How do I turn on the Pantech Breeze IV for the first time?

Press and hold the Power button located on the top edge until the screen lights up. Follow the on-screen setup wizard to select language, connect to Wi-Fi, and sign in to your Google account.

How can I insert a SIM card?

Turn off the phone and remove the back cover. Insert the SIM card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down and the cut corner aligned. Replace the battery and back cover.

How do I expand storage on the Breeze IV?

The phone supports microSD cards up to 32 GB. Remove the back cover, locate the microSD slot, and insert the card firmly until it clicks into place.

Why is my phone not charging?

Ensure the charger is properly connected to the phone and a working power outlet. Try a different USB cable or charger. If the issue persists, the battery may need replacement.

How do I take a screenshot?

Press and hold the Power button and Volume Down button simultaneously for about 2 seconds. The screen will flash and the screenshot will be saved in the Gallery.

Can I use the Breeze IV as a portable hotspot?

Yes. Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Tethering & portable hotspot. Enable Portable Wi-Fi hotspot and configure the network name and password.

How to reset the phone to factory settings?

Back up your data first. Go to Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset. Tap Reset phone and then Erase everything. The phone will reboot to factory state.

What should I do if the touchscreen is unresponsive?

Clean the screen with a soft dry cloth. Remove any screen protector. If still unresponsive, remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, reinsert, and restart. If the problem continues, contact support.

How do I update the software?

Go to Settings > About phone > System updates. The phone will check for updates. If available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install.

Using Shortcuts

Numbered menu items, such as menus, sub-menus, and options can be quickly accessed by using their shortcut numbers.

In Menu mode, Main Menus can be accessed by pressing the number keys (1 to #) corresponding to their location on the screen.

SIM card and battery

About your SIM card

When you subscribe to your network operator, you receive a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card containing your registration information, PIN code, etc. Like a credit card, it should be kept secure and handled carefully. Do not bend, scratch or expose it to moisture. Avoid static electricity.

To avoid corrupting your SIM card's memory, always switch off your phone before removing or inserting your SIM card.

About your battery

Your phone uses a Li-Ion battery. Make sure to use an authorized battery and charger only. For more details, please inquire at your nearest dealer.

note: Your phone is powered by a Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery. This means that, unlike other forms of battery technology, you can recharge your battery while some charge remains without reducing your phone's autonomy due to the "battery memory effect" inherent in those technologies.

Installing/removing SIM card and battery

1. Remove the battery cover from the unit. To fit the battery cover, put it on the guide rail and push up.

1. Insert the SIM card into the slot. The gold contacts of the SIM card should go against the metal contacts of the phone.

Put the contacts of the battery into the hole located at the top of the unit and then insert and press the lower side of the battery until you hear the "click". Make sure you align the gold contacts at the battery end with contacts on

the phone. If the contacts at the battery are not properly aligned, damage could occur to the phone and the battery.

1. To remove the battery, push the bottom of the battery to upwards (1) and remove (2) the battery. Push the SIM card in the arrow direction as shown.

	Signal strength. The greater the number of bars, the stronger the signal. When network is in searching mode is displayed.
	Flight mode is active.
[360S]	A call is being made. When you are in no service area, is displayed.

[40ZX]	Incoming calls set to Vibrate and Ring.

Setting the phone mode

Your phone has two customized modes, Breeze and Advanced. The default is set to Breeze mode which provides EZ access to the functions used most frequently. In the Breeze mode, you can view an abbreviated menu: Address Book, Messaging, Camera, AT&T Services, Tools and Settings. The Advanced Mode allows access to all menu items.

1. Select Menu > Settings > Phone Mode.
2. Select Breeze Mode or Advanced Mode.

Assigning the menu

You can set the most commonly used menu item in GoTo in standby mode.

1. Select GoTo in standby mode > (Unassigned).
2. Select Add.
3. Select the menu item and sub menu item.
4. Select Save.

Entering text

You can enter text with multi-tap, predictive, numeric or symbol.

ABC mode

Press the key labeled with the target letter once for the first letter; press it twice for the second letter, and so on.

1. Press # to change the mode as multi-tap.
2. Press 2 ABC to 4 times input text repeatedly. To write the letter "C", press 2 ABC 3 times. To write number 2, press 2 _ABC 4 times.

Predictive mode (T9)

The predictive mode automatically compares your keystrokes with an internal linguistic dictionary to determine

the correct word. It will display the most commonly used first. To save a word not listed in phone's dictionary, select Options > Predictive Settings > My Words.

