How do I set up the FLARE-1000 fog machine?

Fill the fluid tank with recommended fog fluid, screw the cap securely ensuring the pipe reaches the bottom. Connect the RF remote receiver to the 5-pin DIN socket. If using DMX, connect the DMX controller to the DMX IN XLR connector. Plug in the IEC mains lead and switch on. Allow 3-5 minutes warm-up until the green LED on the receiver lights.

How do I control the fog and LEDs via wireless remote?

Connect the wireless remote receiver to the 5-pin DIN socket and extend the antenna on the key fob. Press and hold the desired button: R for red LEDs with fog, G for green, B for blue, and FOG for fog only. Release to stop fog output.

How to configure DMX control?

Set the DMX start address using the control panel: press MODE, then use ▲/▼ and ENTER to select A001–A512 (7-channel mode). The unit then responds to DMX channels: CH1 fog volume, CH2–CH4 RGB dimming, CH5 strobe speed, CH6 auto programs, CH7 program speed.

What fluids can I use in the FLARE-1000?

Use only QTX fog fluids for best performance and to avoid damage. Recommended: Standard (yellow, 160.643UK), High Grade (orange, 160.587UK), Premium (clear, 160.589UK), or Low Level (clear, 160.592UK). Never use water or flammable liquids.

How do I clean the fog machine?

Periodically run distilled water or fog machine cleaning fluid (QTX 160.670UK) through the system to clear blockages and extend life. Clean the casing with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth; do not use strong solvents.

Why is there no fog output even though the green light is on?

Check if the fluid tank is empty. If full, the pump may be working but lines could be blocked – run distilled water or cleaner. Also verify that DMX mode is not selected with the fog volume set to zero (CH1 value 0).

What does the green LED on the remote receiver indicate?

The green LED lights up when the machine has finished warming up (after 3-5 minutes) and is ready for operation. If it does not light, check mains power and connections.

How can I adjust the LED colors manually?

Use the control panel: press MODE to navigate to r (red), g (green), or b (blue), then use ▲/▼ to set brightness from 000 (off) to 255 (full). You can combine colors simultaneously.

What safety precautions should I take?

Always use an earthed mains outlet. Do not cover vents; allow for airflow. The heating element and housing can be hot – wait for cooling before touching. Avoid liquids spilling on electronics. Do not open the case – no user serviceable parts inside.

What do I do if the fuse blows repeatedly?

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the FLARE-1000 LED vertical fog machine. This product has been designed to provide dramatic, illuminated fog effects for stage productions and themed events. Please read and keep this manual in order to achieve the best results from this equipment and avoid damage through misuse.

Unpacking

The product should arrive with you in good condition with the following components.

• FLARE-1000 LED vertical fog machine
• Wireless remote receiver
• Key fob remote control
- Mains lead(s)

If you find any accessory is missing or the machine has arrived with any problems, please contact your local dealer at once. Please keep the original package and invoice for any possible replacement or returned demand.

Warning

To prevent risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose electrical parts to rain or moisture. If liquids are spilled on areas other than inside the fluid tank, disconnect the mains, allow the FLARE-1000 to dry out and have it checked by qualified personnel before further use.

Avoid any impact, dropping or extreme pressure to the housing.

No user serviceable parts inside - do not open the case.

Allow the FLARE-1000 to acclimatize to room temperature before operating.

Placement

The FLARE-1000 has a built-in fluid container and should be operated in an upright position. Ensure that the FLARE-1000 is positioned on a stable, non-slip surface.

Safety

• Check for correct mains voltage and condition of IEC lead before connecting to mains
• This unit must be earthed
• This unit uses a heating element – be aware that parts of the housing may be hot in use!

Cleaning

• Use a soft dry or slightly damp to clean the casing
• Do not use strong solvents for cleaning the housing
• Clean the fog mechanism periodically by operating with distilled water instead of fog fluid
• It is also recommended to use fog machine cleaning fluid (160.670UK) periodically

The FLARE-1000 has a labelled window in the side panel to show the fluid level in the bottle. Check this level periodically to ensure that the FLARE-1000 does not run empty.

Setting up

1. Unscrew the top cap of the fluid tank and remove to fill with fog fluid.
2. Replace the bottle and screw the cap securely, making sure that the pipe is fed down to the bottom of the bottle to ensure a consistent flow of fluid.
3. Connect the RF remote receiver to the 5-pin DIN socket (1) on the side panel.
4. If DMX is to be used for control, connect the DMX signal from the controller to the DMX IN XLR connector (5). Any further DMX controlled units may be connected via the DMX OUT XLR connector (6).
5. Connect the IEC mains plug (7) and switch the power on (2).
6. After heat-up of 3-5 minutes, the green LED on the remote receiver will light.
7. The FLARE-1000 is now ready to use.

Operation

DMX start address and LED light settings for the FLARE-1000 are made using the control panel and display (3, 4) as described below.

Direct control is available using the RF wireless remote control. Connect the wireless remote receiver to the 5-pin DIN socket on the connection panel, extend the antenna on the key fob remote and operate from the 4 buttons as described below.

R = Fog with red LEDs on

G = Fog with green LEDs on

B = Fog with blue LEDs on

FOG = Fog with no LEDs on

Press to activate, release to stop fog output.

Troubleshooting

Warning: Hot components! ... Switch off and allow to cool before touching the unit.

No light on mains switch or remote	Check mains voltage is correct and socket is switched on
