Frequently Asked Questions - HGNVK49004 iGET

How do I set up the system for the first time?
Install antennas on both cameras and NVR, plug the NVR into power using the 12V 2A adapter, press the screen on/off button on the back, then plug each camera into power using their 12V 1A adapters. Within seconds, camera images should appear on the monitor. Plug the included mouse into a USB port to navigate the system.
Can I record videos without a hard drive?
No, the NVR requires a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive to record. If your kit did not include one, you need to install a compatible HDD into the compartment on the back of the NVR.
How do I change the default password?
Right-click the mouse, go to System Setup > System Admin > User Management, then set a new password. It is recommended to change it immediately for privacy.
Why is the NVR screen not displaying anything?
Check that the NVR is connected to power and press the screen on/off button on the back panel. If still blank, ensure the power adapter is working.
How can I view my cameras remotely on my smartphone?
First, connect the NVR to the internet via Ethernet cable and ensure DHCP is enabled in Network Setup. Then download the Homeguardlink app from App Store or Google Play, register an account, and add the device using its Device ID (found in NVR Network Setup or bottom right corner of screen).
What should I do if the app shows buttons that don't work?
The app supports multiple models, so some features may not be available for your specific kit. This is normal; only functions that your hardware supports will be active.
How do I set up motion-activated recording?
Right-click and go to System Setup > Record Setup > Record Plan. For each channel, uncheck Time and check Motion. The channel will then record only when movement is detected.
Can I back up recorded videos?
Yes, insert a USB flash drive into the NVR, right-click and choose Video backup. Select the channel, time period, and specific clips, then click Backup.
What is the default IP address for the NVR?
The NVR obtains an IP address via DHCP automatically when connected to a router. You can find it in System Setup > Network Setup. It typically starts with 192.168.x.x.
Does the system need internet to work?
No, the NVR can operate without internet for local viewing and recording. Internet is only required for remote access via the app or PC.