1. Press #to change the mode to predictive.
2. Press to input text. For example, to write 'hello', press 4 111 3 207 5 1XL 5 1XL 6 _MNT .

Number mode

You can input numbers in this mode.

1. Press #to change the mode to 123.

2. Press to and to input numbers.

Symbol mode

You can input symbols.

1. Press *to view the symbols.
2. Press ▲/▼/◄/► to select a symbol and select Insert.

Quick call keys

Getting in touch with those you call most is now as EZ as 1-2-3.

note: The following direction is an example with using 1 key. The usage of and keys will be same as the following.

PC Suite

PC suite is a Windows-based PC program that allows you to easily manage personal data and multimedia files by connecting your Phone to a PC. The PC suite application can be downloaded at http://www.pantechusa.com.

Memory card

You can use a microSD card as a memory card. It gives you more space to save pictures, videos, music, etc.

Inserting a memory card

1. Remove the battery cover and the battery from the unit.

2. Unlock the microSD card slot by carefully sliding it up. The metal cover should now be easily lifted up.

SD card into the slot. The gold contacts of the microSD card should go against the metal contacts of the phone.

1. Close the metal

cover and slide down to lock the microSD card in place. The icon will be displayed when the phone is turned on.

Using a memory card

You can save, move and delete the files in your phone and external memory card. You can also move and copy the files to computer from your phone.

To copy a file to the memory card

1. Select a file > Options > Copy.

2. Select Memory by pressing

◀/▶. To copy the file back to the phone, select Phone.

1. Select a desired folder > Here.

To move a file to the memory card

1. Select a file > Options > Move.
2. Select Memory by pressing ◀/▶. To copy the file back to the phone, select Phone.
3. Select a desired folder > Here.

To delete a file from the memory card

1. Select a file from the card > Options > Delete > Yes.

In Advanced Mode, you have access to all of the features of Breeze IV including the features provided by Breeze Mode.

To move the file from the card to the computer

1. Connect the data cable with mobile and the computer.
2. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity.
3. Select Select USB Mode.
4. Select Music Player, Mass Storage, Modem, or Ask on Connection.
5. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.

Getting started

note: Select Music Player when you want to add music to the playlist in your device. When you select Ask on Connection, it will ask you to select Music Player, Mass Storage, or Modem every time you connect your device with your computer.

Resetting a memory card

1. Select Menu > Settings > Reset.
   2.Enterpassword.
2. Select OK > External Memory Reset > Select > Yes.

note: Master Reset and Master Clear will reset your phone to its default settings. The default password is '1234'.

1. Enter the phone number or select Options > View Contacts.
2. Press to dial the second call. The first call is automatically put on hold.

Switching between two calls

1. Select Options > Swap.

Making an international call

1. Press and hold for the international prefix until the '+', character appears.

2. Type the country code, area code, and phone number.

3. Press CALL.

Making an emergency call

1. You can make emergency calls even if your phone does not have a SIM card.
2. Press Emergency Number, or select SOS if your phone does not have a SIM card.
3. Press CALL

Replying to a missed call

1. Press to display the calls list.

2. Select Missed Calls by pressing ◀/▶.

3. Select a number to call by pressing ▲/▼.
4. Press CALL

1. Press CALL The first call is automatically put on hold.

You can eliminate background noise from conversations and improve the voice quality of communications by setting Noise Suppression to On.

Enter the first letters of the name for Name Search. The entries are displayed starting with the first entry matching your input.

You can dial quickly using speed dialing. Up to 8 phone numbers can be programmed using numbers 2 to 9.

Using your headset

You can make or receive a call using your headset. When you connect your headset to the jack, the button on the headset works as follows.

note: You must use the headset designed for this device. It is an optional item. Not all headset will have a button.

Fixed dialing number is a service that limits your access to specific numbers in the address book list recorded on the SIM. Input the PIN2 to set up or cancel this service. The default PIN2 is "2222".

note: PIN2 must be correctly entered within 3 attempts. If you input incorrect code three times in a row, the PIN2 code will be blocked. If the PIN2 code is blocked, please contact your service provider. Your PIN2 code is supplied with the SIM card.

Sending a text message

3. Select > Options > Send to and a contact to send the message and select Select > Done.
4. To save message as draft, select Options > Save the Message.

6. To view the sent message, select Menu > Messaging.

7. Select a conversation > View.

Creating multimedia messages

You can create and send multimedia messages. Capacity is 100KB, 300KB or 600KB. An error message will alert you once the message exceeds the capacity.

