How do I reset the D400 Pro?

During Bluetooth input, long-press the middle button of the knob to reset only Bluetooth pairing. During other inputs, long-press the middle button to clear all settings (including Bluetooth).

What are the supported audio formats?

USB and I²S: PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz, DSD up to 22.5792MHz (DSD512). Optical/Coaxial: PCM up to 192kHz. Bluetooth: LDAC (24-bit/96kHz), aptX HD, aptX, SBC, AAC.

Can I use the D400 Pro with a computer?

Yes. For Windows, you need to install a driver. For Mac OS X 10.6 or later and Linux, it works without a driver (USB class compliant).

How do I set the output volume to fixed or variable?

In the menu, under PRE MODE, select VARIABLE for controlled volume or FIXED for fixed output volume. The FIXED option sets output to about 3.7 Vrms.

What is the I²S mode and how do I configure it?

I²S mode matches different interface standards. In the menu, under I²S MODE, choose NORMAL or REVERSED based on the pinout of your signal source. Check the source's interface definition.

How do I adjust the screen brightness or auto-off timer?

Go to DIMMER to set auto-off time (5-60 seconds) and BRIGHTNESS to adjust brightness (1-99%). The screen will dim after the set time and re-light on any operation.

What is the warranty policy?

Bluetooth operating instructions\*\*

Connection:

Switch the input source to Bluetooth, turn on the Bluetooth function of the phone, search for "SMSL D400", click Pair Connection after searching, and when the phone shows "Connected", the connection is successful.

Re-connection:

During the use of Bluetooth, if the connection is lost, eg: going out, and then coming back, some phones will not automatically reconnect, at this time, a short press of the Bluetooth button on the remote control can reconnect.

Clear pairing:

Press and hold the Bluetooth Control button on the remote control. After clearing the pairing, some phones may no longer be able to search for "SMSL D400", in which case you need to delete the Bluetooth device "SMSL D400" saved by the phone and then search for pairing.

PCM FILTER

PRE MODE is the volume adjustment function switch for the output.

• VARIABLE : The output volume is controlled.
• FIXED : The output connector volume is fixed.

Open the DSD direct access function. At this time, the volume of PCM or DSD is not adjusted. The output amplitude is fixed to about 3.7VRMS. When this function is opened, the DSD is not processed at all, and the output is directly output.

Note: When using the I²S input to streaming DSD audio, if you find that the left and right channels are incorrect, you can use this option to correct it.

How to play MQA

■ D400 supports MQA decoding with USB, optical fiber and coaxial!
- D400's MQA playback does not require the use of special playback software, such as foobar2000, Audirvanaplus only needs to support ASIO or WASAPI audio output, and when playing MQA audio, it is best to adjust the volume of the computer to the maximum, so that the audio output of the computer is in the best condition.
- When playing an MQA file, the sampling rate of the original master recording is displayed.
