a suitable and safe way through the special collection networks. Never dispose of the batteries by burning!

Guarantee of 24 months does not apply to decrease in the accumulator's effective capacity caused by its use or age. Effective capacity gradually decreases depending on the method of use of the accumulator.