2. Enter a message.

3. Select Insert > Picture by pressing ◀/▶. Select My Picture.

4. Scroll to the saved picture and select View. Confirm the picture and select Select.

5. To preview the message, press ▲/▼ to select the slide box and select Options >Preview >Current or Whole Message.
6. To edit the text message, press ▲/▼ to select the text box and edit your message.
7. Select Options > Send to > a contact > Select > Done > Send.

2. Select Create New for new alarm.

Editing existing alarms

Setting a simple alarm

Pill Reminder

Pill Reminder sets your schedule to take pill, and alarm pop-up will appear on the setting time.

You can select to accept the reminder or have the reminder pop-up again after 15 minutes.

1. Select Menu > Tools > Pill Reminder > Create New.
2. Select Take and then, take a picture.

Stop watch

note: In Basic Mode, when you exit the stop watch menu, or become idle, the stop watch will continue running and

Say a Command

Your phone is equipped with an Advanced Voice Command (AVC) feature. This feature allows you to make calls or use the phone functions by simply using your voice. All you have to do is talk into the phone and then the phone will recognize your voice and complete tasks by itself.

1. In standby mode, simply press to access Say a Command.

Readout Mode makes your phone a useful companion when you can't or don't have the ability to read the phone screen. When Readout mode is activated, the phone will announce key alert, navigation, and content information verbally.

Using your headset

You can make or receive a call using your headset. When you connect your headset to the jack, the button on the headset works as follows.

note: You must use the headset designed for this device. It is an optional item. Not all headset will have a button.

While in standby mode

1. Press the button once to list recent calls.
2. Press the button twice to redial the last call.

While the phone is closed

1. Press the button once to receive an incoming call.
2. Press and hold the button once to end the call.

Fixed dialing number

Viewing fixed dialing number list

Fixed dialing number is a service that limits your access to specific numbers in the address book list recorded on the SIM. Input the PIN2 to set up or cancel this service. The default PIN2 is "2222".

1. Select Menu > Address Book > Fixed Dial Numbers.

note: PIN2 must be correctly entered within 3 attempts. If you input incorrect code three times in a row, the PIN2 code will be blocked. If the PIN2 code is blocked, please contact your service provider. Your PIN2 code is supplied with the SIM card.

Up to 300 messages can be stored in the phone memory, additional messages will be saved to the SIM card. When the message box is full, the messages full icon will appear. All messages share memory.

Camera

You can take pictures and record movies using the built-in camera. The photos and video clips can be saved and sent via multimedia messages or Bluetooth.

note: When you set the photo size to 2048x1536, the zoom function is not available.

The Picture menu allows you to view all the pictures you have taken, save selected images to your phone or an external memory card and share the photos with others. JPEG format is supported, and other formats are saved in the Picture folder.

Music player

The Music Player is an application that can play MP3 and audio files. The supported file formats are MIDI, i-Melody, MP3, AMR, WAV, AAC, AAC+, WMA.

note: A microSD card must be inserted to transfer music to your phone.

Adding music from Windows Media Player™

1. Launch Window Media Player on your computer.
2. Connect the USB cable to the device and the computer.
3. Select Music Player, Mass Storage, or Modem.
4. Open the Sync tab in Windows Media Player™ on your computer.
5. Select the music from the list and drag and drop to your phone.
6. Click Sync now in Widows Media Player on your computer

note: Windows Media Player™ 11 and Windows XP version is required.

Playing music

1. Select Menu > AT&T Music > Music Player.
2. Select a category (Now Playing, All Music, Playlists, Albums, Artists, Genres) > Select.
3. Select All > Play to play all songs in the All Music.
4. Select Options > Stop to stop playing.

note: Music will pause when you receive an incoming call and Music will resume when the call ends.

Making a playlist

1. Select Menu > AT&T Music > Music Player.
2. Select Playlists > New Playlist.
3. Input Playlist Name and select Save.
4. Select All Music, Albums, Artists or Genres.
5. Select a music file(s) and select Select to add to the playlist.
6. Select Done.

Using a playlist

1. To add tracks to a playlist, select Menu > AT&T Music > Music Player > Playlists.
2. Select a playlist to add music and select Options > Add Tracks.
3. Select All Music, Albums, Artists or Genres.
4. Select a music file(s) > Select > Done.
5. To remove tracks from the playlist, select Options > Remove Tracks > a music file(s) > Select > Remove.

