How do I clean the AOpen Digital Engine DEX5550?

Disconnect the device from power before cleaning. Use a moist sheet or cloth; do not use liquid or sprayed detergent.

What type of memory does the DEX5550 support?

It supports DDR4 SO-DIMM modules in dual channel mode, up to 32GB total at 2133MHz.

Can I use an external power switch with the DEX5550?

Yes, the rear I/O includes an extend power switch terminal block. Connect a momentary switch (AWG 20-28, strip 9-10mm) to the Ground and SW+ pins.

Is the DEX5550 fanless?

Yes, the DEX5550 features a fanless design. Ensure at least 5cm clearance on the right and rear sides for passive cooling.

How many displays can I connect?

It has two HDMI 2.0 ports on the rear, supporting dual display output.

What operating system is compatible?

The device is a standard x86 PC; it supports Windows, Linux, and other operating systems compatible with Intel 7th Gen hardware.

Does the DEX5550 have built-in WiFi?

It has an M.2 2230 slot for a WiFi module, but the module is not included. You can install one separately.

4. Function Introduction

4.1 Extend power switch

Extend power switch at rear IO of DEX5550 can allow customer to extend the power switch by their demand, and customer can decide their own switch specification and cable length just follow the wire gauge and strip length.

Ground & SW+ are for connection to extend power switch, and PS_ON is a signal to present the system power on/off status, when PS_ON signal is low, then system is in power on status when PS_ON signal is high, then system is in power off status

This is a screwless type spring clamp pluggable terminal block, you can insert a wire by press the button on the terminal, please refer to the procedure below.

Step 1 please prepare a pin or rod that hard enough for pushing the button on the terminal block Step 2 push the button in the end and hold it

Step 3 insert the wire into the hole and make sure the stripped portion is fully inserted Step 4 release the pin or rod then the wire will clamp by the terminal block
