How do I fill the water tank?

Open the water inlet cap, tilt the iron, and fill with tap or distilled water up to the max level. Do not exceed the MAX mark.

Can I use tap water?

Yes, but to reduce scale buildup, it's recommended to mix tap water with distilled water or use distilled water exclusively in hard water areas.

What does the anti-drip system do?

The anti-drip system prevents water from dripping onto clothes when the iron is not hot enough, by automatically blocking steam until the correct temperature is reached.

How do I use the steam boost?

Press the steam boost button located on the handle for a powerful burst of steam to remove stubborn wrinkles. Use vertically for hanging garments.

Why is my iron not producing steam?

Ensure the water tank is filled and the iron is set to a high temperature (cotton/linen). Wait for the temperature ready light to go out. If still no steam, perform the self-clean function.

How often should I clean the iron?

Perform the self-clean function every 10 uses or once a month. This flushes out mineral deposits from the steam chamber.

What is the self-clean procedure?

Fill the tank to max, set iron to max temperature, unplug, hold over sink, press and hold the self-clean button. Steam and water will flush out impurities.

Can I leave the iron unattended?

No. The iron has an auto shut-off feature that turns it off after 8 minutes of inactivity when standing upright, or after 30 seconds if placed on its soleplate. However, always unplug after use.

What type of soleplate does it have?

The Maestro IM3140 has a stainless steel soleplate, which glides smoothly over all fabrics and is resistant to scratches.

How do I store the iron?

Allow the iron to cool completely, empty the water tank, and store it upright on its heel. Avoid wrapping the cord tightly around the iron.
