Frequently Asked Questions - DABMAN 2 Imperial

How do I charge the DABMAN 2?
Use the provided USB charging cable and connect to a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB charger). Charge for about 2 hours before first use. The charging process starts automatically.
Why is there no sound from the earphone?
Make sure the earphone is firmly inserted. Also check if the earphone cable is fully unrolled, as a rolled cable may affect reception. If connected via Bluetooth, sound is only output through the Bluetooth device, not the earphone.
How do I scan for DAB+ channels?
Press the Menu button, select 'Settings', then 'Channel Scan'. The radio will scan and store all available DAB/DAB+ stations automatically. For FM scanning, ensure you switch to FM mode first.
How do I connect to a Bluetooth speaker?
Press Menu, go to 'Settings', then 'Bluetooth'. Enable Bluetooth and select 'Search'. Choose your Bluetooth device from the list. If a PIN is required, enter it on the radio (default is 1234 or as per device). Once paired, the Bluetooth icon turns white.
How do I use the FM transmitter to play radio in my car?
Press Menu, select 'Settings', then 'FM Transmitter', and turn it 'On'. Choose an FM frequency (e.g., 94.7 MHz) that is not occupied by a local station. Tune your car radio to the same frequency. Ensure the earphone or antenna cable is connected.
Can I play MP3 music on the DABMAN 2?
Yes. Insert a Micro SD card with MP3 files into the slot. Change mode to MP3 via Menu > Mode > MP3. You can navigate folders and files using the navigation buttons. The radio supports play modes like Normal, Repeat, Shuffle.
How do I store a radio station as a preset?
While listening to a station, press and hold the ▶ button for 3 seconds. The station is added to the preset list. To recall, press Menu and select 'Preset List', then choose a preset.
What does the 'Service Following' feature do?
When enabled, if the DAB/DAB+ signal becomes weak, the radio automatically switches to the same station on FM (if available). This ensures uninterrupted listening.
How do I update the firmware?
Download the latest firmware from the TELESTAR website. Connect the DABMAN 2 to your computer via USB. The device appears as external storage. Copy the firmware file to the radio, then safely eject. The radio will update automatically and restart.
What should I do if the radio does not turn on?
Ensure the battery is charged. Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. If it still does not turn on, connect the charger and try again. If the problem persists, contact service at +49(0)2676 / 95 20 101 or service@telestar.de.
