Position your Arlo Solar Panel

The amount of energy that the solar panel produces is affected by how much sunlight the solar panel receives, weather conditions, and dust or debris. A solar panel in the same location might produce a different amount of energy at noon in December than at noon in June.

Similarly, the same panel might produce more energy in one geographic location and less in another. In both situations, the difference is based on the amount of sunlight that the solar panel receives.

To optimize the effectiveness of your solar panel, do the following:

• Choose a location for your solar panel that gets the most sunlight throughout the year.
- Choose a location for your solar panel with a temperature range of 32° 113°F (0° to 45°C).
- Wipe your solar panel every few months to remove dust or debris that might affect solar energy harvesting efficiency.
• We recommend that the batteries be fully charged when you connect your Arlo device to your Arlo Solar Panel. The solar panel maintains the battery charge level of your Arlo devices.

WARNING: Do not unplug the cable from your Arlo Solar Panel. Damage to the cable or to the solar panel could result.

Install your solar panel

1. Place the mount near where your Arlo device is mounted.
2. Secure the mount with the screws provided in the package.

2. Adjust the angle of the solar panel on the mount to receive maximum sunlight.

Connect your camera

1. Choose a location for your camera and then install the outdoor camera mount.

2. Remove the USB port cap from the camera.

Note: Replacement USB port caps are included in case you want to use your camera wire-free later.

1. Slide the wind bracket onto the solar panel cable.

The wind bracket supports the connection of the cable to your camera.

1. Connect the cable connector to the USB port on your camera and press in firmly.

1. For an Arlo Go camera, press the tab on the cable connector into the bottom of the USB port

1. Slide the wind bracket next to the camera and align the bracket hole with the camera screw threads.
2. For Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2 cameras, thread the extension bolt through the wind bracket and into the camera screw threads.

Connect your Arlo Security Light

2. Open and turn the micro USB port cap 180 degrees.

Arlo Device Safety and Software Update Information

Safe Battery Handling and Usage

Battery packs can EXPLODE, CATCH FIRE, and/or CAUSE BURNS if disassembled, punctured, cut, crushed, short circuited, incinerated, recharged (disposable cells), or exposed to water, fire, or high temperatures.

To ensure optimal safety and performance:

• Only use Arlo or carrier approved battery packs and accessories. If you are unsure about whether a replacement battery or charger is compatible, contact Arlo.
  • DO NOT use this battery pack for anything other than its intended purpose.
• DO NOT use a battery pack if its case appears damaged, swollen, or compromised. Examples include, but are not limited to, leaking, odors, dents, corrosion, rust, cracks, swelling, melting, and scratches.
  • DO NOT disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts, or dispose of in fire or water.
• DO NOT expose the battery to fire or temperatures greater than 60°C (140°F). Do not place the battery next to areas which may become hot. Examples include, but are not limited to, on or near a space heater, cooking surface, cooking appliance, iron, radiator, or fireplace.
  • DO NOT get the battery pack or the Arlo device wet. Even though they might dry and appear to operate normally, the circuitry can slowly corrode and defeat its safety circuitry
• DO NOT place the battery pack in a pocket, purse, or other receptacle containing metal objects, such as keys, jewelry, or tools.

• DO NOT store the battery pack with hazardous or combustible material. Store in a cool, dry, ventilated area.
  • ALWAYS keep the battery pack away from children.

• DO NOT load the battery pack backwards. MAKE SURE the battery compartment is empty and free of any moisture or loose debris before inserting the battery.

• Avoid dropping the battery pack or the Arlo device. Dropping it, especially on a hard surface, might cause damage to the battery and the Arlo device. If you suspect damage to the battery pack or the Arlo device, replace it.
• Follow the directions in the Quick Start Guide and/or written in the Arlo Product User Manual.
• Follow local guidelines to dispose of used battery packs.

To the extent permissible by applicable law, failure to follow these warnings and/or directions could result in damage to your Arlo product that will not be covered by Arlo's warranty.

Compliance with 2014/53/EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED)

Arlo wire-free and plugged-in radio equipment complies with the requirement of Article 10 (2) of the RED as it can be operated in at least one Member State as examined. The wire-free radio equipment also complies with Article 10 (10) as it has no restrictions on putting it into service in all EU Member States. Apart from Arlo wire-free and plugged-in products marketed for outdoor use, all Arlo products are for indoor use only.

Power Adapter Safety

• Do not drop or cause an impact to the power adapter.
• If the power cable is damaged (for example, the cord is exposed or broken) or the plug loosens, stop using it immediately. Continued use may lead to electric shocks, short circuits, or fire.
• Do not touch the power adapter with wet hands. Doing so may lead to short circuits, malfunctions, or electric shocks.

