PART 1: IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ CAREFULLY AND STORE FOR FUTURE USE.

■ This appliance may be used by children 8 years of age and older and by persons with physical or mental impairments or by inexperienced persons, if they are properly supervised or have been informed about how to use the product in a safe manner and understand the potential dangers. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are older than 8 years of age and under supervision. Keep this appliance and the power cord out of reach of children that are younger than 8 years of age. Children must not play with the appliance.

■ Before connecting the kettle to a power socket check that the nominal voltage matches the electrical voltage in the socket.
■ Connect the kettle only to a properly grounded socket.
■ The kettle is designed for domestic use and similar places such as:

  • staff kitchens in stores, offices and other workplaces;
  • agricultural farms;
    – hotel or motel rooms and other living areas;
  • bed and breakfast establishments.

■ Do not place the kettle on window sills, kitchen sink drainboards or unstable surfaces. Always place it on a stable, even and dry surface.
■ Do not place the kettle on equipment or devices that are sources of heat.
■ Never use the kettle in the near vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming pool.
■ Do not wash the kettle or its base under running water and do not submerge it or its base in water or another liquid.
■ Only use the kettle with the base that was supplied with it.
■ Use the kettle exclusively for boiling drinking water. Do not use it to heat other liquids or foodstuffs.
■ Always take the kettle off the base before filling it.

■ When filling the kettle, make sure that the water level covers at least the minimum mark and also that it does no go over the maximum mark. If the kettle is overfilled, then boiling water could splash out.
■ Take care not to spill water on to the connector when placing the kettle on to the base and when taking it off the base.
■ Check that the lid is securely closed before starting the kettle. Do not open the lid or handle it in any way while the water is boiling.
■ The surface of the heating element and kettle body remains hot after use due to residual heat. Do not touch the hot surface. Use the handle for lifting and carrying the kettle.
■ Be especially careful when pouring water out of the kettle to avoid scalding by the boiling water or steam.
■ Always disconnect the kettle from the power socket when leaving it without supervision, when not using it and before moving or cleaning it.
■ Clean it according to the instructions in chapter Cleaning and maintenance.

■ Disconnect the kettle from the power socket by pulling on the plug, never pull on the power cord. Otherwise, this could damage the power cord or the socket.
■ If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced at a professional service centre. It is forbidden to use the kettle if it has a damaged power cord.
■ To avoid the danger of injury by electrical shock, do not repair the kettle yourself or make any adjustments to it. Have all repairs performed at an authorised service centre. By tampering with the appliance, you risk voiding your legal rights arising from unsatisfactory performance or quality warranty.

PART 3: BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRSR TIME

IMPORTANT:

Please read the instructions carefully before use.

• Completely unroll the cable.
- Throw away the first lot of water after boiling.
- Remove all packing material and stickers.

PART 4: BOILNG WATER

  • Open the lid.
    • Fill the jug kettle.
    • This can be done with the lid or via the large spout.
    • Completely unroll the cable.
    • Put the cordless model on its base.
    • Plug in the mains plug.

WARNING:

Appliance becomes hot during use.

  • Switch on the jug kettle.
    • The indicator lamp comes on.
  • When the water boils, the appliance switch off automatically.
    • Water can be poured out with the lid on.
    • The cordless model can easily be removed from its base.
  • The base remains near the socket. After use, the jug kettle should be replaced on its base at once, and it is immediately for use again.
    • Heating can be stopped at any time by operating the switch.
  • The kettle does not shut off automatically if the boiling point is not reached or the kettle does not start to overheat.

PART 5: USING YOUR KETTLE

• The appliance is only suitable for heating and boiling water.
- Do not use any other liquids; The heating element must be covered with water ("0.5 l" or above on gauge); Otherwise there is danger of overheating.
- Should the boil-dry protection operate, allow the jug kettle to cool down. The appliance will be ready for use automatically.
• The water gauge will show you how much water you have put in the jug.

PART 6: CLEANING

• Before cleaning unplug the appliance.
- Allow it to cool down.
• Wipe it inside and out with a soft cloth.
• Descale your jug kettle weekly.
• Cover the heating elements with vinegar and water (2/3 water, 1/3 vinegar).
- Boil up the solution two or three times, Take care that it does not over.
- Rinse out the appliance and wipe with a soft cloth.
