Frequently Asked Questions - FZR 3004-B Fieldmann

How do I start the Fieldmann FZR 3004-B lawn mower?
Connect the power cord to a suitable extension cord, then press and hold the safety switch on the handle while pulling the start lever towards the handle. Release the safety switch once the motor runs.
What type of extension cord should I use?
Use an outdoor-rated extension cord with a minimum wire gauge of 14 AWG (2.5 mm²) and a length not exceeding 30 meters. Ensure the cord is rated for the power input (1000 W).
How do I adjust the cutting height?
The mower features a central lever adjustment. Stop the motor and pull the lever to select one of five positions (25-70 mm). Release the lever to lock the selected height.
Why does the mower stop suddenly?
The mower has an overload protection feature. If the grass is too tall or the collector is full, the motor may cut off. Let the motor cool for a few minutes, empty the collector, and restart. Also check for blockages under the deck.
How do I clean the mower after use?
Disconnect the power cord. Use a brush or damp cloth to remove grass clippings from the deck, underside, and grass collector. Do not use a pressure washer or immerse in water.
Can I mulch with this mower?
The FZR 3004-B is primarily designed for rear bagging. However, you can purchase a mulch plug (optional accessory) to convert it into a mulching mower. Check with Fieldmann for compatibility.
How often should I sharpen or replace the blade?
Sharpen the blade at least once per season or after 20 hours of use. Replace the blade if it is bent, worn, or damaged. Always use original Fieldmann blades (part number: FZR 3004-B blade).
What should I do if the grass collector doesn't fill properly?
Check if the collector is properly attached and not blocked. Also ensure the mower deck is clean and the flap is open. Avoid cutting wet grass, which can clog the chute.
Is the mower suitable for steep slopes?
The mower is designed for flat to gently sloping terrain (max slope angle 15°). Do not use on steep slopes as it may pose a safety risk and reduce cutting performance.
Where can I find the serial number on my mower?
The serial number is located on the product label attached to the motor housing or the rear of the mower. It is required for warranty claims and spare part orders.

Whenever the machine is to be handled, transported or tilted you must:

- wear strong working gloves;

– grasp the machine at the points that offer a safe grip, taking account of the weight and its distribution

CLEANING

* Carefully clean the machines with water after each cut; remove the grass debris and mud accumulated inside the chassis to avoid their drying and thus making the next start-up difficult.
The paintwork on the inside of the chassis may peel off in time due to the abrasive action of the cut grass; in this case, intervene promptly by touching up the paintwork using a rustproof paint to prevent the formation of rust that would lead to corrosion of the metal.
Remove the transmission casing by removing the screws and clean around the transmission and drive belts with a brush or compressed air once or twice a year.
Once every season, the drive wheels should be cleaned internally. Remove both wheels. Clean the gear wheel and the wheel gear rim of grass and dirt using a brush or air compressor.

CHANGING BLADES (see pic. 6)

To replace the blade, undo the screw. Empty the oil tank before removing the blade.

Reinstall as illustrated. Tighten the screw properly. Tightening torque 40 Nm. When replacing the blade, the blade screw should also be replaced.

  1. Place an approved gasoline container below the carburetor, and use a funnel to avoid spilling fuel.
  2. Remove the drain bolt, and then move the fuel valve lever to the ON position
  3. After all the fuel has drained into the container; reinstall the drain bolt and washer. Tighten the drain bolt securely.

STORAGE

The same petrol must not remain in the tank for more than one month. Thoroughly clean the mower and store it indoors in a dry place.

THE ENVIRONMENT

In order to protect the environment, we recommend that the following points should be given special consideration:

Always use pure unleaded petrol.

Always use a funnel and/or petrol can with a level control to avoid spillage when refilling the fuel tank.

Do not fill the fuel tank completely.

Do not overfill with engine oil.

When changing the oil, ensure that all the used oil is collected. Avoid spillage. Take the used oil to a recycling unit.

Do not dispose of used oil filter in a rubbish bin. Take it to a recycling unit.

Replace the silencer if faulty. When carrying out repairs, always use original spare parts.

Always seek professional help when the carburetor requires adjustment.
