How to fill the water tank?

Remove the water tank (fig. 1), rinse it and fill it with fresh water without exceeding the MAX line. Put it back in place by pushing it all the way in. To remove the tank, the cappuccino wand must be positioned towards the center.

How to adjust the coffee grind?

Turn the grind adjustment knob (fig. 17) only while the grinder is running. Turn clockwise for a coarser grind (faster), counterclockwise for a finer grind (slower, better crema). Wait at least 2 coffees to see the effect.

What to do if coffee flows too slowly (drip by drip)?

Turn the grind adjustment knob (fig. 17) one notch clockwise. If that is not enough, also reduce the coffee amount by slightly turning the right knob (fig. 7) counterclockwise.

How to prepare a cappuccino with this machine?

1. Prepare a coffee in a large cup. 2. Press the steam button (fig. 21). Wait until the steam indicator light stays on steadily. 3. Immerse the cappuccino wand in cold milk (do not immerse the raised line). 4. Turn the steam knob half a turn (fig. 5) to froth. 5. Stop the steam by turning the knob and deactivate the steam function. Pour the foam over the coffee.

What does the flashing alarm light for the water tank mean?

The ◇ indicator light steadily on indicates that the water tank is empty or not inserted correctly. Fill it and insert it all the way. If the problem persists, the tank may be dirty or calcified; rinse it or descale it.

How to perform descaling?

Use DURGOL descaler (125 ml) diluted in 1 liter of water. Pour into the tank, place a 1.5 L container under the spout, turn on the machine, press the descaling button (fig. 14) for 5 seconds then open the steam knob. The program lasts about 30 minutes. Follow the rinsing instructions with fresh water at the end. Regular descaling is necessary for warranty.

Why isn't the coffee hot enough?

Preheat the cups by rinsing them with hot water or placing them on the cup warmer for 20 minutes. If the machine has been inactive for more than 2-3 minutes, run hot water by pressing the one-cup button (fig. 14) to reheat the infuser.

How to clean the infuser?

Turn off the machine, open the service door, remove the drip tray and grounds drawer. Press the two red release buttons to extract the infuser. Wash it under water without detergent (do not put in dishwasher). Clean the inside of the machine with a wooden/plastic fork and vacuum up residues. Reassemble by pressing on PUSH until it clicks into place.

What to do if the grounds drawer is full (indicator light on)?

The ≡ indicator light turns on steadily after about 14 single coffees. Open the service door, remove the drip tray, empty and clean the grounds drawer. Wipe off condensation drops. Put everything back and close. Important: always empty the drawer even if not full when removing the drip tray.

How to use pre-ground coffee instead of beans?

Press the pre-ground coffee button (fig. 18) – the indicator light turns on. Lift the central lid, pour one single-dose measure (supplied) into the funnel (fig. 19). Use the 1 cup button. Do not pour more than one measure. To return to beans, press the button again to deactivate the function.

A) If your appliance comes fitted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13 Amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted, as below. WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard. With alternative plugs not incorporating a fuse, the circuit must be protected by a 15 Amp fuse.

If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be re-fitted when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to BS 1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT be used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correct replacement fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug.

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug marked with the letter E or the earth symbol ⏚ or coloured green or green and yellow. The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red.
