Frequently Asked Questions - BC60S BELLING

How do I install the Belling BC60S range hood?
Follow these steps: First, fix the installation plate and extension chimney installation plate to the wall using the provided plastic expansion pipes and screws. Then, attach the exhaust pipe. Hang the range hood on the installation plate, connect the exhaust pipe, and lock the screws (ST5*50) under the filter to prevent sliding. Finally, fix the chimney and extension. Ensure the minimum distance from the hob is 650 mm and that the ventilation tube bends at ≥120°.
What is the recommended distance between the hob and the hood?
The minimum distance between the supporting surface for cooking vessels on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood is 650 mm for safe and effective operation.
How do I clean the aluminium grease filters?
Remove the filters (see Fig.11 in the manual). You can wash them in a dishwasher with detergent at a temperature below 60°C. Do not use abrasive detergents as they may damage the hood. Always switch off the hood before cleaning.
How often should I replace the carbon filter?
The carbon filter (optional, not supplied) should be replaced after approximately 2-3 months of use. The carbon filter cannot be washed or recycled. To replace, remove the grease filters, then turn the carbon filter until it locks; reverse to remove.
What should I do if the hood is not working?
If the light works but the motor does not, check for blocked blades or a damaged capacitor or motor. If both light and motor do not work, check the power cord connection and replace lights if necessary. For oil leakage, ensure the outlet and ventilation entrance are tightly sealed. For vibration, tighten the motor and hood mounting, and replace the blade if damaged.
How do I replace the LED lights?
The LED lamps are 1.5W DC 12V with a round diameter of 70 mm (ILCOS D code DSR-1.5-S-70). For servicing, please contact Glen Dimplex Customer Care. Ensure the power is off before replacing.
Why is my hood vibrating?
Possible causes: a damaged blade (replace it), the motor not tightly fastened (tighten it), or the cooker hood not securely fixed to the wall (tighten all mounting screws). Check these components.
What do the different speed levels do?
Press the Low button for low speed, Mid for medium speed, and High for maximum suction. Press Stop to turn off the motor. The Light button controls the two LED lamps.
Can I use the hood with gas appliances?
Yes, but when using the range hood simultaneously with gas or other fuel-burning appliances, ensure adequate ventilation in the room. The air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from gas or other fuels.
Where can I get spare parts or service?
For spare parts and service, contact Glen Dimplex Australia (Ph: 1 800 444 357, www.belling.com.au) or Glen Dimplex New Zealand (Ph: 09 274 8265, www.belling.co.nz). Have your model number ready.