Listening music with Bluetooth headset

When the Bluetooth headset is paired, you can listen to music through the paired Bluetooth headset.

Viewing a music file information

1. While music is playing in the player mode, select Options > Properties.
2. Use ▲/▼ to view Track Number, Title, Artist, Album, Genre, Duration, Filename, File Size, Location, Format, Bit Rate, Created, License and Sharing.

Setting as ring tone

1. Select Menu > AT&T Music > Music Player.
2. Select a category (All Music, Playlists, Albums, Artists,

Genres) > Select.

note: You cannot set the music file while it is playing. If a music file is larger than 300KB, the file will be deactivated for setting ring tone.

Deleting music

4. Select Options > Delete.

note: If the music file is playing, you cannot delete it.

Editing existing alarms

Setting a simple alarm

1. Select Menu > Tools > Alarm Clock.
2. Select Simple Alarm and select Edit.
3. Set the alarm schedule and select Save.

Pill Reminder

Pill Reminder sets your schedule to take pill, and alarm pop-up will appear on the setting time.

You can select to accept the reminder or have the reminder pop-up again after 15 minutes.

Creating a new pill reminder

1. Select Menu > Tools > Pill Reminder > Create New.
2. Select Take and then, take a picture.

Advanced Mode - Useful features

Say a Command

Your phone is equipped with an Advanced Voice Command (AVC) feature. This feature allows you to make calls or use the phone functions by simply using your voice. All you have to do is talk into the phone and then the phone will recognize your voice and complete tasks by itself.

1. In standby mode, simply press to access Say a Command. Or select Menu > Tools > Say a Command.

2. At the voice prompt, say a command and simply follow the voice prompts.

The following list shows available voice commands.

Call : Voice dials a name or phone number in your address book. If multiple numbers exist, say the name and the number type (i.e. mobile, home, work, or other).

Send Message :

Display the Create Message screen with the contact you have spoken.

Contact : Retrieve and display the contact information stored in the address book.

Go To

: Open an application on your phone.

Check : Check the status information of your phone (Status, Voicemail, Messages, Missed Calls, Time, Signal strength, Battery, My Phone Number, and Volume).

Readout Mode

Readout Mode makes your phone a useful companion when you can't or don't have the ability to read the phone screen. When Readout mode is activated, the phone will announce key alert, navigation, and content information verbally.

• Message Sent and other confirmation notifications

• Announce highlighted items in Menus as user navigates the phone

• Announce numbers as they are pressed on keypad

When your phone is set to Advanced Mode, you can use functionality associated with connectivity and set the connection profiles.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth technology enables free wireless connections between electronic devices within a maximum range of 33 feet (10 meters). Bluetooth connections can be used to send images, text, business cards, calendar events, or to connect to computers using Bluetooth technology.

Your mobile phone supports:

• Connect to PC to access internet.
• Connect to Hands-Free.
• Connect to electronic devices.

Adding a device

1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth > My Devices.

Receiving files

The receipt should be approved before receiving a file(s). The received file(s) will be saved in the corresponding folder. For example, if you received contacts information from the sender, it will be saved in your phone's memory.

The Personal Identification Number (PIN) is the security code that protects the phone or SIM against unauthorized use. The default PIN1 is "1111".

TTY

The teletypewriter (TTY) is a telecommunications device that allows people who are deaf or hard of hearing, or who have speech or language disabilities, to communicate via a telephone.

Setting teletypewriter

1. Select Menu > Settings > TTY.

2. Select Disable, TTY Full, TTY Talk or TTY Hear.

3. Disable: TTY mode is disabled.

4. TTY Full: Users who cannot talk and hear, can send and receive text messages.

If you experience any problem while using your mobile phone, please refer to the following checklist. If the problem still persists, contact your dealer or nearest carrier.

When the "Insert SIM Card" message appears:

Make sure the SIM card is correctly installed. Check to see if the SIM card is working properly. If it does not work, try to clean the contact points of the card with a dry cloth. If it is out of order, take it to your service provider.

When the "Messages full" message appears:

The received or saved messages are full in your phone memory. You need to delete some messages.

When the "Phone and SIM messages are full. Delete Messages" message appears:

The received or saved messages are full in your phone and SIM card memory. You need to delete the message to receive or send messages.

Appendix

When the "Password" message appears in Phone locked state:

Enter the phone password. The default password is "1234". If you cannot remember the password, contact the nearest carrier.

