Frequently Asked Questions - PHG 2500 A1 POWERFIX

How do I set the desired temperature?
Turn the temperature regulator to the MAX position initially. When the room reaches the desired temperature, slowly turn the regulator anticlockwise until you hear a slight click. The heating element will switch off, and the thermostat will automatically maintain the temperature.
What should I do if the heater overheats?
The overheating protection disables the heating element but keeps the fan running to cool the unit. Check that the appliance is not covered or too close to a wall, and ensure the grilles and fan are clear. If the problem persists, contact Customer Service.
Can I use this heater in a bathroom?
The appliance has IPX4 protection, which means it is splashproof. However, the manual states it must not be used in the immediate vicinity of a bath, shower, or swimming pool. It is intended for indoor living spaces only.
How do I clean the heater?
Always switch off and unplug the heater before cleaning. Use a soft damp cloth with mild dishwashing liquid to clean the housing. Remove dust from the protective screen with a vacuum cleaner. Avoid moisture entering the appliance.
What are the power consumption levels?
The heater has two heating levels: 1500W (level 1) and 3000W (level 2). Fan-only operation consumes 30W. Input voltage is 220-240V at 50Hz.
Can I use the heater outdoors?
No. The manual explicitly states: 'Do not use the appliance outdoors.' It is intended only for indoor domestic use.
How long is the warranty?
The warranty period is 3 years from the date of purchase. Keep your receipt as proof of purchase. The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects but not transport damage, wear parts, or abuse.
What should I do if the heater doesn't turn on?
Check that the plug is connected to a working mains socket. If the socket is okay, check your house fuses. If the appliance still does not work, contact Customer Service. Do not attempt repairs yourself.
Is the heater noisy?
The noise level is not specified in the manual, but as a fan heater, it produces a moderate hum from the fan and heating element. It is intended for normal room heating.
Can I use an extension cord?
The manual does not specifically mention extension cords. For safety, it is recommended to plug the heater directly into a wall socket. If necessary, use a heavy-duty extension cord suitable for 3000W and ensure it is fully uncoiled.

Handling and operation

In this chapter you receive important information for the handling and operation of the appliance.

Operating switch

The operating switch ② has 4 positions and switches the ventilator and the heating levels on and off.

0

0 = Appliance switched off

= only ventilator

+ = Ventilator and heating level 1

✗ = Ventilator and heating level 2

Temperature regulator

MAX MIN

The temperature regulator 3 is steplessly adjustable. By turning it clockwise a higher temperature is set, by turning it anti-clockwise a lower temperature will be set.

Heating operation

◆ Ensure that the operating switch 2 is at position 0 (off).
If the appliance is being taken into service for the first time or if you want to reset the desired temperature, turn the temperature control ③ to the MAX position.
◆ Set the operating switch 2 to the desired operating mode.

Setting the temperature

♦ Turn the temperature regulator ^3 firstly to the Max position.
When the room has reached the desired temperature, slowly turn the temperature regulator ③ anti-clockwise until a slight click sound is heard. This means that the heating element is now switched off.
The heating element is now switched on and off automatically by the thermostat and the temperature is kept constant.

NOTICE

The ventilator continues to run when the temperature regulator has switched the heating element off. The appliance thus circulates the air in the room and so determines optimally, if the room has cooled

Overheating protection

The appliance is fitted with a temperature regulator controlled overheating protector. Should the appliance become too hot internally, the heating element switches itself off automatically. However, the fan continues to run, so that a rapid cooling can be achieved. Once the appliance has cooled itself down, the heating element switches back on automatically.

POWERFIX PHG 2500 A1 - Overheating protection - 1

WARNING

As a general rule, overheating has a reason! It can mean a risk of fi re!

▶ Check that the appliance can sufficiently disburse the heat generated: Is the appliance covered or is it too close to a wall or other obstacle? Are the grilles on the front or back clear? Is the ventilator blocked?
▶ If possible, eliminate the problem or contact the Service Hotline (see Chapter Service).
Even if you cannot find a cause, but the overheating protection triggers a second time, you must return the appliance to Customer Services for inspection or repair.