Accessory Safety

• Using an unapproved or incompatible power adapter, USB cable or battery may cause fire, explosion or other hazards.
• Choose only accessories approved for use with this model by the device manufacturer. The use of any other types of accessories may void the warranty, may violate local regulations and laws, and may be dangerous. Please contact your retailer for information about the availability of approved accessories in your area.

Device Safety

• Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE): Ensure that at least 31cm separation distance is maintained between the Arlo wireless device and the body of the user.
• The socket outlet should be installed near the equipment and easily accessible.
• Do not plug devices into Powerline pass-through sockets that exceed the product ratings.
• Do not plug major home appliances into the filtered ac socket or into an attached power strip.

Specific precautions for EMC

• Warning: This is Class B equipment and is compliant with the requirements of EN 55032.

• Arlo's non-radio electrical and electronic equipment is tested to the requirements of EN 55032 (Emissions) and EN 55024 (immunity). There are no specific precautions which must be taken in order to comply with the Essential Requirements listed under Section 1 of Annex 1 of Directive 2014/30/EU.

• In addition, Arlo's radio equipment and non-radio equipment are further tested to ensure spurious emissions are within the specified limits, as well as meeting the requirements for adaptivity, which mitigates against problems caused by co-location with other radio equipment.

• Arlo products are not subject to the requirements in Section 2 of Annex I of Directive 2014/30/EU for fixed installations.

Disposal of Waste Batteries and Electrical & Electronic Equipment

This symbol on the product or its batteries or its packaging means that this product and any batteries it contains must not be disposed of with your household waste. Instead, it is your responsibility to hand this over to an applicable collection point for the recycling of batteries and electrical and electronic equipment.

This separate collection and recycling will help to conserve natural resources and prevent potential negative consequences for human health and the environment due to the possible presence of hazardous substances in batteries and electrical and electronic equipment, which could be caused by inappropriate disposal. Disposal regulations vary by region. Dispose of old batteries and equipment in compliance with your local regulations.

In order to obtain warranty service under this Arlo warranty, during the Arlo product's warranted period, as set forth above, you must submit a valid claim to Arlo by:

1. obtaining an RMA number by contacting Arlo technical support;
2. returning (at your shipping cost) the failed product to the address provided by Arlo technical support; and
3. providing Arlo with proof of the original date of purchase.
   Arlo will not accept collect shipments for warranty service, but replacement products will be returned to you at Arlo's cost after completing the above three steps. Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished or used parts may be used to repair the goods. If Arlo, by its sole determination, is unable to replace the defective product, it will refund the depreciated purchase price of the product.

IF YOUR ARLO PRODUCT IS CAPABLE OF STORING SOFTWARE PROGRAMS, DATA AND OTHER INFORMATION, YOU SHOULD MAKE PERIODIC BACKUP COPIES OF THE INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE STORAGE MEDIA TO PROTECT THE CONTENTS AND AS A PRECAUTION AGAINST POSSIBLE OPERATIONAL FAILURES. DURING WARRANTY SERVICE OR ANY OTHER TECHNICAL SUPPORT IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE CONTENTS OF THE ARLO PRODUCT'S STORAGE MEDIA WILL BE LOST, REPLACED OR REFORMATTED. IN SUCH AN EVENT ARLO AND ITS AGENTS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY

LOSS OF SOFTWARE PROGRAMS, DATA OR OTHER INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE STORAGE MEDIA OR ANY OTHER PART OF THE ARLO PRODUCT SERVICED.

ARLO'S RESPONSIBILITIES

As long as you fulfill your obligations under "YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES" above, Arlo will replace your product with the same or functionally equivalent product, at its discretion, free of charge (except for shipping charges as provided above).

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THIS WARRANTY AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARLO IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES RESULTING FROM USE OR MALFUNCTION OF ARLO PRODUCTS, COMPROMISE OR CORRUPTION OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, COSTS OF REPLACEMENT GOODS OR COSTS OF RECOVERING, PROGRAMMING, OR REPRODUCING ANY PROGRAM OR DATA STORED IN OR USED WITH THE ARLO PRODUCT, EVEN IF ARLO IS INFORMED IN ADVANCE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

SOME STATES (OR COUNTRIES OR PROVINCES) DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

THE EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY SET OUT IN THIS DOCUMENT DO NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW OR UNITED STATES CONSUMER LAW. Subject to