When the "Enter PIN1" message appears:

Input PIN1. The default PIN1 is "1111". If you cannot remember it, contact your service provider. You can still receive calls even if your mobile phone becomes locked after entering the incorrect PIN1 on three consecutive attempts.

When the "No Service" or "Network Search" appears:

If you cannot make/receive a call when you are indoors or undergrounds where the signal strength is poor, move toward a window or go out to an open area. If you still cannot make a connection, contact your service provider.

Troubleshooting checklist

When audio quality is poor: End a call and try again.

When the other party cannot hear you speaking:

Your phone may be set to MUTE. Disable the MUTE function. Or your hand may be covering the microphone located below the #☆ key.

When battery lifetime is shorter than usual:

This may happen when you are in an area with low signal strength. Turn off your phone when it is not in use. Change the battery when battery energy is exhausted.

When your mobile phone does not turn on:

Make sure your battery is charged. Check to see if your phone works while recharging the battery.

When you are unable to send a message:

Either you are not registered to receive an SMS service, or you may be in an area where your network service provider cannot provide such a service.

Your phone may be set to "Fixed Dialing Number (FDN)" mode. Cancel the "FDN" mode.

Mobile phones emit electromagnetic waves that

may affect nearby electronic devices. When it is switched on, do not place your phone close to delicate electronic equipment.

About the battery age

Your phone is powered by a Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery. This means that, unlike other forms of battery technology, you can recharge your battery while some charge remains without reducing your phone's autonomy due to the "battery memory effect" inherent in those technologies.

• Do not use a damaged battery or charger.
• Do not disassemble or open crush, bend or deform, puncture or shred.
• Do not modify or remanufacture, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery, immerse or expose to water or other liquids, expose to fire, explosion or other hazard.

• Do not put your battery into contact with conductive objects.

FCC Hearing-Aid Compatibility (HAC) regulations for wireless devices

On July 10, 2003, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Report and Order in WT Docket 01-309 modified the exception of wireless phones under the Hearing Aid Compatibility Act of 1988 (HAC Act) to require digital wireless phones be compatible with hearing-aids.

The intent of the HAC Act is to ensure reasonable access to telecommunications services for persons with hearing disabilities.

While some wireless phones are used near some hearing devices (hearing aids and cochlear implants), users may detect a buzzing, humming, or whining noise. Some hearing devices are more immune than others to this interference noise, and phones also vary in the amount of interference they generate.

The wireless telephone industry has developed a rating system for wireless phones, to assist hearing device users find phones that may be compatible with

their hearing devices. Not all phones have been rated. Phones that are rated have the rating on their box or a label located on the box.

The ratings are not guarantees. Results will vary depending on the user's hearing device and hearing loss. If your hearing device happens to be vulnerable to interference, you may not be able to use a rated phone successfully. Trying out the phone with your hearing device is the best way to evaluate it for your personal needs.

• M-Ratings: Phones rated M3 or M4 meet FCC requirements and are likely to generate less interference to hearing devices than phones that are not labeled. M4 is the better/higher of the two ratings.
  • T-Ratings: Phones rated T3 or T4 meet FCC requirements and are likely to generate less interference to hearing devices than phones that are not labeled. T4 is the better/higher of the two ratings.

In the above example, if a hearing aid meets the M2 level rating and the wireless phone meets the M3 level rating, the sum of the two values equal M5. This is synonymous for T ratings. This should provide the hearing aid user with “normal usage” while using their hearing aid with the particular wireless phone.

"Normal usage" in this context is defined as a signal quality that is acceptable for normal operation.

The M mark is intended to be synonymous with the U mark. The T mark is intended to be synonymous with the UT mark. The M and T marks are recommended by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industries Solutions (ATIS). The U and UT marks are referenced

in Section 20.19 of the FCC Rules. The HAC rating and measurement procedure are described in the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) C63.19 standard.

To ensure that the Hearing Aid Compatibility rating for your phone is maintained, secondary transmitters such as Bluetooth and WLAN components must be disabled during a call. See page 85 for instructions to disable these components.

This phone has been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for some of the wireless

technologies that it uses. However, there may be some newer wireless technologies used in this phone that have not been tested yet for use with hearing aids. - When using the phone in speakerphone mode with noise suppression turned on, it is recommended that you hold the phone in the opened position with the microphone below the keypad facing you. In this position, the higher-performing advanced noise suppression utilizing two microphones (one located below the external display and the LED indicators and the other located below the
