Frequently Asked Questions - DVN05R20W BEKO

How do I adjust the water softener level?
First, determine your water hardness using the test strip. Then, with the program knob off, press and hold the Start/Pause/Cancel key and rotate the knob one step clockwise. Keep the key pressed for 3 seconds. Use the program knob to select the appropriate hardness level (0-5) and press Start/Pause/Cancel to save.
What does the salt indicator mean?
The salt indicator lights up when the salt level is low. Refill the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt to ensure optimal water softening. If your water hardness is below 7°dH, salt may not be needed and the indicator may stay on continuously.
How to use the rinse aid?
Pour rinse aid into the dispensing compartment until it is full. The rinse aid indicator will light up when a refill is needed. Adjust the dosage setting if necessary for better drying results.
Which program is most efficient?
The Eco program at 50°C is the most energy and water efficient for normally soiled dishes. It is also the reference program for compliance with EU eco-design directives.
What is the half load function?
The half load function reduces water and energy consumption when washing fewer dishes. Press the Half Load key (or combined with Tablet function) to activate. Suitable for Quick & Shine or Mini programs.
How to activate the child lock?
Press and hold the Delay function key for 3 seconds to enable or disable the child lock. The child lock indicator will show when active, preventing unintended button presses.
Can I use tablet detergent?
Yes. Press and hold the Half Load key for 3 seconds to activate the tablet detergent function (indicator lights). This optimizes program settings for all-in-one tablets.
What does the 'Program Ended' indicator mean?
The Program Ended indicator (end light) illuminates when the cycle is complete. The drying indicator shows during the drying phase. If only the washing light is on, the program is still in progress.
How do I cancel a running program?
Press and hold the Start/Hold/Cancel key for 3 seconds. The machine will cancel the current cycle and drain water. The program knob should be turned to Off before starting a new program.
What to do if dishes are not drying properly?
Ensure rinse aid is filled and the dosage is set correctly. Use the Intensive or Eco programs with drying phase. Avoid overloading and ensure the dishwasher is properly leveled. Also, check that the water softener is adjusted to your water hardness.

  • If the water hardness is set to level 1, the Salt Indicator will light continuously although it is not necessary to use salt. If you use salt under this condition, salt will not be consumed and the lamp will not illuminate.

When moving, you will need to set the water hardness level of your dishwasher again according to the information above, depending on the water hardness of the place you have moved to. If the water hardness level of your machine is adjusted previously, your machine will display the most recent hardness level adjustment.
